Right at the beginning of her tourist visa application in Manila, she already committed cheating and fraud. How she obtained an authenticated CENOMAR ( Certificate of No Marriage ) from the Census office is questionable because she will be traced upon verification as single or married ( unless there's inside job to hide her marriage certificate). It is really a sad reality and she has to face the consequences. Most of us got here in the US legally through sweat and blood and it's unfair that they have to cheat and commit fraud just to get here. I understand the love that binds, the love that will bind them together but they have to do it right.

Hello all, i have a learners permit, that is valid until 12-20-16 but they added a stamp that reads TEMP VISITOR EXP 05-18-12 (still don't understand why because i was married and had ssn and all needed when i applied for this permit)

I also applied for AOS, and had my interview already.

I went today to have my road test for the driver license and they refused to give me the test because my permit is not valid as im not allowed to stay in the country.

I have SSN as well as employment authorization, marriage certificate and a notice of action stating my permanent residence is approved.

They said nothing of this is prove enough and my stay in the country should be over, so i cant have a drivers license.

Im really upset with this, because since I married my husband Im legally authorized to stay in the country therefore I should be authorized to drive.

I was trying to look for anything on dmv site to let them prove they are wrong, and all i find is aliens are able to have a new york driver license showing "proves of identity" and they are exactly what i have, EAD SSN and marriage certificate. Nothing about removing temp visitor. I called them back and they said I just have to understand that without a green card they are not going to do anything.

Is there anyway i can prove this ladies wrong or i just have to wait until my green card comes and then get another permit and only then apply for my road test again (which in my area is no less than another month wait, plus the month or more to get the green card and new permit).

I remember here in Florida, I was not even issued a learner's license until I presented them my 2 years GC.

Hi. I checked out this option of getting nanny from Philippines as I am having our baby this December, we both working and I am very hesitant to get a nanny without Filipino culture. I want to get nanny in the Philippines with background known by my family in the Philippines. But working visa is not going to work for nanny position as it is not considered special skills and also you have can't just pay minimum wage. Looking for Au Pair is a good idea but most agencies do not cater Filipinos and it's very expensive as you have to pay agency aside from paying for expenses that you're au pair incur just to get here. Getting au pair is not different from getting an American nanny.

You're best bet is to find Filipino in your area.

We sent her back to school to finish High School and we will enroll her to TESDA for a short-term course somewhat similar to CNA here ( certified nursing assistant ). In that way, she will be qualified for being a skilled worker. It is true though that it would take sometime to get her here. I was watching Atty. Gurfinkel's Citizen Pinoy over TFC and they had a topic bringing yaya or katulong from the Philippines. Of course we are not paying her just minimum wage, we love her so much and we won't be mean to her. She's been with the family for more than 30 long years.

So, since this a Filipino thread allow me to explain my side in the language: Una, napagtanto ko na yung iba dito ay talagang di nagbasa o walang alam sa senaryo ng pagkuha ng katulong o yaya sa Pilipinas...sadyang matalas ang pananalita na wari mo yung nagtatanong eh wala talagang kaalam-alam. Gaya ng nabanggit ko, marami akong nabasa at ako'y naguluhan kung ano ang pinakamabuti at pinakatamang gawin. Humihingi ako ng payo hindi pagkutya. Muli, Maraming Salamat sa mga nakaintndi sa aking pakay.

Una, puwedeng kumuha ng yaya sa Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng H1B or yung mga binanggit ng iba dito na au pair. At talagang kailang namin ng yaya para para kaming makapaghanap-buhay.

Pangalawa, kaya kami kukuha ng yaya para sa baby namin ay dahil MAY PAMBAYAD kami.... common sense naman...kukuha ka ba ng katulong na walang pambayad? unless human trafficker ka.....

Pangatlo, yung yaya na kukunin namin ay yaya pa ng aking asawa at dalawa niyang kapatid sapul pa noong 1980's- naging pamilya na siya at hanggang ngayon ay skiya ang tumatao sa bahay-bakasyunan ng aking biyenan.

