  1. (I-130 US Citizen applying for spouse)

In Nov 2019, I received a letter from the NVC. They returned my case to USCIS upon request.
I contacted USCIS multiple times and they still had not received my case.
In April 2020, I contacted USCIS. They stated, "Our records indicate that on May 10, 2017, your case was sent to National Visa Center. Our records do not show the file being returned."
I contacted the NVC again; they told me thats strange because the case has been recieved by the USCIS.
I called the USCIS again; they transfered me to a higher tier officer. The officer stated that my case is with the NVC and their records dont show the case being returned.I am confused because the NVC status on the ceac site also states that the case is no longer with them.

I think my case is lost.
I hired an attorney, however my attorney has been telling me to be patient and wait (since dec 2019).

    Please advise.

I contacted the NVC again; they told me the case is with the USCIS.

I called the USCIS again; they transfered me to a higher tier officer. The officer stated that my case is with the NVC and their records dont show the case being returned. The officer also told me that I should be receiving an interview date. I am confused because the NVC status info on the ceac website states that the NVC is waiting for supporting documents.

But calling the NVC, they are telling me the case is not with them.

What should I do? I think my case is lost.

    note:

I have a case number and paid all the fees. I also submitted IV application. My next step was submitting civil and financial documents.

Their I130 application was approved without any issues. We have applied for Immigrant visa and have received a confirmation that our application has been received and is in processing. There has been no update from NVC since then. I would like to know how much time it will take and if I can apply their visit visa while NVC is processing our immigrant visa.

We contacted NVC at their email id AskNVC@state.gov<mailto:AskNVC@state.gov> and below is their response. They said that the application was sent back to USCIS. We contacted USCIS and USCIS said that the application is with the Department of state. Please let me know, who would be the correct contact to provide us a status of the visa. Any thoughts or suggestions?

    NVC reply:

We returned immigrant visa petition BMBXXXXXXXXXXXX to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If you have more questions about this case, please contact USCIS.

    USCIS case status:

Case Was Sent To The Department of State: On January 22, 2017, we sent your case, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, to the Department of State for visa processing. Please visit our website for general information on Consular Processing.
