For us it was almost 4 weeks from approved expedite to interview letter. 
Another 20 days until Interview date.

I'm preparing my documents and am wondering if I should prepare the DS5540 or if they really don't want to see it anymore.

We requested for expedite and got approved July 31 - received the interview date on Aug. 28.

I guess in the case of expedites the documents get send straight to the embassy. I never received an email that our forms are approved. The interview is next week, let's hope everything will work out. 😬

update: we just received our interview date for the 18th of Sept. Yayy!!

just curious - did you request for NVC expedite? We did get our request for expedite approved but nothing is happening for a month already.

However - Happy for you about the appointments  

Hopefully the rest gets theirs soon too. Fingers crossed.

Also still waiting. Seems like the consulate received our cases all at the same time / beginning of August...

I emailed them again since there is no way to get a hold of them over the phone. But I just receive the same message: We've received your case blabla... I guess that means --- more waiting 🍺

Hi All - Has anyone heard from the embassy? I find the wait really frustrating...

I called them last week as I also haven't heard from them yet. They said to email to frankfurtvisainquiries@state.gov. This was the response I got :

Yes, in a non-pandemic-situation I would totally agree with you on this.

I personally assume that once the embassies reopen, it will be harder again to get an expedite approval. Just a feeling, no facts!  

I would recommend everybody to request for NVC expedite due to emotional hardship in case you have no other reasons. I followed these guidelines  http://www.lovevisalife.com/2017/09/nvc-expedite-request-us-spouse-visa/ and received an approval within 9 days (Seems like approvals are being sent out on Friday nights). Good luck everybody!
