  1. What a lovely post!!! I too am an oldie....... and having the time of my life!! I met my soulmate 18 months ago (he's an oldie too!!) and I've had the happiest 18 months of my life!!

To me, being an oldie means...

Having the freedom to do and wear what I want, nobody expects me to be trendy!!

Lots of discounts at Golden Corral, and other cool places,

Not having to work, and not having to justify not working...... I worked 40 years non stop !!

Being able to marry 3 months after meeting, without negative comments from others.

Being able to sit around the pool, go shopping, do nothing if I want to, watch Jerry Springer and Dr. Phil, just generally goof off all day without feeling I'm wasting my time!!

Not having to wait months before my next vacation....we can take off anywhere anytime!!!

And.... yes..... 'old gits' DO have a sex life!!!!

Really.... all you 'youngies' should look forward to getting old..... it's so cool...... I LOVE IT!!!!!!:dance::dance:

  2. I had to do my driving test again....... I was nervous as I passed my last UK test over 30 years ago!!!

But... as my examiner said "The US test is very rarely failed by UK people, the UK test is much harder!"

    She was right.... I passed.

Just swot up on the theory...... you can get sample tests for most states online from the DMV websites.

Don't worry...... no big deal..... just go for it!!!

  3. Got my greencard last month..... Hubby and I are going on a Carribbean cruise (late honeymoon) in 3 weeks.

When we got approved, my passport wasn't stamped, as I was still awaiting FBI check.

When I come back from the cruise, will they stamp my passport, will they just accept my green card, or will I have a problem?

My AP is still current.... should I take that too??

I don't want to be worrying about getting back into the country!!!

  4. Kath...... unless they've got a good reason to refuse you, I'm sure you'll be ok.

Although they tell you the final desicion is with Homeland security at POE, if you ahven't overstayed or lied about anything, (they've got everything in computer) you'll have no problems!!

There are thousands of people in your position, awaiting FBI check, I'm sure POE are used to this!!

Have a good trip, and don't worry!!!!

  5. Thanks for your congratulations everyone !!!

Willchels.... did everything from the US...... was in the US when the I129 and I130 were approved.. went to infopass to ask if I had to go home to wait for interview, and IO said as we're married, I can stay here and do AOS from here!!

Was an unexpected reply, but a very welcome one !!

  6. Got both greencard and social security card today.... They both arrived today at the same time!!!!!

Honestly, the process was not as bad as we expected...... we were very lucky....we started the immigration process in January.... from sending I130 to greencard..... 9 months!!!!
