Hey I have a question, the whole time you guys were waiting for the review of your missing 221g did the ceac status say refused? I'm currently stuck in Cuidad juarez because on the 12th of March i got a 221g slip asking for missing documents. I just wanted to know if the updated you the whole way through it. I sent my documents since the 13th of march and still have no response.

The status showed Administrative Processing until the day it changed to Issued. Have you called the information number to check the status? The CEAC site would just have date changes, but when I called the number, they could tell me if a new request for documents was sent, and when they were received, etc. I'm so sorry you're stuck in Juarez. My husband came back March 2nd and when the border was closed, I panicked just imagining him being stuck there.

Hello! I don’t know how long it takes but a lot of people say it’s within 10 business days.
I have a question for you... when your husband went to the appt, did they give him a 221g blue sheet with what they were requesting?
It only took 7 days for them to approve it? My husband had his appt 1 week ago and we’re still  pending the document I submitted to be approved/issued.

Yes, they gave him a blue 221g sheet at the interview requesting records for an arrest, which were already in the packet. But the lawyer had kept the affidavit of arrest out because he thought it would be detrimental. So we returned the documents in two days, the consulate made a note they were received the following week. 2 weeks later, they sent another 221 g for the same arrest (that letter took 7 days for my husband to be able to pick up!), we returned those documents and it took about a week and a half and then it switched to issued this past Friday. We received the waybill number this afternoon and he picked up his visa. He's crossing now.

  3. Hi,

My husband's interview was Jan. 21, 2020, and then he was administrative processing 221g while they requested documents twice. His status on CEAC finally changed to ISSUED on Feb 28, 2020. He's been gone for 7 weeks and so now we are waiting on the waybill number to be able to pick up his passport with the visa. Has anyone been approved in Juarez in the last week or so? If you were, how long did it take to get your passport/visa picked up in Juarez?

Thank you. Everything was sent to NVC and revived the DQ letter on 12/19/19. At least now I now there’s another year wait for the interview. Hope your case moves along quickly after the 221g. This whole process has been so frustrating and stressful. If my interview is in early 2021, it would have taken 4 years from the time we submitted our I130 😩

It's very stressful. We began our case in March of 2015. So it took almost 5 years to get to the interview. I know my husband had the arrest which probably complicated his case, and his amount of time here made the I601A waiver necessary which added that year and a half. But, I feel like all of the applicants are turned into "numbers or pieces of paper" rather than a person with a family and friends and work/businesses.

    Hello,

I'm new to this forum and desperate to get some information about wait times. My Waiver was approved on May 2019, supporting documents were sent and received by USCIS, however, I have not heard anything about the interview? How long will it take? On the I601A forum, some people have mentioned receiving an interview letter only a couple months after the waiver approval. Please help. Thank you.

After we received the I601A approval, the lawyer sent the case to the NVC, and then we waited a year for the interview. I misunderstood that part though, so it took a few months to send it to the NVC. I was waiting for the interview and the lawyer was waiting on me to make the next payment, so be sure your packet was sent to the NVC.

    How did your interview go?

They gave a 221g form requesting more documents. My husband had an arrest from 2002 and the police left a lot blank, so the consulate requested court documents and the police record. It was all the same, the sheriff's office didn't have anymore records, and our lawyer stated that. But two weeks later, they've sent another request for the police documents. And we've been waiting since Feb. 6th to receive the tracking number needed to pick up the package. It's so very frustrating. He's been there for 4 weeks today.

  7. My husband just interviewed on the 21st of January, and I had his packet totally organized with all originals with the copies after it, tax transcripts, everything the lawyer could think of, and everything I could add after reviewing lots of these forums. The officer focused on an arrest from 2002 (which we brought all the paperwork on, the court record and the police record) and questioned my husband about his son who we filed for a visa for in 2016. There were other people that interviewed the week after that didn't even have an original birth certificate and were approved that day and received their visa by that Friday. My husband has been there 21 days so far just waiting on someone there to actually pick up his case and review the additional documents he sent in. It seems very hit and miss and depends on who interviews you.
