Wow folks! Whats going on here?? Where did everybody go to, no more posts no more vents about VSC, no more jokes? I miss you guys, what happened to this graet family on here?
Sylvie
Yeah I guess we will need a new thread on what a pain the AOS process is, hehe. Good luck to everyone on that! And good luck to those still waiting for the k1
Ana is due here Saturday, wohoo

Just my experience but our interview date also didn't appear online, so I called the 632 301 2000 x5184 number and they had no record of the interview being scheduled even though I had a confirmation number! I had to plead to get the ok as she was about to leave for manila. It was the first day of the call in system when I scheduled though ... Also I needed to change the address too and called in the new info and also had to send a signed fax to 632-301-2591. Good luck

Hi All.......well we did it .....Married May 2, 2008 at 200 in the afternoon.......We are filing the next part on Monday........Will have pictures soon....Very small very low key affair.......but it was perfect ........
Way to go Lora and Oscar!!! Congratulations
-
Thanks everyone!
Welcome back Mirla
This thread has been kinda quiet, I guess vsc got its act together a little, for a while anyway.
Hey Lora, we wanna see pics of the wedding
-
Wow... only 54 approvals in the last 30 days... down from 130 approvals only a few weeks ago.
Hey, still beats september (or august?) when they did SIX!
PS Visa approved at the interview! Wohoo, they only asked one question. Maybe they could have asked that much 11 months ago?

Well I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, anymore. Assuming everything goes smoothly she'll arrive in May sometime. But she has an extra requirement there of a fiancee' seminar by the government there, she's waiting on a replacement passport as hers was too close to expiration - long story short there are still complications from here to there
When's the wedding?
Congratulations Charlene!! Bet it makes you want to kiss the ground when you get off the plane
Another weirdgovernment srew up story, but at least it has a happy ending:
My fiancee' has an interview april 22. I made it under the embassy's new call in scheduling system. They asked if I wanted to confirm, I said yes and they gave me a confirmation number and later sent my fiancee' an email with the date and confirmation number.
Then I got a letter from the embassy a couple weeks later stating she is eligible for an interview appointment. I shrugged it off as an oversight. Today the day she is ready to leave I get another letter stating call to schedule an interview. Uh-oh. So I go on their website to check on her interview date and it shows no record. Uh-oh. This is like 4 hours before her trip, tickets bought, reservations made, bags packed. So I call the embassy when they open, 2 hours to go ... they tell me they have no record of her appointment either and that I should call back to the scheduling number! UH-OH. But, I say, I have a confirmation number, which the USE emailed to her. I have no way to check on that sir, she says.
She can tell I am ready to lose my mind, so she puts me on hold to 'check'. She then tells me some people were told to call back to confirm, maybe that's you? Nope, confirmation number here, remember? Gave her date, exact time. Oh, hmm, well, ok, I'll make a note in the system, tell her it's ok to go to the interview. WHEW!! Close one!
Everybody wonders what the deal is with some petitions getting an easy ride and others tough sledding. My new theory is they pick some to screw up and then they just keep screwing them up at every possible step of the way. It seems to happen to many who have had long waits, etc. Makes as much sense as any other reason
Early June filer's curse.........but it is over soon Virgil.......When will her POE be??????........
-
Well to all, especially those whose appointment won't show up online, CALL TO DOUBLE CHECK. We also had an email confrimation and confirmation number but when I called there was no record of her appointment. So if I hadn't called they would have turned her away!!
Better call to be sure
-
Heads up to all who have an appointment through the new MNL call center scheduling system. I called 3/19 received confirmed appt for 4/22. Fiancee' received email with confirmation number.
Couple weeks later got a letter stating we're eligible for interview, thought it was an oversight. Today, the day she is heading to Manila to get her medical done a week early, I got another letter saying we're still eligible to call for interview. UH-OH. Checked the website, enetered her case number and there is no record of her appointment!!
So I called figuring I can straighten this out we have a confirmation number, right? Not so fast, I guess they throw those numbers out after giving them because they had no way to check on her confirmation number??!! And this is two hours before she is ready to travel there. After some hemming and hawing and checking, she says hmmm, well ok, I'll just make a note here that she can go to the interview. Huh?
So if I hadn't called she'd gone all the way there at great energy and expense and they would have turned her away at the gate!!
SO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INTERVIEW DATES!!!

Hi everyone.
We will reach 180 days (6months) since our NOA1 date(CSC) on Monday.
We have received neither RFEs nor NOA2.
When we called CSC on 3/24, we were told that our application was not even with an adjucator yet...
So, the nice officer personally brought our application to the next step and told us that our petition should go through in the next two weeks... So we waited.... But, nothing happened...
So, we called CSC again on 4/3. We were told that it has been with an adjucator. But, it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month for our petition to be approved by an adjucator.....
So, we waited another week.... But, nothing happened....So, we called again on 4/8. We were told
that there is nothing they can do to help us right now, but our petition should go through soon.
Well, till now, there was a touch on 4/8 and 4/9. We think the touch on 4/8 was due to a phone call.
So, my question is.....
Should we wait few more weeks? or Should we ask help from a local congress man?
We have been told "in two weeks, soon and so on....." We do not know what to believe now....
Thanks for your time
As someone who waited 8.5 months for my noa2, I can tell you your congressman won't be much help. But your 2 touches could mean it was being adjudicated and the approval could be on its way already. I never got a 'touch' from a call, unless they actually did something to the file.
If it goes on your best bet IMO is the USCIS ombudsman. There is a form you can download, dhs 7001, or something that you can request he look into your situation. I believe it's more effective then a congressman who only gets a form letter back saying the same thing they tell you on the phone. I can email you the form if you can't locate it online.

