  1. Hi all, this has been a very helpful forum for me. So I want to share my experience too.

i applied for I-751 in November 2018 and N400 in January 2020. My I-751 was transferred to new office (NBC) 2 days after N400 application. I felt like I made the biggest mistake of my life by filing N400... I wrote to NBC, Ombudsman and called USCIS helpline a number of times but none of this yielded results..

I went for my N400 interview today and my N400 and i751 was approved on the spot and I did a same day oath ceremony..

to everyone in a similar situation, hang in there and don’t be discouraged. You’re almost there!

We had made an infopass appointment and the office called to cancel it. The officer my husband spoke to said only he and a lawyer (if necessary) can come into the interview. On the appointment notice I believe it says somewhat of the same thing only lawyers would be allowed. So only he will be at the interview.

I plan to go with my husband and wait outside, just in case.

Yes, that’s what my interview notice said as well, only an attorney can come with you.. I wonder why they can’t just go ahead and approve the i751...

my souse will be outside as well and available on the phone if necessary

Our interview has finally been scheduled for 9/24/20 in Mount Laurel, NJ, combo with N400. At that time the I751 will have been pending for over 21 months.

We were informed only my husband will be allowed into the interview for I751/N400 due to Covid guidelines, they’re not even going to interview us together so idk why this couldn’t have been approved months or years ago.

I also have my combo interview scheduled for that date. Did the notice specifically say “don’t come with your souse” or it didn’t specify..

mine did not specify to come with anyone.. I’m just checking to see if it’s the generic letter they sent..

So they combined your applications? When we called last time, they told us that i751 and N400 are separate applications and will be processed separately. 🙄🙄🙄

They seem to provide different information every single time. In my case, they said because I have 2 current applications, I must be interviewed. but I’ve also seen people getting their i751 approved with a pending N400 🙄🙄
It’s so frustrating dealing with uscis

    Hi,

We made a "case is taking longer thabprocessing time" inquiry in May. Case History shows It was assigned to an officer for processing but in "Next Steps" it said that referral number XXX not is currently not assigned for processing.

We called back after 30 business days and they opened a general inquiry for which we should receive a response within 15 business days but now same thing again. In Case History it shows that it was assigned to am officer for response but in Next Steps it says "...is currently not assigned for processing"

Has anyone else experienced this? It is becoming really frustrating at this point.

Also, shall I go ahead and submit an ombudsman inquiry or wait for 15 business days to complete? Because at this point we have made all attempts via website and phone to get an answer. But, I don't want my inquiry to get turned down for not waiting full 15 business days.

So far all we get is just rude customer service and a whole a lot of canned responses without any real information.

    Thanks

I experienced the same” ...is not currently assigned for processing” Response as well, I reopened another after 30 days and they sent an email saying due to combo N400 + i751, I just be interviewed.
