  1. I received a ds-3032 form but I think it needs to be filled out by my wife. My question is does it need to be filled out and if so does she need to use me as an agent since I reside in the US? Also do I need to send this to her to fill out and sign and send back to me? If so why did the NVC send it to me in the first place? I think this is holding up our case among other things. Thanks for any help. Everyone on here has been very very helpful and we really appreciate it.

  2. I have a problem with the I-864 form. Part 3, Question 8 seems to be a double question. I am filing for my wife but I will be using a co-sponsor. Question 8 says "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant named in Part 2 above." so I check that box. But I dont understand what the Yes and No boxes are for below that. Do I leave these blank since I am only bringing my wife over and just using a co-sponsor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Ok I have read all the info. and believe I have everything together. Here is my story. Me and my wife got married in the Philippines in July. I came back here shortly after that. I had all the paper work together to file but have recently lost my job of 12 years. (the company was lossing money and had to make cuts, I was one of the lucky ones) I have a side business that I can fall back on so I am not worried. Now I will just go back and be with my wife for a while. We had a problem with our marriage cert. and are in the proccess of fixing that. which is why I have not filed yet.

My question is, Should I file here in the States or do a DCF in the philippines? I am not to worried about time since I can stay there for up to a year financially. I still have my place here, bank accounts, and business so I think I should have no problem showing domicile.

Actually a better question should be, am I overlooking anything?

    Thanks

  4. This is just a thought, but we had a discrepancy in our marraige papers also and what we did was the women in the courthouse was a friend of ours and had arrainged our wedding. Before the marraige papers went to malacanang for the ribbon, we had her correct them.

The same here, my wife befriended the woman at the register and we had already changed where they had my name wrong before it was sent to the NSO office. But this time it has done been sent to NSO and off to Manila before we realized the error. The woman at the register told us that if NSO has not sent it to Manila she would get it and change it but it had already been sent. It kind of burns me cause they are the ones that made the mistake. But I made the mistake of not catching it.

    It was in Dipolog City.

    Thanks

Oh I noticed all the corruption going on in their government. Maybe it is one month if you pay enough....

    Just a thought

  5. The change of entry in the Marriage certificate has to be ordered by the court and will probably take 3 to 6 months the most. .not just one month.

Hope this helps and goodluck :)

I was going off what the attorney in the Phil. told me before I left. He said it would only take a month and that I did not need to be there since it was just a change to her portion of the certificate.

    Thanks for the help

  6. Reposted as topic.

My situation is kind different. I went to the Philippines married my beautiful wife and everything went great until the day before I left. We realized that the place of birth for my wife on the marriage certificate was wrong. The register had put my wifes current residence instead of her place of birth. Upon some more research I learned that the only way to change it is to hire an attorney in the Phil. and get a court order which takes at least a month. So I am wondering how critical will that be? Should I just send it in for the K-3 visa and not worry about it right now? We will still have to change it since I believe when she goes to get her passport it will be a problem. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
