  1. Thanks everyone.

    one more thing my parents are planning on moving to a new home in CA, now since all of our mails come there do you think USCIS would forward my husband's green card to the new address or u think it would become a problem w/providing them with a new address;

And approx. how long does it take to receive SSN, GC in the mail after POE?

    Thanks

    Farah

  2. 2ond journey, thank you very much. Yep there may be different reasons to put them on AP, When we entered the embassy there were 14 immigrant cases already.because we reached on the 2nd shuttle.

I am not arguing with any body but let you know clearly, that i within 4 hours that we spent in embassy observed 8 guys, whose petitioners were there wives, got approved with out AP.

two were sheikhupura, 1, narowal ,and 2 sahiwal .I taked to 5 persons out of eight and the remainin 3 i did not know, but listened the visa officer saying collect your passport after 11 days.

I did not know what happened after that.

Moreover my wife has 4 trips to London , one south Africa, 5 times to Dubai.

I observed the incomplete and suspicious documents( suspicious means not personally related to you) and the answers you give make them to put you on AP.

The reasons that i have give not directly but indirectly change the point of view of the visa officer.

    WITH BEST WISHES ZORRO KHAN

Moreover my wife last name also khan.

    Team,

You all are confusing Administrative REVIEW with administrative PROCESSING. Admininistrative processing = security check (which is for 99% males in a specific age group) and REVIEW is what Zorro is referring to.

May Allah SWT assist us all~Ameen

My husband was on AP for like 6-7 months his first name is very common "Muhammad" and also works + lives in the UAE. I would just say AP is random can happen to anyone. But its very painful and hard to wait 6-7 months to find out if you receive the visa or not. Well best of luck to everyone out there and I pray that no one has to go through the painful wait like I had to. Thanks to Mary for all the emotional support. Love this Site.

  3. Petitioner B.C. , Have they ever asked the Beneficiary for the Petioner's B.C at the embassy? Just wondering if I should send it or not?

I never sent the original, but i did send two copies just in case they decide to ask for it.

    Hi,

just wanted to ask you what is the number of DOS and how to contact them regarding AP on my case, secondly how did you got your case expedite and where did you call and what did you say.

    reply will appreciated.

    Thanks

    Saqib

+12026631225 here is the number, have you case number ready (ISL??????????) and the beneficary's birthdate.

I called ISB and told them that Im expecting and wanted to know how much longer it will take and if my husband will be here in time for my delivery the guy laughed and said he will put in a request, But I also asked the guy if he could some how expedite the case and he put in a request and thats how it worked for me. I would say within a week or so we receieved an email from ISb to come and pick up visa.

    hope this helps

  4. hey guys

I think my husband just screwed up on the booking:

    abu dhabi --> Amsterdam

    amsterdam--> detroit

    Detroit --> Los Angeles

now Detroit would be his Point of Entry right?? but the problem is that we have 2hr transit time to catch the flight for LA and I am that it will probably take about 1hr or so at the immigration. Has anyone had any idea approx how long it would take at Detroit Wayne County airport Immigration? Do they transfer our baggage to LA? or if we miss our flight what happens.

    thanks any info would help.

  5. Hey everyone,

Finally we picked up my husband's visa today. we were at the diplomatic enclave at 6:00am, 7:15am at the embassy Line and got out of the embassy at 3:30pm. It was a very very long wait but thank god we rcv'd the visa same day. I will be flying back to CA in July with my husband inshallah.

There was also another male K-3 Visa interview he also recvd visa approval the same day and was told that he will get his visa via American Ex 2wks.

Well all I have to say is that this has been the most helpful site even more than my own lawyer. :)

I hope everyone who is waiting recieves his/her visa asap and doesnt hopefully have to endure what AP waiters go thru.

  11. Assalam-o-Alaikum!

I haven't written in a while so I thought i'd chime in and give a status update on my wife's CR-1 (spousal visa) case. Her interview was in Islamabad, Pakistan on July 3rd 2007. She was placed under A/P. I tend to call the Dept of State on a weekly basis with the hopes of good news. April will be 9 months and I am getting more and more depressed. Other than giving us the information that our application is pending....it's really frustrating. My wife and I keep kicking ourselves thinking maybe if we had done a different visa. Perhaps we could have changed her last name which incidentally is Khan (doesn't help  ) I pray for all of us on AP that we are reunited with our spouses soon. Thank God we have technology to keep us connected and somewhat together.

I am still very much interested if there are any other CR-1 Applicants who had their interviews in July 2007 in Islamabad for the US. If you write to the Embassey in Islamabad in that automated response it states that until you have been in AP for 10 months not to bother even contacting them. Has any of us contacted the embassey post 10 months wait?? Do they actually do anything? Thanks VJ for letting me ramble. Thanks and God Bless

    Hi all,

my husband has been on AP over 7months, I was emailing the ISB embassy as well i was getting the same automated response wait 10months and then email them. I emailed the ISB last wk or so and told them i was expecting and wanted to know if my husband would make to see his first child's delivery then the guy said he would put a request to DC for expediting the case. Other than that I havent contacted them via phone. Now the other thing is my husband work's and lives in Abu Dhabi, but since we got married in Pakistan he had to go there for the interview.

