  1. Yes, you need to re-apply. I'm currently working and my employer is already questioning as to when my GC will arrive. I can't chance waiting on when my GC will arrive. My letter in September indicated 6 months as well, but when I call USCIS they just advise that I'm within the processing times and provide very little information. It's really frustrating.

  2. I applied for my EAD/AP at the same time as I-485 in June 2014. My Combo EAD/AP card will expire in August and I would like to renew end of month as I'm not sure when my GC will arrive. I received a letter last September in regards to an Interview Waiver, but have not heard anything since that time. Anyway, I had a few questions about the I-765 form.

    1) Question #12 Date of Last Entry into the U.S., and #13 Place of Last Entry into the U.S.

I've made several visits to Canada since I got my EAD/AP card, my most recent visit a few weeks ago. Do I put this date or do I enter the date that I first crossed over as a K1 Visa holder which was last April? I'm just not sure if by entry that includes entering as AP

    2) Status of Last Entry - Would I put AOS Applicant/Advance Parole OR K-1 Visa if using my entry to the U.S. from last April 2014.

I've tried searching online but have not come across a clear answer. I'd appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Julie

  3. Hi Everyone,

I'm new to all this. A friend of mine recommended this site to be me, and I must say it's fantastic. I have been stressed and overwhelmed with the entire process and was cosidering hiring an immigration lawyer. However, after reading through the forums, guides, etc., I'm thinking that I really don't need to hire one. I met my boyfriend in October online (he lives in New York), and we want to marry one day. I've been to New York several times to see him, and he will be coming to Toronto for the first time in August. Our case is pretty straight forward, we both love each other and just want be together. He's doing his masters right now (future foreign teacher), and he wants to complete that first, another 1.5 years. He does work full-time, and does his studies at night. The question I wanted to ask was if I considered going to school in New York to complete my degree, would I need to return to Canada after I graduate, (I've read you need to return within 30 days of graduating) or could I stay in New York while the K1 is being processed? I'm trying to see what options I have for us to be together until we actually decide to get married. I figured attending school would be a good choice, at least this way I would be earning a degree (I have a 3-year diploma in Administration-Accounting), and would be with my boyfriend. I currently work in finance and assist the Controller. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. =)
