  1. I dont see anywhere in there where i BLAMED you, if you read that, its not my fault, i was making a statement and nothing more. but still, the thread has to do with UNFAIR FEES.

Mm-hmm. Sure seemed like you were blaming me.

It's not like I'm the first or only person on this thread who has ever hijacked a thread but given how people are reacting it sure seems like they think I am.

As for UNFAIR FEES...I don't think the fees are unfair at all and I think the OP is whining. Life's not fair, and if the ONLY thing she has to b!tch about is high immigration fees...well whoopty-doo...I'm having a real hard time having any sympathy. Call me a b!tch, but that's just how I feel.

Just because I don't indulge my personal probems on a website meant to discuss the aspects of obtaining a visa ...Doesn't mean I don't have any ..I never asked for any sympathy ....I just came to this website for help through this whole journey ....not for counseling ....... .obviously you are the one who is whining ....What was that about your Mother in Law ?????....

  2. Okay, I read through this thread from beginning to end and I see only 2 perspectives. those that are against the increase or feel it is unfair and those that disagree with this viewpoint.

It seems for the most part that those who feel the fees are unfair are those who are going through or starting the process and those who disagree are the ones who have been through it. I can undrestand both sides. I am in the middle if the K1 process and will have to fork over a small fortune for AOS and other fees as I go along. Yes, it is absolutely worth it. Fair? It sucks but I would not describe it as unfair. I think we are getting lied to as to the reason for the increase. I think the "just because" approach comes closer to the truth. I don't see the wheels of the visa process speeding up any time soon.

I don't blame the illegals for the shortcomings of our government to police/enforce their own laws. Illegals want a better life too. Our government tends to turn a blind eye to those they cannot control and nail to the wall those that abide by the laws. Old saying, "better to ask forgiveness than permission".

I would like to see more respect given to those who do spend the time and money to do this the proper way. More like a hearty handshake and "Welcome to America" speech when you arrive @POE. Who am I kidding!

Either way, it is what it is. Complaining will do no good. If you don't like it, VOTE!!! If the cost is not worth it, then you are going down the wrong path anyway. Don't blame the illegals, they did not vote for our government. They just take advantage of the situation. If you were in their place you probably would do the same thing.

    Just one man's opinion... :jest:

Thank you ...finally someone understood my point ....jeez

  3. sigh..................

amen..fees go up..it is the illegals fault..gas price rise blame it on the illegals..your kid gets a D on his report card..illegals fault again..

    :lol::lol:

Honestly ...I don't blame anyone who wants to come to our country and start a new life ...My great grandfather snuck over here on a boat years ago ...I live and grew up in a town that is about 75% hispanic ...and it is very likely that the majority of these people are illegal ...My blame does not lie with these people ...they have the same intentions that most of our ancestors had when coming to this country ...and they have the right to be here as much as the next person ....as long as they do it legitimately ....

My blame lies with big business ...those are the ones who bring these people into this country to work for peanuts ....because they'd rather not pay anyone a living wage ...immigrants are some of the hardest working people in this country...and they fill many positions that others are not willing to take ....I feel these fee increases ..in conjuction with this so called "immigration reform " are a way for these corporations to cover their behinds ...so that the finger isn't being pointed at them ...It's the "illegals" who are ruining it for everyone ....is what they want us to believe ...I believe the term is "divide and conquer".....

This is why I feel the fee increase is unfair ....because I am trying to do this by the book ...just like everyone else on this site....I see examples every day of the difficulty that illegal immigrants go through...and I'd rather not subject the man I love to any of this ...After all is said and done we are all just following our dreams of a better life ... It's what this country was founded on ....the "American Dream"....and these fee increases are just a punishment in my eyes ....

  4. I just can't believe these new fees ...I haven't filed my I129f yet since he has decided to come visit in October ...I just think it's awful that they are punishing people such as us ...who want to do things legitimately ...and not illegally like so many others ...If illegal immigration is the problem then why are the people who are doing it legally being punished ???????

  5. My Fiance doesn't have alot of money and lives way up in Newcastle ...but has to go to London for his interview ..He doesn't know anyone in London and will probably have to stay in acheap hotel or something ....can he schedule his exam the same day or the day before his interview ???

My husband and I live in York and we didn't want to have to go down to London twice either.

He had his interview and medical on the same day in 2006. The others are correct; it will slightly delay the approval of the visa, but you can be 'approved' pending a satisfactory medical exam. It is not necessary to have the medical done before the interview.

Cool I just went to York !!!...Loved it there ...so beautiful .....Thanks for the advice :D
