  1. HELLO ALL,

DID THE NVC RECEIVE YOUR CASE THIS MONTH? FROM THE PREVIOUS TIMELINES IT LOOKS LIKE 3 TO 4 MONTHS TO GET COMPLETED. DOES ANYONE HAVE JAN OR FEB 2008 INTERVIEW SCHEDULED IN JAMAICA?

I AM LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON YOUR JOURNEY FROM WHEN THE NVC RECEIVED YOUR CASE.

DID THE NVC CENTER SCHEDULE YOUR INTERVIEW?

DO YOU HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE PROCESS?

    THANKS

    I have a January interview.

  2. I have a friend who applied for his wife. He called DOS and was told the interview date is 2/11/08. As of today, neither he or his wife have received the interview letter. He has called DOS and sent emails to the embassy without luck. DOS finally gave him the number to call the embassy directly but they will not answer any questions unless its thru email. What can he do?? HELP

Since an interview has been scheduled, his wife needs to make an appointment for a medical. In Jamaica, the interview letter (Packet 4) must be given to the receptionist at the doctor's office. However in Bangladesh , the requirements read that the beneficiary must bring passport and passport photos to the appointment.

    I found this information.

A confirmation letter should be sent to your friend in the United States and his wife in Bangladesh. Snail mail is a bch! If the interview letter is not received by Friday, January 18th- have him contact his US Congressman. The state officials are not as effective.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks Mrs. Scott, I'll definately pass this info along to him! :)

    Good Morning All,

CASE COMPLETED as of December 13th..........Woo Hoo!

Is the next step receiving Packet 4 which will include the interview date and medical information?

Thanks to all of your support and friendships!

    Peace & Love,

    Tonya

    Congratulations Tonya!!! :dance::dance:

Yes, packet 4 is next. Start contacting the NVC by mid-January to see if you got an interview for February. It looks like things are slowing up a bit in Kingston, so you could be getting a March date. Keep us posted!

Congratulations on your case completion!!!

Does the embassy mail Packet 4 to the SO or do they pick it up?

  7. I knew from the NVC website that I need to send my wife's passport photocopy along with DS230-I to NVC. Yesterday I received DS230 instruction and went to the website to double check and found that I need to complete and send both parts of DS230 to NVC (part-I signed, part-II not) and need to send the originals and photocopies of her BC, police certificate, and our MC. Then I called and talked to a live operator this morning and was informed that no need to send other documents except the passport photocopy with DS230-I. Now I am confused what to do. Should I rely on her (risk-receive a RFE) or should I send all originals to NVC now(risk-lose all originals)

    Please advise

Looks like you have to send all to NVC. It has been effective from July 13, 2007. For certain U.S. Embassies and Consulates, NVC provides additional document collection and review, and schedules the cases for interview. DOS refers to these embassies and consulates as Appointment Posts.

We did not have to send all, as we completed our process last year. Previously, only few countries' (Phillippines, Lebanon, etc) applicants required to send all documents to NVC. Here is the link that I have found that about this change.

I have a co-worker friend who applied for his wife in Bangladesh this year. He just sent the photocopy with DS230-I in September. Case was completed in October with no RFE. I would call and speak to another NVC rep.

  8. Hi Everyone,

I just received an email notification that my case was approved. My NOA2 was mailed out Dec 11, 2007. So I'm here awaiting it's arrival. I'm so excited. The journey continues. Well, I know I will have more questions along the way, but until that time comes I'll just celebrate this joyous moment.

Thanks for all the help. Any everyone awaiting. Have Faith.

    Congratulations!!! :dancing:

  9. Goodnite everyone. Just wanted to spread the good news that my husband has an interview 1/28/08.:dance::thumbs: I'm soooo excited and happy that we're finally coming to an end of the process. Question....I've asked him before to find his vaccination records but he nor his mother know where they are. Has anyone gone to a clinic and gotten them done before the actual medical appt?

Congratulation on obtaining an interview! Are you going to attend with your husband? I agree with Kimmy. Just let your husband go to the medical and pay the required vaccination fees. Also, be sure to have him get a copy of his shot records before he leaves the doctor's office.

Thanks. I do plan on being there for his interview. I haven't seen him since September so I can't wait! :D
