  1. Hellow every body

I have filed the petetion for my mother & the paper works running with NVC. I also submited the ds3032 & suggested me as agent.

I mailed I 864 & I 864A ( from my wife) also mailed Iv Fee yesterday by express mail.

Today I heared the automated recorded message from NVC saying that there is missing or incomplete documents. But I am sure I did not missed any thing with I 864. The message also says that they are mailed the letter to me on APril 08/2008.

I had mailed the following documents

    1 I 864 signed by me.

2 I864A signed by my wife.

3 Joint Tax returns with all w2s for last three years.

4 Job letter for me & for my wife.

5 Resident proof for my wife.

Now I am confused after hearing the message about missing one as I am sure I mailed every thing.

Is it due to the IV fee that just reached to Saint Louis & still not entered in the system.

    What may be?

    Please guide me.

I am going through the same thing. I sent my 1864EZ first and then sent my IV bill when I received it. I got a letter saying that they were missing my IV fee dated 4/5/08. I mailed the IV bill + $400 on 3/31/08 so I'm hoping that they have just crossed in the mail or something and that my $400 was not lost. I've been trying to call the NVC all day and the line has been busy. I'm hoping that it should be entered into the system soon because I would hate to think they lost a money order for $400 bucks!

  2. I'm sitting here 6 months after my case was filed waiting for my I129F portion to be approved so I can get on with my K3 visa, (which is supposed to be the faster Visa). I waited until my receipt date was current and then decided to call and see what was going on with my case. On the online status it still says it's being processed. On the phone it still says it's being processed. So I decided I would try to talk to a PERSON instead of that damn machine.

The first lady said it was cancelled and that they sent the other portion to the NVC and that I should call them. I called the NVC and they said they don't have anythign to do with whether it goes through as a K3 or CR1. They just process what they get and that I should call USCIS back and pick my bone with them. So I did. I got the most incompetent lady EVER. She kept putting me on hold before she even asked for my receipt number. I had to keep repeating myself over and over and I am a very articulate person (if I do say so myself!! and I do say so!). She didn't even know what an I129F was... All I could do was roll my eyes and think to myself where the hell they found her. So after she put me on hold again, she comes back reading me some email she supposedly got saying that as of July 31 or something like that, they are cancelling all I129Fs that are sent in as K3 and processing the I130 only.

IS THAT ALLOWED? Mind you I have received NO notification of this whatsoever! I said to her does she realize that this is going to slow my case down. She got all snooty with me and told me that there was nothing else she could do...which i'm sure there isn't but she didn't have to be all snooty about it. LOL

Anyway, HOW THE HELL CAN THEY CANCEL PART OF YOUR PETITION WITHOUT NOTICE and give you the slower visa? HAs this happened to anyone else?

Sorry for the long post, I tend to be a bit long winded when I'm pissed! :)

    Thanks everyone!

  3. Hello Everyone,

So now I am so stressed out. My fiance went to his interview today, he was told that he paperwork was all in order but they told him that I need to be there. So now I have to go to Dom. Rep. This is all too crazy.

Don't worry, just do what they want. the exact thing happen to us,I also ahd to travel ASAP and made all the arragments in 2 days to be with my husband for a second interview a week later, The CO told my husband all the paperwork was fine but we'd like to see us together and interview both of us Just be prepared for all the qustions they may ask.

    Good luck

    God bless

    Abby

I am soo sorry that I'm so late reading this post. Had I been here, I could have told you for SURE you NEED to go to the interview with your fiance. The Dominican Republic is probably one of the highest countries on the list when it comes to visa fraud and I think they really want to see the two of you intereacting together and make sure you are not cousins or any crazy madness like that. The DR is not like most other countries where the petitioner can be there or not. YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE THERE. Pack your bags chica and head on down. I'm sure your boss will understand. Good luck with the interview.

Just curious...were you ever on the waiting list they had down there?

  4. Ok, un-depress yourself! The thing about the USPS, once you give them your package, you can't get it back...so for future reference, do not try. It's against the law *I think* for them to give you your package back once they have received it. Secondly, I doubt that the USCIS will send your package back. What they probably will do is send you a notice letting you know that they can't proceed with your case until you send them the remainder of the fee. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't cash the check they gave you and just ask you for the rest. This may delay your case a little but I don't think you need to be depressed about it. Also, make sure when you are pulling forms to be filled that you go to the USCIS website and get the latest form...the new forms should have the payment due and all that information on it. If you are using old forms and not checking for new ones, you will further delay your case. Just do a little extra leg work before you send your packets out and you'll be just fine.

Stop stressing...and trust me--the gov't will get what they need from you. No worries about that.

Thanks, I hope you are right. I was actually very careful with everything --tripple checking everything before I sealed the envelope. But, of course, I neglected the obvious. It took a while for me to gather all the information, including getting my wife to sign the forms and getting them back to me, and then USCIS went and chaged stuff on me.

I guess I'll find out in a few weeks...

Yeah, just relax. You'll find out. Everything will be fine. Don't worry!

  5. Just great... I just sent off my I-130 yesterday (8/27) with $190.00.

I guess they will trash the whole thing.

Does anyone know if they will send my I-130 packet back to me?

    ...this really stinks.

I just tried every means possible to get the packet back from the USPS -no dice. I called the USCIS but I could not get a live person.

    Depressing.

  6. Have any of you been able to get in touch with your loved ones thus far? I'm thanking God that the hurricane basically missed my husband's area of the Dominican Republic other than some heavy rains and stuff --and I'm praying for those that have people in Jamaica.

I hope all is well under the circumstances.

  7. You may want to also send a PM to twincactus because he knows a lot about immigration to the DR and has a bit of an inside scoop on things in the consulate down there.

I would not cancel either petition. I would leave both on the list and most likely you will probably be married two years by the time your interview comes so you'll automatically get the IR1 anyway. I think they automatically do that now days down there. But Tim should be able to tell you better because he's been at it longer and has already gone through the process where as I'm just getting started.

  8. Thanks G&A!!

The good news is, I recieved my NOA today!! YEA!!!!! I'm going to send out my next packet either tomorrow (our main post office here is open on Sundays) although I know it won't go anywhere tomorrow, but I know it'll be in the pile to go out first thing Monday morning! I'm happy about this...

Thanks everyone for your support! I'm finally moving! I know my road is 10,000 miles and I'm only on mile 1, but it feels good to not still be at mile 0.

Got papers to fill out so I gotta stop typing before this becomes a book!

  9. It appears to depend on the consulate. The US Embassy and Consulate Info section of this site has a field for each consulate to answer this question. The Panama page doesn't display an answer, but you may have answered it in your post. :)

I know for the Dominican Republic, if you don't go to the interview with your beneficiary (unless there are extenuating circumstances that they know about ahead of time), you're probably going to get denied. You should probably call the consulate in Panama and ask them. Or if you have the money and you want to go, you should go. It might make it easier on your SO. I feel like it's best anyway, whether it's required or not. I don't want my husband to go through the interview alone. I'd rather be there with him so as soon as it's over and we have his visa in our hands we can give each other a big hug and kiss and celebrate together in person after such a long haul.

  10. G, How were you able to check the status without having a receipt number? Is there another way? And do you think that I should wait until I receive something before I send the I129F or just send it? I don't want to screw anything up and I did see on one of the USCIS sites that if you send something before they ask you to, it could delay your case.

The receipt number will be stamped on the back of your check when it gets deposited.

    -sjb!

OH thanks so much...LOL, they haven't even cashed the check yet...

Sorry folks if I sound like I have no clue. It's cuz I really don't! LOL...but I'm a fast learner so please be patient with me. Thanks for your help SJB!! Much appreciated!

  11. We are STILL waiting for our I130 NOA1...

  12. I'll have to post pictures of my pre-wedding dinner some time. We went to a really nice restaurant, and he showed up in bright pink safari-themed scrubs! *cry*

YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO POST THE PICS OF THAT!!! THAT IS HILARIOUS. I think your dad sounds great! I'm sure it's annoying to you but he sounds like I would be in stitches all the time if I knew him! Just take it easy! I understand where you're coming from. Dear old Dad may never really get it...but pretty soon your husband will be all adjusted and you won't have to explain it anymore after that. Good luck, girly!

