Still not needed.  The NVC and consulate pretty much takes your word on it for household size provided your tax return matches up. They don't need to know the names of the children in the household. The CO is more likely to question if your family has met your husband and their names, than birth certificates of USC children of the petitioner

edit regardless, you're using a service and when you do that, you have to give them what they ask for even if it's the kitchen sink.

It seemed odd to us, but also with the other explanation made sense. Thank you for clarifying.

so you're using a visa service that is asking for things that aren't needed.  gotcha.

We are new to this process, like almost everyone else and are learning as we go. We question document requests from Boundless if they are either not  required or we don't believe they are a linking document, a secondary source document, to validate a required document. The linking documents may reduce the chances of receiving an RFE. The BC could be used to link my required tax information, since I claim her as a dependent and her father, my ex, is named in the divorce decree that we submitted, which is required.

I called NVC yesterday and after a 50 minute wait I was able to talk with someone. She sent an email to her supervisor and said they would create a ticket and it should be unstuck. She said sometimes they get stuck depending on where the form was sent or where it was coming from. Something to that effect any way. I pray she is right about it being untuck in a couple of days. There was system issues with the payment process my lawyer said. My husband will also be going to the embassy in Lagos. Just hope it doesn't take forever to get an interview date. He still has to get his medical once he receives his interview appointment letter.

You must just be a few weeks ahead of us! It's exciting and stressful at every step. Best of luck and keep us posted.

No interview date yet. There has been problems with AOS fees being paid at NVC.  I called yesterday and they are working on it. System issues they said. We've been waiting on this for over 2 weeks and they said sometimes they get stuck. She emailed her supervisor and said they would create a ticket and it should be good to go in a couple of days. I pray she is right. Where is your husband? Hope the embassies open soon so when he gets his interview date there won't be a problem.

I read in a thread here something about the fees getting stuck as well. You may want to search, because I recall there was another person handling the posting of fees you were suppose to ask for, like the receiving clerk or something like that. My husband will be going to the Embassy in Lagos when it's our time. I thought the embassies were opening effective tomorrow, June 4th, but on a graduated schedule.

Yea, they will sgraight up deny any petition you file if you have not met in person. I have been to Nigeria 3 times and had planned to go again before this pandemic. We are at NVC stage now, thank you Jesus !! Best of luck!!

Sounds like we are at a similar step in the process. I've also visited my husband in Nigeria three times and are just approaching the NVC stage. Our DS-260 and other documents should be ready to go in the next week or so. Do you have an interview date yet?

  6. Though we understand there is no form, and it's up to the CO's discretion, those that have been successful in getting a waiver, what additional information, documents or discussion did you have that contributed to you being approved? My husband doesn't have his interview date yet, but we are watching closely to be as prepared as possible. Now that the embassy in Nigeria will be opening, I'll be watching closely here to see how the interviews and the waivers go. Thanks!
