  1. Okay yes I totally understand that he will need the negative COVID test to enter. I just went through that to come to Mexico this week!

Now, my other question is: Do we schedule the biometrics in Juarez as well?? He was registering the interview and is confused about if the biometrics can be in Juarez or in Mexico City where he lives. Please let me know!

  2. Hi! My husband recently got his interview in Juarez on March 8, 2021. Has anyone been there recently? Do you have any advice for us or can explain how it is working there. I was researching to fly to El Paso and drive to Juarez from there, but I wasn’t sure how the border is working since I normally fly to Mexico City to visit him. Am I able to cross the border at this time?

  3. Hi!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. I was very naive going into this situation as well.

I met my husband 6 years before we started dating. He lives in Mexico City. When we started, I didn’t understand the process at all either. I asked him to get a tourist visa to visit me, because I felt the same, ‘we needed the quality time together before rushing an engagement or marriage.’ I wanted the traditional approach to a relationship as well. My friend that introduced us kept telling me to marry him. It’s the only way! It took me awhile to understand that.

I talked to lawyers, friends from other countries, etc. They all said get the CR1 visa. I also tried to look into a work visa since my dad and step dad own their own business. I will tell you it’s more complicated than it seems.

My only advice to you is to keep visiting as much as possible. You need to know that it’s real because it’s a long and hard process. I traveled to Mexico 5 times before we decided to get married. My family is old fashioned as well. They didn’t get to meet my husband before we got married but they all came to the wedding and supported us completely.

I can only tell you that the quality time will still happen while going through the process. I started the same way, thinking we needed to be together 6 months to a year before marrying, however, we worked it out and we are still getting the quality time and experience with each other even when we spend months apart.

Someone told you that the CR1 visa is the best option and I will agree with them.

  4. Hi! Has anyone or is anyone making travel plans to go see their spouse during the quarantine? My husband and I were thinking of trying to make arrangements for the end of May/first of June. He is in Mexico City. I am curious if anyone has been still visiting their spouse during this time. I understand the international flight ban but I didn’t know if anyone has an experience and know if it’s okay to do so.

    thank you

  5. Yes please send me the list of vaccinations required. My husband was told that if he got the vaccines done prior to the medical exam that, yes, it would be less. It would help a lot if we had a list of the vaccines!! I hope everything goes well for you and your husband tomorrow! I wish you the best of luck! Thank you for responding to me!!! Also, I have a question, do they send another form asking him to fill another application out? He filled the i260 immigration application with the nvc, but I was hearing that they ask for the i160 which I looked at it’s basically the same thing!

Please let me know how everything goes tomorrow when you get the chance! I’d love to know how the interview went for you and any other heads up we will need!

    thank you so much!!!
