  1. hey guys

I've sent my DS 3025 with my I 485 application and I got an RFE asking for me to have a CS filling up part 2 and 5 of the I 693...

    I've realized I don't have the DS 3025 (can't believe I forgot to make a copy!)

I'm also wondering if him being in Texas and me in Wisconsin is a problem for the USCIS....

Does Dr Arnold require it? I think I'm gonna call him tomorrow! Thanks for the great advice!

  2. Some countries require the vaccinations to be completed prior to issuance of the K-1 visa; some countries do not. Canada is one of many who do. 99% of us who had our vaccinations completed and did not send in an I-693a were approved without an RFE because the completed vaccination information is in our packet.

But the question came from a member from France.... :P

The UK is 'requiring' the vaccine also. At least the current Panel Physician with a consulate contract is requiring it. DOS does not require the vaccines. IMO the panel physicians are 'scamming' the applicants.

I did the complete visit, it was mandatory...

Vaccinations, X-rays, blood analysis.... I have a copy of my DS-3025 and I had everything in the brown enveloppe as far as I can tell.

I don't think I'll do the form. Many people here haven't sent it and had no problem, the VJ AOS guide doesn't mention it and this link on the USCIS website confirms that: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

  3. Hi

I apoligize in advance because I'm sure the answer to my question is already answered somewhere but I want to make sure I understand everything...

I had my medical prior to my K1 interview in Paris and I gave the big brown enveloppe at my POE (Chicago).

So if I've correctly understood everything I don't need to submit an I-693a form with my AOS application.

I have a copy of my DS-3025. Do I need to submit that?

I've just read on the I-693 instructions that eventhough I've had a medical for my K1 interview I need to see a civil surgeon and fill up that form:

"You will, however, be required to complete Part

1, Information about you, and submit the vaccination section of Part 2 with your adjustment of status application. A designated civil surgeon must complete the vaccination section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's certification."

    What should I do?

  5. Hi everyone!

After the bliss of finally getting married it's time to do some more paperwork...

On the I-485 I'm asked for the A# (if any)

Is is the one that follows A# on my visa K-1?

I'm pretty sure it is but you know that paranoid feeling :D

I am also asked my non immigrant visa number and I'd like confirmation it's the red one on the K-1 on the lower right side.

I also have applied for a SSN but I haven't got it yet. I suppose it's gonna come soon. Is it a problem if I send my AOS before getting it?

What do they call "current USCIS Status"?

    K-1 holder?

    Thanks for your help :)

  6. I'm confused I missed that thread

    Thanks a lot :)

    No I-693 for me! :D

Why do you not need an I-693?

I've read that in the thread linked above:

"If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693A IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693a."

  7. Hi everybody!

I have a few quastions regarding this form.

Like most K1 holders I've undergone an extensive medical exam prior to my Embassy interview... Physical exam, lots of questions about my medical past, blood tests and X rays...

The doctor gave me a copy of the DS-3025 and I have my Xrays too.

I had a look at the I-693 I need to return for my AOS and it says I have to go to a civil surgeon to fill up the second part!

At this point I'm a little lost because I've already had those tests and answered those questions with an embassy accredited doctor and paid the 160€ fee for that!

Do I still need to go see a civil surgeon? How much would it cost in case I need to go? And why isn't the Emassy visit enough?

    Thanks for your help :)

  8. Wisconsin Dells, an hour from Madison

Surely you know of that place with all the Water Parks and attractions :P

I know about the horrible winter. My fiancé told me it snowed again a few days ago. I was there from Noc to Dec and got a fair amount of snow!

We went to Minnesota and Noth Dakota as well to visit his family and it was even worse!

    Where are you in Wisconsin?

I can't answer because we both signed the lease with my wife but I'm sure a letter by your fiance will be absolutely fine. Are you seriously going to live in Wisconsin???? Where to? Lucky you, you missed the most horrible winter of all time....

    Fred

    Hi

I've got a question about the "Publications des Bans"

My fiancé and I intend to ask for it as soon as we arrive in the USA (he comes in France to spend a couple weeks and then we leave together to the USA). However they ask for an proof of residence and until we get married, everything is at my fiance's name (lease, bills...). Is it ok if my fiancé writes a letter attesting I'm living with him?

What have you all done regarding this matter?

My consulate in the Chicago consulate. I'm going to live in Wisconsin.

  9. Hi!

The Packet 3 that I received from the US Embassy mentions that birth certificates presented must be originals. I was born in France and they don't deliver originals of birth certificate documents. The only document that they deliver is a "copie intégrale d'acte de naissance" which is a copy certified conform to the original and bearing the seal of the issuing office on it. Is it acceptable?

Is there a way to obtain any kind of original of that document?? (I don't think so but can someone confirm?)

    Thank you in advance!!

    Yohann

Yeah don't worry that's what we get in France, it's accepted :)

  10. I've had the first shot of Gardasil and I'm just repeating what my doctor told me. I know that the age requirements depend on the French policy regarding this vaccination.

All French girls can relax, it's not needed...

You can get HPV even with protected sex. There are also over a hundred different strains, so even if you have it (which, chances are, you do), there are still strains which you might not have that the vaccine will protect against.

They do it up to the late 20s, regardless of how much sex you've had.

Anyway, I see no earthly reason why they would require it except for extortion purposes. It's an expensive vaccine.

I got my interview last week and Gardasil was never a requirement for the medical...

Especially when you know that they only perform it on young/teenage girls

I think it stops at 23-24...

They also perform it on girls who are still virgins or who've had only protected intercourse

So it doesn't really apply to most of the girls here who are about to get married...

    I'm 25 BTW

  11. Talking about French paperwork....

For the Publication des bans the consulate asks for evidence of address. I'm gonna live with my fiancé of course but all the bills and the lease are at his name (until we get married) so I don't know if it's good enough for the consulate (Chicago). I've read somewhere that the French citizen asks for the publication des bans so I'm wondering if they want evidence of address with my name on it...

    What have you all done?

Would it be ok if my fiancé was writing a letter saying I live with him?

He tried to call them but he told me it's all in French so he was lost :P

I've emailed them about that but they take forever to answer. I got an answer today for a question I emailed more than 3 weeks ago!!!
