My case is showing exactly the same thing: still pending. If you create and account and add you case you can see a bit more history.
Form accepted 9/1 the case was received at another USCIS office on 9/2.
I'm waiting on the approval this week, otherwise I'll file the AOS anyways using the DOS FR, that's technically what they ask for in form I-485.
Thanks J1 , That's helpful. I get to know from my department if filing with DOS FR is possible. Please update as your case status changes. best,

Hi PRIG, I had the same status and was confused. I think it just means they assigned your case to another USCIS office due to work overload. It's not a bad thing. My case was approved just a few days later.
Thanks for clarifying. Could you please tell how long did it took for approval after you got this message ? I received the I-797C on sep9 and my case status is still the same on website.

So u got I-797c. Great.
May be @J1student could update if he has the same thing on his status. He seemed to receive I-797c pretty earlier.yeah may be.. but as he mentioned earlier about his case- is displaying pending on uscis website. lets see..

In that case look for the transfer dates and count the days from that time. In my case the case was approved the next day at around 7 pm after i received the letter. My case was also transferred and I got the same message as you. In your case the clock starts at seotember 2. When did you get the letter?
I received the letter September 9 but the status is still the same on the website, and its almost approaching 2 weeks since the current uscis office received my case. It just seems a never ending process

Hey guys, attached is the USCIS status I'm seeing online with the given I-612 receipt no. It's weird that instead of showing any status its saying that my application transferred from another office (didn't understand what does this imply). Also the I-797C notice which I received do not mention any other information except the receipt no. It's been >2 weeks since I got FR drom dos. Could anyone here please help me to interpret what does that mean or someone else who is going through / or had similar experience?
appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Oh that’s good. At least you have something (FR). Don’t know why they have so much discrepancies.
Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@PRIG did u receive anything from DoS ? My FR was also on 27th August.
thanks @J1student. Based on ur timeline, I am assuming USCIS might have received our case on the Sept 1st-2nd as well. However haven’t received any receipt.@shP I received DOS letter on 7th september (self addressed envelop via mail) but nothing yet from USCIS. lets hope we get to hear something soon!

Hi,
Yes I have received the DOS recommendation (in the self addressed mail) on September 4th and this uscis receipt I797c on September 8th.
The status on uscis website is still pending and it shows they have received my case on September 1st.
That's pretty quick,! So one can only check the status USCIS online after receiving I797c? just thought to confirm the process.

Finally got the Favorable Recommendation from the state department!
Here is my timeline:
- March 18: application sent to department of state (except NOS)
- May 4: application showed up on DOS website (except NOS and passport data page)
- May 16: Embassy sent NOS
- June 28: NOS showed up on DOS website
- August 18: Passport data page showed up on DOS website
- August 26: Favorable Recommendation.
It has been a long ride, now waiting for the final approval from USCIS.

Yea Sure no problem. What stage are you at?
My NOS was last updated on July 5. Since then there is no update on my case and a very narrow time window is remaining on my visa. DOS is not replying to my inquiries and so it's just stressful situation. let see how it goes. Thanks for asking.

Anyone who received favorable recommendation towards the beginning of August, 2020 got the letter from DOS or USCIS. Its been 15 days that DOS send the recommendation to USCIS but I received no acknowledgement or hard copy.
Hi Ari.7, Could you please share your timeline here. Also any update you received from USCIS yet?

Hi, I am in the same situation. I received my FR on July 28 and I did not get any mail from either DOS or USCIS. I will be also grateful for some feedback from people who are further in the process. Thank you.
Hi Veronikac, Have you heard anything from USCIS yet?

Nothing yet unfortunately. I see 3 applications that got FR in the 2019 thread with:
- Application #1: NOS received on June 10th -> FR August 7th
- Application #2: NOS received on June 10th -> FR August 10th
- Application #3: NOS received on June 12th -> FR July 21st
My NOS was received on June 28th, I was hoping I would get an update sometime around mid-August but as you see, nothing so far.
Thanks for the update J1. We are almost touching the similar time line. Fingers crossed . Hope it gets through soon for us.

Hi All, is there anyone who have their waiver case with NOS last updated on JULY 5 or around that time, already got the favorable recommendation or are still waiting for it? Please comment here if you're in similar situation. It will give us some idea of the current processing times. Thanks again.

Thanks for the update Shib.

Do you have any update? I guess you have 20 days left. I hope you have got some news.
My NOS got updated on July 5. Since then no progress . Still waiting for fav recommendation. I could see people with similar timeline already received fav. recommendation. processing times seems to vary with each individual case. Have you got your waiver yet?

I FINALLY got my favorable recommendation, 23 weeks after sending my documents (the delay might in parts be due to extremely bad timing as I initiated the process just before all the lockdowns happened). Hopefully everyone else's moves faster than mine.
Application package sent to St. Louis - March 2nd, 2020
Check cashed - March 9th
Embassy sent NOS - March 15th
Application package received in online system - April 30th
Embassy sent NOS again - May 15th
NOS received in online system - June 10th
Recommendation sent - August 10th
Mine is almost similar timeline. NOS received on DOS website -July 5th but to progress since then Still waiting for fav. recommendation:( but thanks for sharing your timeline!
