you can take me off the list; as I was posting few weeks ago I got my visa going through my native country Romania. We requested a change of processing center and were waiting for an answer in 6 weeks but we got one in 2 weeks.

So I was done on August 13, the same day my husband got a job offer... nice right!

So now I am in US for 6 weeks now- almost with the baby and everything.

I still feel for you my Canadians!!!

I could be happy just that we cleared a space for the ones waiting after us...

I will update my profile shortly... with the baby is ... I am speachless.

One more time thank to the ones who told me more about my case and took the time to answer my questions. Please let me know if we could do anything at all for yall.

If it wouldn't have been for this forum we wouldn't known that we have this choice of changing our file from one center to another.

I will try all these options. I basicaly want to keep the canadian funds and have access to them instead of crossing the border all the time for some cash

I know the US dollar is declining and canadian is wining on this market... so what is the use of me buying the weaker currency?

I am unable to find a bank that would hoast canadian accounts.

I am so used to Europe and Canada when I always kept foreign funds in accounts,

what did you do?

I need to be able to have a checking in canadian dollars.

I will not change my money in US now!

on well... we waited for 5 months for an interview and it did not happen, therefore we took our chances and request the move to my birth country Romania - from my residence country Canada - canadian citizen-

we were expecting 2 months...

it took them 2WEEKS to move it

and we delayed the file... oh well... it was pretty much... ' so when would you like to come for an interview?' so nice really

compared to hang up- ed calls at Montreal while waitiAndng 5 months...

really great experience...

I am hoping for our interview as soon as possible.

I know that it will take a while since I will enter US until I will have the right to work... once I will have the visa in my hands...

Questions... I might get transferred... from my work to another simmilar in US once I have the permit...

but I can't abandon this... my work in Canada...

Do you have any idea if I can Check in, US, apply wor whatever,... and than, while doing so... I work in Canada until I have the green card?

asteptam si noi cu sufletul la gura, de la saptamana la saptamana, stii cum e, numaram zilele.

Ma duc in Romania la ai mei pentru doua luni cu bebitza si sper sa se rezolve cat sunt acolo.

Sunt in concediu de maternitate, si sper ca nu va trebui sa ma intorc la serviciu in Canada...

Cu Dumnezeu inainte, sa fim sanatosi cu totii.

we waited 4 months already for an intrevew... speram sa ne mute documentele in romania

not sure to write in romanian or english... i think is polite for all vjs to write in english...

last night we called and found out the bad news as well, there will be 4 months for us without any intervew.

My husband called the embassy in my Romania and they said they would accept the file.

We asked NVC they said it would take them 2-4 weeks to review the application than another 2 weeks to transfer and than is up to the embassy in Bucharest.

So we started that.

What we found out is that for CR-1s only for MONTREAL NVC schadules the intervews. In all other places the schaduling is done locally... not sure what that means... but on well. Just wanted to let you know.

About the move: please let me know what to expect. I have seen that some people got the file transferred to Van, How long did it take? Please let me know ...

I am not sure if the decission is good or not... not sure... they said is ok, the embassy there in Ro is very open , they answer our phone calls in minutes... not sure... really not sure....

In the meanwhile I feel like pulling my hair out, between 3 countries now, with a new born baby... and so much uncertanty.... I am just trying to keep things together... and not loose it... would be so easy... you know...

I am a canadian by choice and I am a canadian at heart... and will always be.

I did not want to leave Canada... still I don[t - somehow I feel that somehow the faith is postponing the interview just 'cause I feel like that-

My heart is bleeding that he doesn;t want to move here;

Did yall think that ... we might loose this 'canadian spirit' ... among thegreat united states...

Hi, just to put in my two cents of experience. My wife's case was approved on April 2nd, 2007 at NVC and I spoke w/an agent there earlier this week. He explained they were trying to get us an appointment this month, but nothing was available yet. So we're hoping that this gets taken care of by July at the latest. Sorry for those who got approved in May, and good luck...seems like a ####### shoot to me.

Just a question since it seems like there are people here who have been refused entry to the US at one time or another. Does anyone know, if you're refused entry based on not being able to prove that you'll return home, how soon you can "try again"? Later that day? A few days? A week? It seems to me that just going to a different/nearby port of entry (like, say, being refused at the Peace Bridge and driving straight to Lewiston) would be frowned upon, but if you planned a week-long trip to the US and were refused at Pearson on a Friday, could you just rebook your flight and try again on Sunday? If it's just a matter of proving that you'll go home at the end of your visit, one border guard might be convinced where another one wasn't, or perhaps you were missing a key piece of proof that you can go home and get.

This is all hypothetical at this point. My husband has never been refused entry (knock on wood and all that...), but I do get nervous and like to have contingency plans in place for every possible occurrence. Does anyone have experience with this?

I am in US now,

and have been visiting regulary ever since we submitted the papers

I was denied once, and more than that was pregnant at the time, but they said if I want to come visit, I should bring proof that I have income, job and house in Canada.

So ever since we put toghether a folder with copies of our immigration papers and my house, my bank account, letter from my employer, letter from the hospital where I planned giving birth in Canada, all invoices from Rogers, Fido... or whatever you have... and as well a lease contract of the house where I intend to stay in US- my husband, where he works, letter from his work... all... big binder!

SO everytime they asked... we came up with the folder, when they seen it, they said, ok... did not evenlook at it...

One remark... we hwve been crossing by car, so we afford to be denied, brought more papers and come back... at niagra cross, is ok. I advice take the QEW till end- that is the best one.

I put this just for the record - for other ppl as well.

I have a few days off, so I have decided to fly down to LA from Van next weekend (for 5 days).

just wondering if anyone has been denied entry becasue they were waiting for their visa or no problems?
