  1. It's like a residential but can be commercial area. No, he didn't sign any document. I already requested a copy of the divorce from the court in the US  but it wasn't accepted so I requested  a Certification of Report of Dissolution of Marriage from  the  Vital Statistic office in the US. Still, they want one that is authenticated by a Philippine Consul.  How can I get the divorce decree authenticated by a Philippine consul?

  2. Hi,  I need help on this situation. I was married to an American citizen in civil court in the Philippines but we got divorced in the US. But while still married I bought a property in the Philippines in my married name but has not finalized the title yet. When I got divorced I changed back to my maiden name. Now, the Bank wouldn't put the land title in my maiden name, they are asking for a Final judgement of Simplified Dissolution of Marriage duly authenticated by a Philippine Consul.

I was a US citizen  when I got divorced.  So both parties are US citizens. I don't know if that will matter. I did not file for dual Filipino citizenship.

Does getting your divorce recognized in the Philippines' means you have to get a lawyer and file at the Regional Trial Court?

  3. I am hoping and praying for the same.. When was the last time you called NVC to follow up? We are calling twice a day, everyday.. :P Yesterday morning the operator told my husbie that our case HAS BEEN REVIEWED. I called in the evening and the operator told me IN THE FINAL STAGE OF REVIEW.. Their statements made me confused although they both said to call on Tuesday because it might have been complete by then..

    Goodluck to us!

Sounds like your CR-1 will be completed soon since it's on final review  We will call again monday or tuesday, we only call them once a week, yay  , gotta start calling them more

  4. Thanks. We set up K3 appointment hoping that our CR1 would be completed at NVC by then.. If not, then we need to cancel the interview and wait for case completion instead. I want to be positive so I am keeping my fingers cross.. Who knows we might have the same sked? :star:

Hoping and praying for that too. Goodluck to us.:star:

  5. Hello, i'm very sorry that happened to you. I have read a story too where the guy waited at the airport and the girl didn't show up. Different thing was they haven't met each other in person yet and also it was tourist visa. You might want to take a look at it. Here are the links:

the second link gives more details of the story.

  6. COngrats Candid_witch, i see you already got a schedule for your K3, Goodluck!! :):star:

Hi Raeka, we did talk with a supervisor and all the supervisor said was they are still going to make an "inquiry". That time we did not know what the inquiry was all about and they wouldn't tell us too and just told us to wait for them to contact us and that its a busy time for them and even told us not to call them again :protest: So we just got us an attorney. The atty was able to get the info and we sent the needed papers to them which is frustrating cos they could have just told us about it... :bonk:

  7. Hi Candid_witch, I guess that is AP for us since it's been a crazy 5 months since we submitted the DS230 and AOS and we are still waiting...:(...everytime my husband called them before the operator would say they are still reviewing it and we even talked with a supervisor and its the same and told us to wait. When January came and still no change my husband got a lawyer and the lawyer filed a motion that demands for them to reply and tell us what the hold-up is about or there will be legal action, with that the lawyer was able to get out of them what it was that's holding it up so we sent to NVC the needed documents rightaway and its been like 3 weeks now i think since we submitted it.

The latest update we got the other day was the IRS is done reviewing some tax documents cos that was what they were questioning about. But why in heaven's name can't NVC just tell us rightaway what is needed and we could have just supplied them the needed paperwork. So I guess now it's another wait again for the NVC to review it. I hope and pray this time it will be completed.

I think you are waiting for completion too i hope when yours get completed i'll be next too, God Bless Us, this is the craziest wait ever.

  8. Hi thanks, i hope and pray this will be the week, this visa process is the hardest ever.

Yes we get update but last week was the same, wonder when they will get done with it, weekends are just the worst :bonk: Hope this week will be good news.

  9. Hello, it's been 5 months now since DS230 was submitted last november, still case not complete. NVC wouldn't tell us what the hold up was, til my husband got a lawyer last January. The lawyer was able to get out of them what was needed by making a letter for them to respond. They wanted papers on my husband's tax deductions so my husband sent them the needed papers the last week of february. The lawyer said it looks ok now and we'll just have to wait for NVC again, but until now there's still no news. Just really feeling sad, and wondering if anyone has an idea how long till they review our case again...1128966konls4j981.gif 1128966konls4j981.gif 1128966konls4j981.gif

  10. I tried checking the AVR today just to see if there's a change since we just recently talked with a live rep, but it's still the same from the last time. It says they have sent us a packet and so and so...I would have thought they have change it by now since we already submitted our DS-230 too, although it's pending completion. When do they usually update the AVR?

  11. I cant believe it...but we called, yes we did....

Same old story..... still in AP....this is a busy time of the year sir, and your case is still under review pls call back.

Reading this, I think we are on AP too :crying: ..that's what they said, busy time of the year and they will make an inquiry on our case and will let us know. We are waiting for case completion, submitted it last November and all they told us now is that it's a busy time of the year. :bonk:

  12. To have a passport in your married name, you need to attend CFO seminar before filing since the CFO certificate is one of the requirement.

For spouses / spouses-to-be / partners of foreign nationals

Certificate of attendance of the Guidance and Counselling Seminar issued by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) (the seminars are held in Cebu and Manila)

    Here's the link:

    CDO DFA

I'm not sure if you can file for your passport in Cebu or Manila.

  13. I did my seminar in cebu. I stayed 2 nights. I flew in a day before and went to the CFO seminar at 6 am the next day. It's first come, first served basis and only 15 applicants are allowed per day. It's a one day seminar, we started the seminar at 8 am and was done at around 2-3 pm.

They will not give you the sticker yet if you don't have the visa but you can have the certificate and receipt and get the sticker in manila once you got your visa. Goodluck on your interview. :)

Those I know who did it in one day without staying overnight arrived by boat very early on the day of the seminar and went straight to CFO at 6 am and after the seminar they went home by boat too since the boat leaves at night. This is if you take the seminar in Cebu and can take the ferry overnight.

  14. pAG sure day oi!!!

    Kay mg-biko ta! hehehe...

homesickness I think is one thing that we, pinays who are still here should prepare to battle but the sad thing is, it's something you cannot prepare cos you never know how strong it will hit, until you are in the situation already. Kuyawan pud ta ani.

Anyway to the Op, just think, dghan man Pinay mingawon jud sa sugod pa, but they are able to adjust, so kaya mo yan girl
