  2. Hello VJ,

Getting ready to send off my hubby's application and I wanted to make sure of one thing that is holding us up. We have filed our tax returns jointly every year and I have a copy to send in of the federal for the past three years but I don't have copies of my state taxes do you guys really think that the state taxes are necessary and they are just interested in the federal [;ease let me know what you guys have sent or what you haven't.

    Thanks so much!!

  3. Was tedious to say the least when my wife applied 33 months ago, downloading, printing and reading that 68 page M-476 manual. At lot easier today by going to the N-400 site and downloading the Eligibility and evidence check list when my stepdaughter applied. See in the last month even have a couple of more attachments.

Recall with the M-476 manual highlighting what applied to us, used Adobe Acrobat Pro to copy and paste and print out what applied to us and ended up with about six pages for our check list.

This time, printed out that Eligibility and evidence check list double sided, checked everything off with a pen and even enclosed that with my stepdaughters application so they know we complied with all of their requirements. Was accepted and one month later, finally received notice for the biometrics appointment. But what's the rush, stepdaughter is still good for the next 8 years with her green card. But would be better for her to have a US passport and she can visit her grandma because her place of birth is in Venezuela and not Colombia. Then a US passport is good for ten years, and not five, can get her passport here without making a trip to Chicago to visit her consulate in person.

USCIS was a bit slow with my wife for the biometrics appointment, but got her interview notice a week later after her fingerprints. Processing site said nine months, we weren't in a hurry for her citizenship either, but if you are not in a hurry, then it goes very quick. She only had use of her new 10 year green card for seven weeks.

Thanks NickD a lot of very useful information!!!!

  4. Hello VJ,

It's been a long time hello to all the new ones and the old ones hope the visa journey has been good to you all and I wish you all speedy journeys.

I need your guys help on a question my husband and I are coming up on our 4 year wedding anniversary in March and he has his 10 year green card and he will have had his greencard and been married and resided in the US for over 3 years but the date on his greencard is the end of April. My question is can we file for his citizenship 90 days before the date on his greencard like we did when we filed for his permanent residence from conditional residence or do we have to wait for the exact 3 year date on his greencard.

@lease help me out going through another visajourney for naturalization and VJ guys have never let me down!!

    Take Care!!

  7. Hello My Sub-Saharan Family,

I am still around most of the time lurking. Still wishing everyone the best of luck going through this process.

Ola and I are doing very well.

I wanted to ask you guys for a big favor. My husband took a shot and tried out for a modeling shoot to be an AJ Wright model (it's a store here in Atlanta) we never thought anything would come of it even though I think he is the sexiest one out of the whole bunch but anyhoo he was one of the ones picked out of 300 people and we are very excited. But I need you guys to vote for him to win!!!!!!

Please go to www.aj-wright.com/atlanta and click on the Stone Mountain location. Click on Ola and submit your vote. The voting is from the 15th-22nd and if you could not just vote once but everyday and tell all your friends to vote!!

Thanks everyone I know I can count on you!!

    God Bless,

    Amy

  8. Hello Subbies!!!

I do lurk around every now and then to see what you guys are up to. I am in for the support group. The adjustment I think is the hardest part of the visa journey.

P: Put things very well that people don't talk about this topic because you may be judged but it is a topic that should be

    discussed.

Everything is not roses like you dream of when your spouse arrives they are human and not perfect and you go through an adjustment as well. My husband has been here just over a year and we have both come a long way.

Taurean: I loved what you wrote!!

Boaz: I will definitely be checking that book out!!

Zainab: Sorry things are rough they will get better and have patience something I am still to this day working on!!

    GOD BLESS (F)

  9. Hi Moon,

Good to hear from you and that things are going well (except for the job thing) Sorry and just to let you know something will come along.

We went through the same thing I think first of all it is hard enough for a US Citizen to get a job these days not to mention someone new to this country. My husband wanted to work for all these companies that required a background check and when they found out he was from Nigeria we never heard from them again. We tried the temp agencies and they never called. Like ose_n_me said they want someone with job experience in the US and now he has some so just hang in there something will come along as something finally came a long for my husband and of course he wants to do something bigger and better but he will in due time. Just be patient times are hard.

    Good Luck!