Other than that just keep hope that Inshallah this will all be over soon.

  12. Jaxguy congratulations on having your family home now.

Mary I am still waiting for my husband's case, called DOS said case is going in and out of AP. Now Mary is there anyway that you think they might deny the case at the end once it has finished being in and out of AP? I am now looking at other options incase something goes bad , though trying to stay very optimsitc.

    Thanks in advance

    Farah

  13. hi everyone,

  14. hey guys I also have a question,

my husband's permanent home address and work location is in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for the past 6 years, but his family back in pakistan is moving to another city I wanted to know that do we need to file or notify a change of address with ISB? (because the previous pakistan home address is where we stayed for two weeks after the wedding)

    any input would help

    Thanks in advance

  15. Does anyone have Dubai stopover information?

We will be stopping over in Dubai for one day and like to know the cheapest way for my wife and kids (with pakistani passports and US Immigrant visa stamped) to get the transit visa at the airport.

    Any information is appreciated. Thanks

hey check this link : http://guide.theemiratesnetwork.com/living/visa.php

  17. hey guys my lawyer emailed the ISB "Dear Consul,

A clear copy of petitioner's naturalization certificate

be mailed (not faxed or e-mailed) to our mailing address mentioned

    above.

    AFTER THE INTERVIEW

    1. I appeared at the U.S Embassy for my interview. I was told that

administrative processing is required for my case. What does this mean?

Administrative Processing is a standard procedure

required by law for visa applications. It is a normal process and it

does not mean anything is wrong with your case. The processing is not

completed here at the U.S. Embassy and we have no control over the

processing time, nor any influence on the processing. Some cases take

longer to process than others; this does not necessarily mean anything

is wrong with your case. Once the administrative processing has been

completed, we will continue with your visa application. We will contact

you to let you know when your case is complete, and will ask you to

return your passport if we have not retained it. Once we have printed

your visa, we will return your passport along with the visa packet via

our approved courier. If it has been more than 10 months since your

interview, please e-mail Pakivquery@state.gov with the date of your

interview and case number. However, please note that routine

administrative processing questions for cases less than 10 months will

    not be answered.

    2. I appeared at the U.S. Embassy for my interview. I was

told that I needed to provide additional documentation. What do I need

    to do now?

At the time of your interview, you received a blue

refusal sheet with instructions telling you what to do. In most cases,

applicants should obtain the requested documents or photographs and send

them to the U.S. Embassy through our approved courier service. A list

of the approved courier services was provided at the time of the

    interview.

    3. I appeared at the U.S. Embassy for my interview. It was

suggested that I take a DNA test. What do I do now?

In order to take a DNA test, the first step is for

petitioner to submit his/her DNA samples at one of the labs listed found

    at:

    www.aabb.org/About_the_AABB/Stds_and_Accred/aboutptlabs.htm

The lab will then send a DNA kit to the Embassy. Upon

receiving the DNA kit from the lab, we will contact you to schedule your

appointment for the DNA test. The test will be conducted at the U.S.

Embassy. This process takes several months to complete.

    4. I appeared at the U.S. Embassy for my interview. I was

told that my case has been suspended and the Embassy has sent a request

for revocation. What does that mean?

Your petition has been returned to the National Visa

Center with a recommendation for revocation. This means that the

consular officer who interviewed your case had concerns about the

relationship that was the basis for the petition. The final

determination on your case will be made by U.S. Citizenship Immigration

Services (USCIS) in the United States. Questions about a case that has

been returned with a request for revocation should be referred to the

U.S. Citizenship Immigration Services (USCIS) office where the petition

was filed originally. No appeal or reinstatement request will be

    processed at the U.S. Embassy.

So basically this means nothing other than it may take up to 10months for Admin Processing and after that ISB is willing to entertain our questions. uggh !!!!!

  18. Salam all,

My wife had her interview on July 3rd, 2007 for her immigrant visa (CR-1). She is currently in Lahore, Pakistan, and myself in California. I have contacted the Dept of State numerous times only to get the same response, "Your wife's case is still under administrative processing." It has now been 6 months and we are still waiting patiently.

The reason for my post is to find out if anyone else had a similar interview around the same time in Islamabad. If so, please let me know how your case is progressing. I have been searching but unfortunatly haven't been able to find any VJ members posting their results if their interview was in the month of July. I have seen cases in May and now in August having their Administrative processes completed. I pray for you all to be reunited with your spouses. Thank you

My husband's interview was on aug 28th, 2007 I recently called DOS on jan 5 2007 and finally they told me that my husband's security check was completed. Before i was calling I was getting the same response "Your husband's case is still under admin processing" For me too it was very frustrating because I was also traveling in between CA and UAE when ever I could. I am still waiting for the final answer from the ISB \. My husband's interview was for K-3.

  19. hey guys,

Yesterday I called the DOS office and they told me that my husband's security check has been completed. So now im hoping inshallah I will be hearing from the ISB soon.

    Farah

Last week I got the same response from DOS also. When was your husband's interview and how long did it take for this process to be completed in your case?

    AFZubairi

My husband's interview date was august 28th 2007, 4 1/2 months I would say for security check to complete