Pang-apat, nami-miss siya ng tatlong magkakapatid kaya gusto rin nila siyang makapunta na dito.

Talos ko po at aral ko po na ang Labor Dept ng Amerika ay hindi basta-basta nagpapahintulot ng pagkuha ng trabahador sa ibang bansa kung yaman din lang na marami ang kwalipikado dito. Kung kailangan mo talagang kumuha ay kailangan mong magpaliwanag sa Labor.

Me and my wife are planning to petition a yaya for our baby girl who is turning 1 this October. I have been reading lots of info online and now I am getting confused on what particular visa to apply for. Any helpful suggestions to simplify my upcoming application, please. The yaya has been the yaya of my wife and her siblings back in the Philippines and still lives with my wife's family ( taking care of the house ).

It was tough getting job here in Florida! I had high hopes before that I would easily land in a job since I had my master's degree back in the Phil. I arrived here when teachers are being laid off very now and then..that was what I want to do-teaching. My wife kept telling me to be patient. But being a workaholic like me just doesn't want to stay home ...... i got bored...she enrolled me to take CNA and I finished and eventually got licensed..still no adult care facility accepted me.. I am beginning to feel embarrassed, a little bit humiliated every time my wife put some amount on my checking account or going out on a date with her paying the bills. One day, I found myself working as a lot associate in one of the Home Depot store here in Central Florida. I didn't mind if it was just a minimum pay, I just want to help my wife to pay some of the bills we have since she's still paying her student loans. Then a year later, I became a cashier. It was a great a company to work with coz I gained respect which I didn't have when I was in my own country. For now, I am taking one day at a time and I will successfully be in the right job that I want.

I was grade 1 when I used to bring bayabas ( guava ) in the school and 2 of my classmates were asking me to give them some but I told them to buy it

( we still have the square Lapu-lapu coins before

.ha ha ha ha ) That was when I started bringing some other fruits to school ( we have a a lot of fruit trees at home ) and some other times I sold vegetables to my teachers in later grade levels

Yay, I passed my interview yesterday, Aug.8 at Orlando local Office. It was the shortest time I had in the USCIS throughout my visa journey

Well after the longest week of my life since waiting for my wife to get here, we finally have our interview on Monday morning. The funny thing is that I'm all worked up about it but my wife is cool as a cucumber.

We have four binders of documentation and photos, but I still can't help thinking I might be missing something. I guess I'll know in two days.

I had more than what you have prepared but neither of those were checked by the IO, instead he just let me tell my love story, how we met, how will I live my life different from what I used to in the Philippines - and I got the slip. What was nerve-wracking is that my wife had booked my flight i think when I was still waiting for my medical exams. Well, good luck to the both of you and welcome to the USA soon... just keep praying..it helps! :thumbs:

Hi. I'm new here. My wife is a GC and we got married in the Philippines last February 2011. She filed a petition for me when she got back at US around March 2011. Is it true that it would take a long time for us to be reunited? Please help. Infos are greatly appreciated.

You are correct: you will have to mention the traffic citation, but if it's under $500 you are not formally required to provide documentation for it. That said, it's best if you take documentation with you if you have it, just in case the I.O. would like to have a quick look at it, which sometimes happens.

No, a citation has zero impact on your naturalization.

The date you became a resident is in front of your Green Card, any of your Green Cards, where it reads RESIDENT SINCE xx/xx/xxxx. The time you had "only" a 2-year Green Card counts as well.

Just want to let my fellow VJ Supporters know that Olive gets here tomorrow (8/18). She is at Manila right now ready to board her flight to Tokyo. She will arrive at PDX tomorrow (8/18) morning.

This has been a long and hard journey but this part of our journey is over and on Sept 4 we will be getting married.

As just a little side note this is the best birthday gift I have or ever will receive...Thursday is my birthday and Olive will be here to help me celebrate.
