  1. Glad people like the Service Center info.

bailey28, as for your biometrics notice not coming, I would suggest calling USCIS at 1-800-375-5283, telling them you did not get your Biometrics and asking for a "Service Request". We have heard others that did that got their biometrics soon after.

Filipina66, Just_Bob, 2for2 and kappa, did you put in Service Requests to get your biometrics and any update so far?

bailey28, we don't have you on the list, please let us know and put your info in your Forum Signature: look at the small tabs at the top of the page (My Controls, Help, View New Posts, My Assistant, etc). Click on "My Assistant". Then under "VisaJourney Tools" please click on "Edit Forums Signature". A box will come up, just write the date and what happened, like date you sent the Removing Conditions form, date on the NOA1 notice, etc. Then click on "Update my Signature" Then, that signature will appear on ALL your posts, even ones from weeks and months ago! (Please remove the "Ticker Factory" link that is in your signature now, it is not working!)

Thank You E.. I will add my timeline I am was reading that if you did fingerprint 24 months ago they do not ask you to do it again is there any truth to this

  2. I did not have new biometrics done when I filed for my 10 year greencard, I was told that because I had biometrics done within the last 24 months (I had filed a I90 to replace my 2 year card) There was no need to have them redone. I had no issues getting the 10 year card and they had used the same photo as the one on the 2 year card.

Heard they were doing that with the N-400 for USC if your fingerprints were less than 15 months old, but Emilio, the old head of the USCIS told congress, it still cost him 80 bucks to save and retrieve that information so he still charges it. The I-751 also requires a photo, but guess that has changed, but informing you if they are going to use your old stuff, has not. So you are left hanging and wondering what's going on.

Much prefer buying something off the internet for five bucks where you instantly get a confirmation of your order, then a day later, the tracking number for your item. Too bad the USCIS cannot or refuses to operate that way. And your whole life centers around the USCIS wondering when an appointment letter will come in so you can make plans. Perhaps, a letter to your congressman would help, if he received enough of them.

You guys are making me stress cause i have not heard a thing from them, even thought it has just been a month..I have a $900.00 ticket 2 Jamaica i want 2 use for our family Vac next year i hope i get my card b4 then or we lose $900.00 we really dont have :crying:

  3. Is there already a thread for this group? If so please point me the way. I did a search and did not find one.

I am doing fine! I couldn't believe it when I saw you! I haven't been in this forum in a loooooooong time. I almost forgot my password and name! ha ha ha ha. Now nervous again. I forgot what it was to be dealing with immigration. I am going to Hawaii in two weeks, so i am hoping that the biometric appointment is not scheduled during that week. It was nice to hear back from you!

  5. my 2 year card expires on june 22,09 i will send in package 2marrow can i still go 2 work when my green card expire

To answer your question. NOA stands for notice of action. After you file I-751. After some time (can be from 1 week to over a month) USCIS will send you NOA. They might send you NOA before they cash your check or after (which happens most of the time but they have sent NOA before cashing checks, make you have sufficient funds for the check) and after some time they will send you biometric appointment letter to have your finger prints plus photo taken a location near by called Application Support Center.

NOA is a receipt of acceptance for your 751 application and it also serves as a temp GC for 1 yr, meaning it extends your work and stay for 1 Yr. e.g. GC expires 04-01-09 will be extended to 04-01-10. So it's just temp GC until your case is approved and you get 10 Yr GC.

Now to your situation. Once can apply any time within and not before the 90 days window prior to expiration to GC but not after.

You should have applied at least 50-60 days before expiration of your GC to give yourself time to get NOA and buy yourself time, just in case they send back your application for some reason and you have to send it back to them again.

I would advice you to send the package via USPS express mail and send a money order for application plus biometric which I and another member did and got NOA within a week. It's not a rule but I think money order is faster. Choice is your, you can still use a check. Double check your document as you are almost near the edge.

Read this thread for complete list of document for I-751 and also to make sure you got all the necessary evidence and paper in order.

I think until you don't get NOA you should work as USCIS hasn't given you the permission too. Because your 2 Yr. GC (work and stay) is expired and you don't a new one from them i.e NOA.

My suggestion would be wait until the NOA arrives and then continue to work.

The best course of action would be to apply ASAP before GC expires and make an infopass ASAP to double check with the immigration officer what to do next.

    https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php

Will tell you the USCIS field office based on your location.

On the 1st page choose "You need Service on a case that has already been filed " and then on the next page choose "If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment."

Ask the immigration officer there, that you applied and should to continue to work or not.

    Good Luck.

Thank you i have the money order for 545.00 and i will over night it 1st thing in the morning...i just hope i don't lose my job and please pray for me that i get the extention letter with in a week ...i am soooo stressed out

  6. OK. So we've made it this far without any RFEs. But his pisses me off.

    We sent:

    3 years of tax returns

    Joint leases throughout our marraige

title and morgtage papers saying we bought a house together.

8 months of current utility bills

joint car insurance bills for 2.5 years

proof we are both certified to be foster parents

proof we are both members of our church

We do NOT have joint checking accounts.

So what more...besides affidavents from others (can I use friends and family?) do they want?

I'm pregnant...which really doesn't prove anything since the baby isn't born yet. But should I include that evidence as well. What else can I possibly send them.

How about 401k and life insurance and health insurance

  7. I am getting my stuff ready , but when i look at how many stuff some ppl send i wonder do they read all of that? :) i am going to send my health insurance info, life insurance, lease, bank statements, credit card statements, 403b info, letters from friends, bills and tax returns oh yeah and some of our fun family pics. I hope that will be enough i wish everyone good luck and lasting marriage :luv:
