Wow! DO mean an actual appointment where I walk into their office? That is not really an option since the nearest is nearly 5 hours away. I called the toll-free number, asking about whether my fiance can continue working.. here is what the woman told me:
Now I called the toll-free line for USCIS and talked to a woman (I took her name and associated ID number)and she said that since I ahve filed the paperwork and have the receipt number that that is the equivalent of an extension of the Temp EAD. At this point in time it is up to the employer whether or not to keep him on. Isn't that interesting? What do you think? Thanks in advance! -Shel
I suggest you made an appointment with the nearest UCSIS office, and ask them directly about it.It looks as though we will not get my fiance's renewed Authorization to work will not arrive before his authorization that he received at the POE expires. I didn't do my research early enough and did not file my AOS soon enough... Live and learn I guess..Is there any way to try to get it expedited? I would hate for him to lose his job permanently because he has to quit for a month or more because he is no longer authorized to work.
Any advice or suggestions? Thanks so much! -SHel

From what I can gleen he will be just fine. WE now have our receipt number.. I waited a little longer than I should have (for comfort and stress reasons). Following is text copied form a reply to soemone else. Thought you might find it interesting too. Thanks "CHi"...
You are not renewing his EAD you have applied for a new EAD based on his application for AOS. The Temp EAD given at some POE is only valid for 90 days from the day of entry into the US, it can not be extended or renewed.His work authorization ends on the 90th day, and he is no longer authorized to work. The employer is the one who could be in trouble if they were inspected by ICE. Any un-authorized work is forgiven for him because he is married to a USC.
shucks that really sucks! how long since you filed the AOS Shell? if he cant get into trouble and the employer wants to keep him then the employer can fix it for him.

Our EA renewal app and AOS has been filed- does my fiance have to stop working until he gets he gets his renewed EAD? His current place of employment was included in our paperwork. HELP!!!!! PLease advise!
His work does not want him to quit working since they are so pleased with his work. But I do not want to get us or them in trouble if he is not authorized to work. Happily they will take him back, but...... We have gone thourhg so much to get where we are. I hate to risk losing it..

There is no formal expedite for EADs. I only know of one member who contacted their congressperson to explain the situation to see if it can be rushed through. I have no idea if that actually worked, but she was able to get her EAD a bit quicker than 90 days. -

My baby was called to pick up his visa on Feb 8th, 2008 after his his Jan 30th interview!! I feel so blessed that our journey thus far (despite the waiting and general anxiety) has been smooth. Insha'allah it will continue like that through customs, AOS, etc.Although I have never been much of a poster, I have really appreciated this site. I visited the timeline area frequently as I found that to be an invaluable reference for me. I was spot on when trying to guess when our interview would be.

He just called and said the lady said everything was fine and he would get a call in a week to a month to get the visa...dont know what box was checked yet, waiting for him to come online and scan it to me. Thanks for all the prayers!!!!! -

Hello everyone,I am fairly new to this website but I figured I better do some research while I'm feeling... well alotta things!
My parents had our immigrant visa interview on Nov. 12th and at the end of the interview as expected we were given the blue sheet (221g). The CO crossed over the whole page where there is a big list of things and documents that could be possibly missing and she mentioned a few times to me that "Everything on your case is here, everything we need, all the documents everything is complete, but we need 8 more weeks to complete processing your case!"... We gave 10 fingerprints each and were told to check for out status on-line and as soon as the number appears we should send our passports to be stamped. My mother was even told she has no problem but it's more about me and my father! (I'm a guy by the way so yea!...)
On Monday January 7th it will be 8 weeks and there is still no words on the website. Now I understand it hasn't been exactly 8 weeks and it is very possible that we won't hear anything until Monday but my question and concern rises when I start to think if taking that long is a bad sign!
Like I mentioned we weren't warned about anything, absolutely nothing; however, my consideration is still there!
Any information, help, explanation, etc... will be greatly appreciated!

Hi all. I never post, but I thought I would post to this one. I didn't exactly file in July but actually June 28th to NSC. It was immediately forwarded to the CSC from which I received my NOA1 on July 14th. I haven't been touched since. I see a few who are otuched a lot and it worries me. I know I shouldn't be because some never get touched yet get approved, but alas, I can't help it! lol Good luck to one and all! -Shel
