Are financial documents like the affidavit of support (i-864) and the federal income tax returns i sent to the NVC required at the interview? I seem to be getting conflicting information from different sources, and i tried emailing the embassy and got a less than helpful response. Do the requirements for original documents generally vary depending on the specific embassy?

Hi, just updating my status for any of you who are waiting for your interview date. Our case was DQed at the NVC on June 15 of this year and we just received an interview appointment letter just yesterday. So don't give up hope, the process is moving along.
edit: we are an IR-1 visa applicant

Exactly. That's the proof you need: your birth certificate.
Now, if your mother appears on it with her married name, include her marriage certificate.
yes i think so, thank you for the response

Hi im currently being asked to supply proof of relationship for household member which is my mother. I (the sponsor), have already submitted her birth certificate under proof of US status, and i have submitted her most recent tax returns which listed me as a dependent. I'm wondering what else they could be needing for proof of relationship besides maybe my birth certificate? My mother's birth certificate doesn't prove our relationship but mine does as it has her name on it.

After the interview, pending the acceptance of my wife's visa, i'm aware that there is a period of 6 months where the visa remains valid to immigrate to the US. Is there any way to extend that 6 months if im unable to accompany my wife during this time of limited international travel?

Does anyone know if the embassy in Bangkok requires the financial documents (affadavit of support, tax returns) at the time of the interview? I've read conflicting information online and the embassy wasn't helpful in their email response.