  13. LOL, that was such a funny story! You gotta love dear old dad though! He's really hooking you up here! I've noticed that most people know nothing about immigration (I was in that boat myself until I was faced with having made a love connection in another country) so it might take a little time for him to grasp some of the concepts. Unfortunately if you have not already sent the papers in, you will have to pay the higher fees. So don't even stress about it now. It's all water under the bridge. And think about it like this...at least your husband is here. Have dad go on and order his transcripts. They usually come pretty quickly. But I was DYING laughing that he penciled in a form half way and gave that to you. Your dad is HILARIOUS!

Best wishes, and relax...everything will work out just fine!

  14. Hi Everybody!

I sent out my I-130 packet on 7/19 to the VSC and I got a notice back (the return receipt slip from the USPS) saying that they received it on 7/23. HOWEVER, I have not received an NOA1 and I'm starting to wonder what's going on. I see a lot of people have gotten their NOA1 from VSC within a couple of days of reciept and I'm wondering what's going on with mine. I am probably just being impatient but I would like to get my next packet sent to them ASAP and the longer I wait for the NOA1 the longer the I129F will be getting out. Do I actually have to wait for the NOA1 to send out my I129F?

Thanks for all your help. I'm probably just panicking prematurely here, but when I see over a year wait (and possibly even two or more) ahead of me, I want to get the papers in ASAP. I think every day I lose is probably about 500-100 spaces on the dreaded waiting list in the DR consulate.

    Thanks everyone!

  15. Did any of the ladies reading this message not change their name right away? Do you think that if I have all the other evidence of a bonafide marriage but have just not officially changed my name just yet that it will have an effect on my petition?

I am applying to the slowest consulate in the world so I have a couple of years (give or take) before my interview but do you think that not changing it right away will have any bearing on my I130 and I129F being approved? Thanks!!

  16. LOL, the Government is making a KILLING! And Lorenzo, you are absolutely right especially in my case where I'm going through the slowest consulate on the planet!! I'm sure many relationships from the DR have broken up just on the difficult feat that it is to be in a long distance relationship. But I plan to stick it out to the bitter end, no matter how long it takes or how high the fees get.

I just hope and pray with the butt load of money they are charging that they get some new consuls in the Dominican Consulate. I'm going to stay positive. I think the less you think about it, the faster the time goes by.

  17. Hi Guys!

Here's the thing: Say i am applying for a K-3 Visa and sent my I-130 (190 USD) before the fee increase deadline (i.e., July 27, 2007) then i received my NOA1 August 6, 2007 - how much will i pay for sending my I-129F? Will the old fee apply? Will it be free according to the new guidelines?

    Thanks! :D

That was my question exactly. I sent my I130 on 7/19 with $190. I am thinking that the NOA1 might tell us what to pay. If it does not, I will just send my I129F with no payment and see what they say. It seems like no one really knows the answer to this.

  18. I'm really surprised that people with fiance(e)s from first world countries are hearing this. I expect to get this from people because my husband is from a third world country that is very poor. So I've heard all the warnings, etc. I got so tired of hearing it that I have just cut those people off for the most part until he gets here. The best way that I can prove to people that he's a good man is to just wait till he gets here and let him show them himself. My family however has been very supportive of my decision (the ones I have told, at least). There are only a few people who know everything. I have decided that I am going to keep my business to myself because the only people whose opinions matter in this situation are mine and the one that I love.

  19. Hello everyone....

I'm a little new. I just sent off my I-130 today with the $190 fee since it's before 7/30. I see that if you are filing the I-129F afterwards as a K3 (which I am doing) and you file it after the 7/30 date, there is no fee for the I-129F...so does that mean that I might be making out like a bandit here and only having to pay $190 for the whole thing??? I didn't read anything about any exceptions or anything so if anyone knows of any please let me know! I guess I could just wait and see, I'm sure if I send my packet in without the payment, they will happily return it to me with open palms waiting for their payment. :D

Thanks. I apologize for not introducing myself and updating my profile...I'll work on that as soon as I get my next batch of paperwork together!!
