  1. Hi Jigi, I depart for my wife's interview the day after tomorrow. Just stay strong brother. Talk to your wife daily if need be, and let her know how much you love her everyday. Trust me bro, every little bit helps. I have called my wife everyday for the last 9 months. By the grace of God, I am going to get my wife. I pray that all goes well for me, I will also pray that all goes well for you too. Though, not to take away from your fire, but you may not get approved in 5 days, my best friend got approved in 7, and he got married only 2 weeks after me. So just hang in there bro. Your right there. Shortly, you're case should be completed and mailed out, then you should be able to get an interview date.

Just a small hint for you bro, after your case is mailed from the NVC, the NVC will know nothing about it. You need to contact the Dept of State at (202) 663-1225, option 1, then option 0 to get through to an operator. Once your case has been mailed, give them 5 business days and call once a day there after until you find out as to whether your case has been deliverd or not. They can tell you if the embassy received it, when processing has commenced, and when your interview date is. I got my interview date from the Dept of State a full 9 days before my embassy even notified me. Good luck to you and your wife brother. Be happy and stay strong for eachother.

  2. You have his child in your belly, I would hope that is bonafide evidence enough. What kind of cold inconsiderate world are we living whereby people don't view a baby as a sign of commitment. Honestly Angel, I think you should try to get your senator or congressman involved. you can find the best way to contact them here:

    http://www.visi.com/juan/congress/index.html

Tell them your situation and perhaps they can help you out. If they can't I would like to recommend that you contact an immigration lawyer to find out exactly what is needed so that the case can be approved. Trust me, I know what a wedding costs mentally, physically, and financially. It would be so much more worth for you to hire an immigration lawyer to complete your case and re-unite you with your husband and re-unite your child with his father. My heart goes out to ya.

I'll put in a prayer for you. Be persistent and try to weather the storm. Keep your husband near you as much as possible and go and visit him whenever financially possible and start taking pictures and build up evidence. Use affidavits from famil members supporting your marriage if you have to, but DO NOT GIVE UP. You won't be able to live with yourself if you give up after coming so far, especially when you know that you could have done something else that may have been better for your and your child's life.

    Regards,

    Esaam

it is where you don't have enough proof to prove ur case or marriage in boni fied
  3. So far I've been getting very helpful answers. Some insightful, some umm helped out a little. Anyway, my question of the day is, when I return to America along with my wife, I will have connecting flight from JFK, New York -to- DTW,Detroit with a layover of 9+ hours in New York. My question is, will my POE be JFK then? OR will it be DTW? Does it make a difference as to whether I leave the terminal or not, or do I stay in the terminal if I want to designate DTW as my POE?

  4. As far as criteris goes for documentation, you may want to double check with your embassy on this, but in my case, they wanted my wife's police certificate translated to english, then they wanted another document signed and dated by the translator saying that whatever was translated has the same meaning in english, and that he is competent enough in the language to translate teh document.

    hi everybody

do you know if i have to translate the police certificate ,i'm waiting for ds 230 to arrive

    thanks

  5. Well the instructions for medical exam's are part of packet 4 which is sent out after your interview date has been set. However, there is a way around this in that if you contact the us embassy in pakistan, they should provide you with a list of approved doctors. once you go to those doctors they will exam you and give you any vaccinations that you do not have. As far as the criteria for the medical exam, that too can also be provided by the embassy. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone. I am new at this forum and would really appreciate it if someone could help me out with my vaccinations problems. I am from Pakistan and am expecting my CR-1 Visa interview call in a month's time hopefully. Before that I need to get my vaccinations done and I am totally clueless about them. I have no record of my childhood vaccinations and havent gotten any shots recently. Can someone please tell me which are the required vaccinations which a person needs in Pakistan?! Can someone plz give me a list?? I am desperate here!!
  6. Contact the Department of State at (202) 663-1225. Dial option 1(one), then option 0(zero) to get through to an operator. If your case has already been completed, the embassy should have already received it. The Department of State should be able to help you out, they were able to tell me when my case was delivered to the embassy, when they started processing, and when they scheduled an interview for my wife.

Be precise, polite and to the point, they are nice people there. All you need to do is tell them that you want to knwo the status of your case, and then give them your case number and your beneficiaries name, and sometimes the date of birth of your beneficiary. Best wishes to you. Feel free to use my timeline as a guide. Oh, and as far as packet 4 goes, your beneficiary WILL receive it AFTER your interview date has been issued and you will be sent a copy of packet 4 shortly after.

My case was completed September 24th and according to the NVC operator, The NVC makes appointments the second week of the month

( mid- October ), becuase my case was completed after the 15th of September.

My question is; would I be getting a Novmber or December appointment for interview. I guess the packet 4 will arrive after interview date has been set.

    3/14/07: I-130 accepted by USCIS

6/01/07: Case approved and forwarded to NVC

    6/15/07: NVC assigned case number

7/17/07: DS-3032 and AOS accepted by NVC

    8/06/07: Mailed IV bill

    8//13/07:Mailed I-864

    8/20/07: DS-230 Mailed from NVC

    9/06/07: Rcd DS-230

    9/08/07: Mailed DS-230

9/14/07:DS 230 Part I and Passport Biographic Pages Received by NVC

    9/24/07:NVC Completed The Case

  7. Contact the Department of State at (202) 663-1225. Dial option 1(one), then option 0(zero) to get through to an operator. If your case has already been completed, and it has been as long as you say it has, then the embassy whould have already received it. Perhaps they got your information mixed with someone elses, or maybe they sent out packet 4 to an undeliverable address. The Department of State should be able to help you out, they were able to tell me when my case was delivered to the embassy, when they started processing, and when they scheduled an interview for my wife.

Please be cordial and polite, they are nice people there. All you need as your case number and your beneficiaries name, and sometimes the date of birth of your beneficiary. In the extreme unlikely, but possible event that your cae may have been lost in transit, ask them what course of action is available to you. Best of luck to you, our prayers are with you.

  8. Now I know that this will probably be a dumb question, but does it really matter

where your Port of Entry (POE)is located? I ask such because, traveling out of

NYC is $600 cheaper, and when I return my POE will be JFK, NYC. My question

is that my Local USCIS center is located in Detroit, MI, will having my POE in

NYC impact my case in anyway? Or is it better if I change my POE so that I

arrive in Detroit MI. Thanks for any helpful responses.

  9. Sorry let me clarify what I’m talking about. I had sent an email to the consulate/embassy in Mumbai asking if they received my package from the NVC (my case was sent on the 6th).

The reply I got was the following:

“We have received the packet 3 forms”

I’m not really sure what this means? Isn’t the packet 3 forms SENT by the consulate to my wife after the interview is set?

    Hey dude,

If you are a US Citizen, just call the Dept of State at (202) 663-1225. Dial option 1(one), then option 0 (zero)

to get through to the operator. Once there, just ask them you would like to inquire about the status of your

case. Give them your case number and beneficiary's name. I found out when the Embassy recevied my

case and also found out my interview date as well.
