did you pay the immigrant visa fee? when you do, you receive a new receipt number starting with IOE, and you use that to track the green card status
Yes, I paid the fees and on my.uscis shows now as Uscis accepted the case

The dates were different in my old versus my new USCIS account.
In my old USCIS account at egov.uscis.gov it says: "July 31st, 2020. We are producing your new card for your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration."
In my new USCIS account at my.uscis.gov it said: "August 7th, 2020. In Process. USCIS has accepted your application, petition, or request for processing."
POE: July 12th, 2020
Green Card mailed: August 19th, 2020
Green Card received: August 22nd, 2020
How many days passed from Uscis has accepted your application.... to green card in production ?

I think you better call the USCIS hotline to clarify the status with the officer.
Thank you!

Can the DS-3053 form be notarized in Italy at the Comune?
Otherwise can a non U.S. Citizen go to the US Consulate and get the form Notarized there?

Hello,
my son is moving in the US soon.
He will have a I551 stamp on his Italian passport.
His mom and I never been married, I am his father and I’m US citizen by Naturalization.
I wanted to apply for him to get a US passport without go through all citizenship process.
what are the document required? Does he need a letter where says that he is in my physical and legal custody from his mom or his mom just need to sign and notarize the DS-3053 “Statement of Consent” form?
Thank you

My wife's son brought his birth certificate, passport, and interview invitation letter. We also sent him with photos of all of us together, but those weren't needed. We also sent him with money to pay the expedited shipping after the interview.
My wife's friend who accompanied him brought her passport and id card.
This "interview" is really nothing more than an opportunity to see the k2 applicant and collect their passport. I don't believe he spoke other than to say yes or no to a couple questions. - Jason
Does the interview invitation letter comes by email or mail?

No, that’s not how it works. Custody is shown either by the fact that the child lives with both parents (then marriage certificate and both parents at interview is required), or by one of the pieces of evidence shown above if a single/divorced/widowed parent.
INA 320 explicitly requires legal custody.
Thank you

3 hours ago, SusieQQQ said:Just to emphasize again that the point of this post was that VJ has many posters like these where the custody proof was obviously enough for the immigrant visas to be issued, because those kids were in the US on green cards, but it wasn’t enough for the passport agency. (I found a similar issue with the birth certificate we used - Consulate accepted it as enough proof kid was my kid to be a derivative, but the passport agency didn’t.) It seems the burden of proof for citizenship is higher than that to get an immigrant visa.
So what am I saying is, if you want a US passport for your child, seeing as you have to get some form of proof of custody anyway to get the visa, it’s probably easier in the long run for you to get one that will be acceptable to the passport agency too and not just “good enough” to get a visa. The screenshot posted in the link above (I copied here again for you as it seems you didn’t read it) tells you what is acceptable for that. A notarized letter from the other parent isn’t enough for a passport.
Thank you

A notarized letter stating his mother's full name, dob, and address which is giving permission for her son to live in the usa with his father, your name, dob, address, signed in front of a notary (who checks ID.) Or she can go to a lawyer or court and get an official court document. Not sure what this would be in Italy but Im sure you could call a family lawyer there and see.
She should be the one taking the child to the medical if you cannot. Not your brother or friend. However no interviews will be in place for some time. I do suggest you are present, if possible, for his interview.
Thank you!!

A court order would be the best solution.
I don’t have a court order unfortunately and I’m in the US while my son’s and his mom are in Italy.
Any other suggestions or letter samples?
thanks!!

will his mother allow him to immigrate to the states? Usually embassy requires custody document as well before issuing visa. If it doesn't exist, in some countries people go to notary and do Parental Consent, like in the quoted thread below a woman from Mexico did, she presented alternative document called Change of Residence, where another biological parent gave permission to move to the states. You can present that document. Also, he is supposed to be under 18?
Can you send me the link of the quoted tread, I can’t see it and thanks!!

Who is your sons guardian? That person should take him to the interview. Is your sons mother deceased? It doesn’t matter you weren’t married- I am assuming there is a live mother in this situation.. she needs to give permission (but this should have been completed prior to submitting the petition?)
My wife sponsored him and there is nothing in writing between me and my son’s mom for the custody.
She is alive, is there any form for the custody that she could sign?

Hello,
I’m a naturalized US citizen (married to a US citizen)
my wife sponsored my son that I had with my previous girlfriend in Italy for bring him here in the US.
All the documents are already at the consulate in Naples Italy. We are now waiting for the medical /interview appointments
Questions..
1- with the coronavirus issue my wife and/or me can’t fly to Italy for take my son to the medical and the interview appointments, can my brother or a friend of mine take my son to the appointments? If yes do I need any authorization?
2- after my son will get his visa and get here in the US can we apply for the US passport for my son? Does he need to wait for the green card or we can apply straight with the visa on the passport?
3- proof of custody needed for the the US passport application for my son.
I wasn’t married and I don’t have any court order or anything else as proof of custody, what I need to do?
thanks!!!

Hello,
my wife applied for my son (Stepmother) for take him in the USA.
Today 06/02/2020 we received an email saying that the NVC received the approved immigrant visa from the USCIS and I already paid the fees.
How long usually takes from the DS-260 to the Medical/Interview appointment in Naples, Italy?
Can somebody else take my son to the Medical/Interview appointment or just my wife (petitioner) as we live in the US and my son is in Italy?
How long does it take to receive the green card since POE date?
