  1. thanks for the reply. the thing is i am the one that will borrow money here in the Phil and not him who is in the US. And yes He can afford to provide Affidavit of Support, what we are afraid of is that they won't give me a visa even though we have been together for 2 years and we can provide them all the proofs because of that loan. But if that will affect the visa then we wont loan then.

Oh so you're in the Phils and you are the one who is making the loan. Trust me it wont affect your visa at all. Before I left the Phils, I still owed some credit card companies like Citibank and HSBC (and until now I have not fully paid everything although Im paying every month). I got my K1 visa easily and I dont think you'll have any problem with yours.

The bottom line is, its not you who will be checked for financial concerns - but your husband. Because he will be the one responsible to support you when you get to the US.

Again, good luck. Im going to bed. Hehe.

  2. hi everyone my husband and i will be filing for k3 visa on sept. the thing is my sister needs an immediate operation too

and because of that the only way on how can we have the money for the operation is to loan money in the bank. My question is will that loaned money will affect the visa that we will file? will they grant my visa even if i have a loaned money in the bank? :help:

It could affect. Or not at all.

The bottom line is, when the petitioner provides the Affidavit of Support, it should show that he COULD support the beneficiary. Even if he's got loans and mortgages to pay but he's earning enough to pay these AND at the same time support the beneficiary, there should not be a problem.

    Good luck.

  3. I know what you mean...but at least you have an upcoming interview.

Worse comes to worse you'll have your GC and the EAD won't matter.

    Good luck!

Thanks Bora. Yup, I know... Its just that an employer wants me to start on the first week of August and I almost 100 percent sure my EAD wont be approved by that time.

Good luck to you too!! I hope your Infopass appointment fixes your EAD problem.

  4. :clock: since May 31st...

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!! And as I said previously, I wouldnt bother too much with USCIS website because they dont seem to be too accurate with it, feather B got her update immediately today, and mine should have been since June28 and nothing yet, no update, no e-mail, my case still says that it has been received and thats it.

So I wish you receive a surprise in the mail!

Oh so this is possible. I hope I get a surprise too.

  5. Hi there,

My husband is unfortunately no help since the only way he knows are college career centers, to which I don't have access since I went to college in Europe... I tried monster, careerbuilder and some other websites, but my area is never there or only for people with 6-10 years of experience....

I'm a communications professional with 3 years experience and a MA degree living in the Bay Area... Does anybody live here too with the same profession? I'm looking since Monday and I just can't find anything!!!! I worked in event planning, PR and internal communication.... And now - nothing!!!!

I looked for temp agencies but they only do financial, legal or graphic design.

    Sigh, open for suggestions!

I just saw a job opportunity for you. Its in San Mateo.

so then what does she need if we wanna go visit south korea this x-mas??? (just passport, green card, and ticket??) also for her to start working somewhere what kind of evidence does she need to bring to her future employer??

what does she need if we wanna go visit south korea this x-mas??? (just passport, green card, and ticket??) - YES.

also for her to start working somewhere what kind of evidence does she need to bring to her future employer?? - Just the green card - to show that she's a legal permanent resident and that she could work for any employer in the US.

  7. Must have gotten lost in the mail. Did your biometrics letter not have 2 different MSC numbers on it, one for EAD and one for AOS? I forget how that works (and don't have my copy of that letter handy).

If there are 2 MSC receipt numbers on it, the other one (the first) should be his AOS receipt number. My biometrics letter had 2 MSC numbers by the way, one for AOS and the other one for EAD.

  8. Hi all. Can anyone tell me the best way to send the documentation she will need for the interview in Kiev, Ukraine? FedEx, DHL, ect? I can't email them because my scanner makes jpeg files. Is there some other software I can use? OCR maybe? If not what is the best service to use.

    Thanks in advance!

    Donny

What is wrong with jpeg files? They're clear enough when printed. But you may also need to send original copies of some documents, so why not just send it in one mail? Use Fedex if its urgent.

not so easy because were already engaged she swore her love to me and i take it seriously. i cant break it off over sitting on his lap. if she has lied, how can i find out?

  11. Hi there. We basically have the same timeline, and just like you, I am also waiting for my EAD to get approved.

A couple of weeks ago, I thought of looking for an IT job since I was told job interviews/appointments together with background investigation could take up to a month. Last week I got interviewed and the company pretty much liked my experience and exposure. When I told them my EAD or (hopefully) GC would arrive in 1-2 months, they said the position could wait for another month or two. So it was ok... They are willing to wait and they will officially offer me the job when my EAD arrives. Now the waiting time is killing me because I want to start as much as possible!

I just saw CELARLILY's timeline and its killing me more.

  12. congrats JC!!! maybe before weekend or next week you'll receive ur card already!!

I hope so Meph. By the way, do you have your middle name on your GC? I won't know if they'll include it on mine because when they sent a biometric appointment to me, my middle name was not included.

Hi there. First, congratulations! I was just wondering, did you guys go the AOS interview? I was looking at your timeline and I noticed you guys didnt have to go thru the interview process. Is it possible to get approved without the interview? Uhm I am hoping it is and hopefully it would happen to me as well. Thanks.

  13. Hello folks.

First, do the immunizations given at St Lukes cost money? and how much?

What vaccines are given at St Lukes?

My wife is in Butuan City and this is the price list she sent me.

Are these costs reasonable? (total US$ is about $565)

If St Lukes gives the same and it does not cost, I would certainly like to save the money.

    Thanks much

    Mark

    Mumps- ]

    Measles-] 2,150 pesos that 3

    Rubella- ]

    Polio-2,000

    Tetanus and diphtheria toxiods-2,000

    Pertussis-2,250

    Influenza type B-2,250

    Hepatitis Type B-2,250

    Varicella-2,050

    Pneumoccocal-4,300

these 3 are not on "the list", but doctor recommended to my wife

    Typhoid fever-1,950

    Hepatitis A-2,250

    Meningococcal-2,500

I see vaccines that are not appropriate for your wife's age. I went thru the K-1 process and these are the vaccinations I had in St. Lukes last January 2007:

    Mumps,

    Measles,

    Rubella and

    Vacirella (only 1st dose)

The total cost was $100.00. In regards to the other vaccines,

    Polio,

    Hib,

    Hepatitis B,

    Pneumococcal and

Influenza are not "age-appropriate" according to my Vaccination Documentation Sheet.

Another vaccine, called Tetanus Diphteria, is not available in St. Lukes. I had this (1st dose) 3 weeks after I got into the US. The cost, together with the 2nd dose of Vacirella was $98. Oh yeah, there are 2nd and 3rd doses for Tetanus Diphteria, which will cost around $70.

    Hope this helps.