I have my MNL# and will call tonight to make the appointment for a interview. My fiancee is asking when is the Medical scheduled?
i was told you don't need an appointment. just bring her passport, the fee 182.65, and 6 passport pictures. has to be at least a week before interview
-
I can't believe it!! It worked like it was supposed to. We even got an april interview appointment
how many minutes were u on the phone?
I can't believe it!! It worked like it was supposed to. We even got an april interview appointmentwhat did they tell you?are you going to print the packet...they dont send the packet anymore???????
It took about 20 mintues, but not because i had to hold. she asked me to spell out both our names and addresses case number etc. and repeated everything back to be sure it was correct. i called the 1 888 877 9888 number, cost $18 but i used it three times for that one charge.
she told me they don't send the packet anymore which is hard to believe. how are people supposed to know they have to call and/or download the forms?? It's weird. You can download the forms from the www.manila.usembassy.gov site. One form the ds156 has to be filled out online then printed anyway, and it will give you a barcode on it. after giving the interview appt she said just go to st lukes without an appt and bring passport and 6 passport pictures, but has to be at least a week befiore interview.
hope this helps

WOHOO, something in this crazy process worked. I called the embassy to schedule an interview and have one for april, yeah
Thank God for VJ or we'd be waiting for packet IV til doomsday not knowing they have changed (without notice) to a call in scheduling system that requires we download the forms for the packet
One step closer to USCIS/NVC/DOS freedom
Right on, Virgil! Congratulations!
Thanks everyone. It's a great feeling to have this process move nicely. I'm glad us old timers from last year are on course finally.
So Jason, she'll be here any in just a few days huh??? Awesome

Its about 30 mins until they open the phone lines when I make this post.
Will they have the system up already?

I'm going to try. Hope i don't waste another $9!

CONGRATULATIONS LORA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE HOPE TO BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU WITH AN INTERVIEW SOON!!!!!!
thanks so much Charlene.....I can not be happier that we are finally so close......I was begining to believe this interview would never happen......So heres to April being the end for the May/June 2007 filers.........YEAH....FINALLY
Ric and Virgil....where are you??????
Hey, Congrats to you Lora
and also Charlene
. I had a feeling you'd get a quick interview there Lora, just a few more weeks now!
I thought I was out of the woods when our case made it to the embassy, but they have a FUBAR new interview scheduling system with no packet 3 or 4, have to call to schedule but they don't tell you that you need to call, it's $9 a call and it's never the right time to call ARRGGHH
-
I was told we will also need to have our fiancee's passport number when we call to schedule. Better safe than sorry.
I think this is all my fault, as they seem to want to make my life difficult so now that I am waiting for an interview ...

Hello guys, I got approved today, thank you all of you for your help. My gf moved during this whole process so I was wondering who do I contact to update her address information?
I had the same issue. Called vsc, was told it was changed. It wasn't. Called NVC after approval to try again, was told it was fixed, it wasn't. Called embassy at the pay number (or you can try 011-632-301-2000 ext 5184 if you can get through) and they took the info and had me send a signed fax with case number, names, type of visa, old address, new address. We'll see if it takes.
So my advice is to follow up even after they tell you it's fixed to make sure it has been changed.

Hey guys... today is Faith and Amr's interview in Egypt!
Best of luck to them!
Wohoo
Go Faith
Hey Virgil have they sent your petition from NVC??????........this is one dead thread these days........Has anyone heard from Faith???
Hey, yep they sent it to the embassy after about 3 days, even before i called nvc. No packet 3 yet so i'm wondering if there is a way to check if they have sent it yet.
Anyway congrats to you and Charlene on getting those issues straight

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!! I'M FINALLY FREAKIN APPROVED!!!!!!!Hey Erica Congrats to you too and the same day!!! Aren't you dying to know where they found our petitions? Maybe in the corner of a car trunk of one of those work from home adjudicators??!!
Ahhhh, free from vsc, what a feeling
Virgillionaire,
It is about FREAKING time! Congratulations and best wishes with the rest of the process.
Thanks Bill! I was beginning to wonder if it would ever happen
Congrats on your visa

Hi everyone....I spent most of my day sitting in my Congressman's office telling him my trail of tears since last May 26th.....I showed him my log of phone calls, emails and certified letters.....the timeline of mistakes with the rfe......mailing of 1/2 a petition and the horrific wait we have endured.....Explained to him the pain we have experienced and how much stress this has caused us.......the unfairness of this process and the uncaring ineptness of the USCIS and NVC.....He listened and promised to make some calls for us...apoligized to me....I felt better when I left.....About 1 hour ago I recieved this email...
Thank you so much for coming to my office today to talk to me about your problems getting your voice heard and petition processed in a timely fair manner. I apoligize again for this terrible experience and hope to increase your confidence by telling you that your petition is now on it's way to Lima, Peru with my sincere hope in a quick visa issuance.
I checked dhl and a package left NVC this afternoon for Lima.........I am numb
Thanks so much everyone for all of your prayers and support.....and God Bless you Congressman Wolf............Lora and oscar
Wow, Awesome!!! Hope you Oscar will get the fast track interview like Mirla! Better start researching ticket prices
confused about I693a
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas
Posted · Edited by virgillionaire
So, a)the I693a is not on the uscis website's form list, just I693. Where can I get it?
b ) How are we or the doctor supposed to fill this out? The little info we have on vaccinations is in the medical report which uscis has, not us. She has no records or even dates of her vaccines, although she had them.
c) Does it really HAVE to be filed with the AOS package or can it wait until she has the medical later?
Thanks for your help
