  1. Hi! I went through the same situation. My visa expired and I wasn`t able to use it.

I wrote to the embassy explaining why I wasn`t able to use it and they sent me a letter on what to do.

I surrendered my visa and visa packet to the embassy in person and they scheduled me for another medical and interview.

I was issued another visa good for six months again.

Did they require the whole documentary evidence thing again? I've discovered Skype, which has been saving me tons of money over the last 5 months, but it doesn't leave a very good trail (like a phone bill does). There are of course hundreds of e-mails and the like. Presents, and my visits. Neither of us expected this to happen and we're both pretty freaked out about it. My fiancee is ready to head off to Kiev tomorrow night on the train with letters from doctors and transcripts from the school, but if it is as simple as scheduling a new interview and taking the medical again, then we can take a deep breath.

But I don't dare breath too deeply until my fiancee or I talk to someone at the embassy beyond the scheduling worker.

So how long was it from when your visa expired until they scheduled another interview and medical?

    Just as a side note,

Thank you all for your quick response and constructive comments. I appreciate this very much!

They only asked me to prepare documents that had already expired since my last interview like NBI clearance and medical report. Though I also prepared some evidences of continuous relationship but they didn`t ask for it in my case.

My visa expired August 29, 2008 but I didn`t know then it was possible to renew it. I lost hope and was thinking that maybe we should refile, but I still tried to send email, fax a letter and even snail mail on Nov. 24 to the US embassy here in manila. I was happy they answered. Then I was scheduled for interview last Jan. 28 only. Just had to pay the same fees I paid before.

  2. You can pay at BDO without your passport. They didn`t even ask for anything from me when I paid.

I just filled up a form from them and paid the 131$ visa fee in pesos. Then they`ll give you a DS157 form with validation at the back and the receipt. Maybe you can bring also your own DS157 form just in case they don`t have so they can just validate it, though usually they have.

    Goodluck.

  3. Did they go to window 37 after the consul`s interview? Window 37 will be the one to tell them the instructions to pay at Air 21 counter for the delivery. Maybe your mother didn`t notice her number being flashed again for window 37.

I was interviewed also yesterday jan. 28 and you really have to be attentive to the numbers flashing for your turn.

The air 21 slip was given to us at the beginning to be filled up but had to pay after the interview.

  4. Just an update on this query of mine about my unused expired K1 visa.

I was able to apply for reissuance of my visa. I wrote to the embassy and they asked me to surrender the expired visa and packet to them together with a letter of explanation why I didn`t travel.

After submission, they sent me an appointment letter for another interview and to submit some documents like new ds forms, new medical report, new NBI and visa photos.

Yesterday was my interview and I was approved for a new visa. :)

  5. hi..does anyone knows if i was granted with the visa isn't it it's only good for 6 months?can i renew my visa here after 6 months??????pls anyone???????/

Do you mean an unused expired visa after six months? If that is, well in my case, yes I was able to renew it.

Maybe it depends also on the reason why you were not able to use it.

In my case, I just surrendered my expired visa together with my visa packet and an explanation letter why I was not able to use it. Then after a month they sent me an appointment letter for another interview and submission of new set of DS forms, new medical from St. Lukes and new NBI clearance.

so during interview you only submitted documents you brought during your first interview, or they ask for additional docs...

Actually, I was not interviewed yet. My interview will be in two days. In the appointment letter they sent me, that`s all they asked for me to submit. New NBI, new medical report from slec, passport, new visa photos and ds forms. Visa payment of 131$ and the fee for medical 213$.

They didn`t ask for a new affidavit of support, maybe they`re satisfied with my old one.

    No additional docs asked.

But when you apply for visa replacement/renewal, you should submit an explanation letter why you were not able to use the visa. Then they will decide whether you are eligible for visa replacement.

thanks jfd, my case is my passport/visa was lost (bag snatch) visa expired on feb 11, 2009 still trying to contact emabassy..

I just faxed a letter to the USEM about my expired visa and that I would want to renew it. I think that`s the fastest way to contact them because I noticed all their letters sent to me were dated the day I faxed to them though it was mailed later.

    Good luck.

  7. I was issued a fiancee visa also last year as you can see in my timeline.

But due to some family problem, I wasn`t able to go until my visa expired already.

Later on, when everything`s fine, we decided to go on. That was my problem also before.

Whether we would start again the process or if I can renew my visa.

I wrote to the embassy about my case that I want to renew and they replied to me.

Told me to surrender my expired visa and packet to the embassy together with an explanation letter

why I wasn`t able to use it. It was for review still by the consul if I will be eligible for visa replacement, then after a month I got a letter from them again.

It was already an appointment letter for another interview. Says I had to undergo another medical exam,

submit new NBI and ds forms. In 2 days I will have my interview again, which makes me more nervous

than the first one i had.

    Good luck to u.

  9. Exercise a lot and of course watch his diet. My mom`s blood sugar level went up to 508 before, she felt very weak so she went to the doctor. Right after she knew it, she just started exercise, walking every morning, diet and now her sugar level is normal. She still continues walking for an hour or two every morning until now.

  10. I was issued a K1 visa and it has expired last August 29, 2008.

Due to so many unexpected problems that came right after I recieved my visa, my schedule of leaving got moved and moved until another family emergency happened. That made me decide not to go anymore coz I cannot leave my family in such situation, until my visa expired already.

I read somewhere that the visa can be re-issued/revalidated.

My question is, until when is it possible for us to have it revalidated?

I plan not to leave so soon... so I wanna know when is the latest we can do it.

I hope somebody can answer my query here...

    Thank you...

  11. Finally!!! 5 days after my interview... my visa was delivered this afternoon.

Thank you visa journey for all the infos I got here. Really helped a lot. :D

I`m so glad I found this site...
