Seems what they are doing is that the flights are to individual regions so if you come from Moscow area you need to be on that flight.
They took only 61 passengers from JFK. Only residents from Moscow - I`m not. But rule regarding entry before Dec 31, 2019 applies to everyone. Meaning even if I did live in Moscow I would not be allowed on a flight. Or any other repatriation flight from anywhere in the world that they are arranging.

On what basis would you AOS?
Parent of US citizen. I don`t wanna fall into unlawful presence if i-539 gets denied. Or if border closure continues for long time.

Hello!
I`m on B2 visa. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in my country issued rules regarding repatriation flights. They will not put anyone on repatriation flight if one left country before Dec, 31 2019. They turned away hundreds yesterday in JFK from flight based on this and other rules (checking stamps in their passports). They basically flew empty plane back. I am not able to even get on waiting list because of this.
Now..I`m both eligible to apply for i-539 extension and family based AOS. Whats is best/legal option?

if it is denied, the overstay is calculated from that date and the visa cancelled. On receipt of the denial the person has to leave immediately- any overstay from that point on also accrues unlawful presence.
If i-539 gets denied: upon receipt of notice is it still possible to apply for family based AOS if otherwise eligible? Or would that be illegal?

How can we best handle the situation; being sure if they're going to want her to fly back on her May 7th return flight we have booked? Will the airlines reschedule if UCSIS allows the delay, or expect us to cancel and pay again later?
Contact the airlines directly or booking agent regarding flight. We were given voucher to be used for any date available within 1 year.

Hi everyone good day to all, this is what's going on right now my 70+ in-laws who came here last November 27 on a visitor Visa with a return flight for May 21 but since this virus happened I tried to get them a earlier flight home but no luck so their flight for May was cancelled so what options do I have now? I don't want them to over stay
You can use form i-539 to file for extension. There are repatriation flights but very specific rules apply. Some countries wont repatriate anyone who left before Dec, 31 2019. Check with you embassy. Also consider is it safe for elderly people to fly now?

My parents are currently on B2 Visa and arrived here in the US last year, there return flight was March 31, 2020 and there stay is good until May 15, 2020 only, and due to Corona Virus, Pakistan closed international flights on March 20, 2020, Now my parents are stuck, I just filed (I-539 + I-539A paper) to extend there stay here with me so in-case if flights still closed till May 15, there should have there extend visa, Do you think that USCIS worker still working and able to get response before May 15 ?
Thy can remain in US while i-539 pending. Once they have the decision, if the extension is approved, they can stay through the expiration date of that new extension.

Homeland wont put me on repatriation flight. Whats best to do?

Yes we talked about that with my son. I`m already retired. So we were looking at private insurance cost. I`m quite healthy, no underlying conditions. On that note....while AOS pending do I need to have private insurance right away? or will travel insurance be ok in the beginning (which I already have)? maybe you happen to know
