I apologise if my post is in the wrong place but I’m having difficulty navigating this site as it’s just been recommended I take a look. I was wondering what are the chances of me being accepted into the USA on a work permit and eventually being able to receive citizenship, I have a combined degree in criminology and psychology and have been working for the metropolitan police for the last three years as a Police Constable, I understand that you can not be a Police Officer in the US without citizenship I have experience in a number of security roles as well and would love for work in one of these fields.
However everything I seem to look at online just makes it more complicated, my father in law is living in America without citizenship and I have limited contacts there, but have seen there are a variety of police jobs you can do without citizenship and just a work permit as long as you are applying for citizenship but would I be considered for citizenship?
This is more of a long term plan but I’m aware the process will be lengthy.
