It depends on the consulate.   I think when they don't have things to put in the annotations they put this is.    I've seen on spousal visas too.

Yes, that's right Paul. My fiancées Visa shows the Petition expiration date in the "Annotation" section at the bottom of her visa. I wonder why the consulate notes this information on the visa? As it has caused us a lot of confusion and doubt on the subject of when she can or should depart Vietnam and we hope it will not cause any confusion when she enters the country.

  2. Please Help!

    Hello,

My fiancée who is a Vietnamese citizen has just had her K1 VISA approved in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. After nearly 1 year we are both excited to get her approval and begin our new life together in Los Angles, California. Upon receiving her visa in the mail we both noted that her Visa to travel to the USA will expire on May 5, 2020. But at the bottom of her Visa it also shows that our 1-129 Petition expires on February 21, 2020.

Are these expiration dates independent of each other? Meaning, can she enter the USA at anytime before May 5, 2020 regardless of our petition expiration date on February 21st or does she need to enter the USA before our petition expires on February 21, 2020? PLEASE HELP!! this is very confusing as both expiration dates are clearly noted on her entry visa and I keep getting conflicting answers to these questions. Our hope is that she can fly anytime before May 5th to give us more time to plan her departure and avoid paying outrageous ticket prices for flights in February. Any reliable information or help on getting answers on this topic it greatly appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Joe E.
