Which consulate/embassy? What was the missing evidence or document?
If you check the CEAC site with your case number, Administrative Processing is a good sign they are reviewing and/or in the process of printing the visa. "Rejected" is ok, because of the form your husband was given. It will go Rejected -> AP -> Ready -> Issued. Sometimes "Ready" is skipped and goes directly to "Issued"
It was ciudad juarez mexico. Yes it says refused but someone entered because the last reviewed date changed. He got an email today saying “You have been asked to attend a follow-up appointment for your immigrant visa application" Is that normal? He has no criminal record no overstay of visa nothing im so confused

If they kept his passport, you watch the CEAC status to change to "Issued". If they did not keep his passport, you wait for instruction from the consulate.
Thank you. Do you know how long this may take?

Hello I am looking at my i864 affidavit of support and on the top right corner it says expiration date 03/31/2020. Does this mean I have to submit an updated one? I have an interview later this month and I am wondering if I have to submit a new one signed by my sponsor again.
My father is the sponsor for my husband because I did not make enough I was a student full time. If he filed taxes as married filing jointly with my mom but she has not worked for many years do I also have to submit the I864A... thank you in advance

My fiance and I had an interview date of April 2, at the Ciudad Juarez consulate in Mexico. However, before we received official notification that they were suspending visa services, the MEDICAL CENTER actually contacted us days before claiming that the consulate had told them what was going to happen, before there was any official notice yet. So, seeing that my fiance just got an email saying that they are available to schedule a medical appointment with her again, tells me that this a good news and they are probably opening back up the Consulate again!!!! I'm trying to stay calmed and grounded but I am getting very excited!
Please let me know, for anyone else applying for a K1 visa in Mexico that had an Interview and Medical Exam date, if you have received this email as well.
When is she scheduled for?? Omg this is great news!

You can file jointly but he needs an ITIN in lieu of a SSN. Download the IRS W7 Form and submit the form, with his passport, with the paper filing of the federal tax return.
If you file seperately, you still need to file on paper and write NRA instead of a SSN.
Thank you should have added we are waiting for a interview at the mexican consulate so hes currently in Mexico

Husband will need to bring DS-5540 only (I-994 is for AOS cases with USCIS) and bring it with him to the interview.
So AOS cases are those of people who are living in the US going through this process? Since my husband has always lived in mexico hes not a AOS case? Just wanting to clarify why he doesnt have to do the i944 thank you!

Hi, does anyone have a new date for a interview in ciudad juarez? Or know when they will open again?
-
Hi, I filed the i130 for my husband a couple years ago everything got approved documents accepted at NVC. We are just waiting for an interview date for a couple months now. Now I am learning about these new forms the i-994 and ds5540. I am a united states citizen and my husband is mexican and has lived there (mexico)his whole life. Do we have to submit those new forms? How if everything was already accepted? Or do we fill them out and take them to the interview?
-
Hi i am a US Citizen and filed the i130 for my husband everything is accepted at NVC at this point we are waiting for an interview. I was wondering does everyone now need to fill out the form DS5540? I know its new and I have heard some people are exempt from it if they filed before feb 24 2020? Just wondering. Has anyone had an interview at ciudad juarez recently where they ask about this form?
-
Hi i am a US citizen. I applied for the i130 for my husband got approved from USCIS and NVC accepted all documents. Do we also have to submit the DS5540 about the new public charge? I am hearing some people state that if you submitted everything before feb. 24 2020 you dont have to fill it out.
