You can call DOS Visa services to find out interview date. 202-663-1225 Ask if P4 has been sent out.

In my case I was in country for the visa interview and was able to get an entire P4 by visiting the consulate, this included a copy of the interview letter.

I called the DOS and they said the embassy doesnt have the info entered is it possible that they are backed up in paperwork and may not have entered the info yet or did they not get it she faxed it a week ago

Brillit called me yesterday after her 2nd interview. The visa was approved. AP was less than 2 months...

Plans are to have her come in Mid March. I will be going down for Carnaval at the end of February.

congrats. I have a question if anyone knows it. My fiance faxed the paperwork to bogota on tuesday and I called DOS today and they say there is no evidence of them having it. Does anyone know if they process those papers right away or do they wait or should I tell her to refax it?

We waitedfor the paperwork for a month and it hasnt come yet

so we faxed it on Tuesday after downloading it from the site.

what does anyone think the odds are of my finace actually receiving the packet 4. She never got the packet3 which was supposedly mailed a month ago. We had to fax the papers, and if she doesnt how can we proceed I was reading that to get the medical and pay at the bank you need the actual appointment letter, but I was also seeing that some people went to Bogota without it. I am confused with this crazy mail system...

Does the mail system suck that bad in Colombia? I called the DOS almost 3 weeks ago and my fiance still has not received the packet 3 which they said was sent out by the embassy. I guess I should just say forget waiting and just have her fax the papers to them. We are getting the last of paperwork but her mom cannot find the baptismal certificate. Does anyone know of the importance of this? I know it says optional but I would rather have more documents than less.

mine got stuck in the NVC vortex. I got the letter stating it will go to the embassy within 10 days on NOV 10. my fiance has not received anything for packet 3 from the embassy yet. So I called DOS on monday and they said NVC has sent out the petition but they have not received it yet. So I called the NVC and they said all was fine and they sent out the petition via DHL on Dec 23. The lady said things get backed up this time of year and the process is slower. She told me that it is not really an unusual curcumstance at all. Anyway now I wait for the DHL to reach the embassy.

Why worry about it, just call the DOS to confirm the embassy has the NVC package and then fax the information required preemptively. Follow the instructions in the Embassy section of this site.

Well I found out after calling the DOS today and they have not received the packet yet in Bogota. Turns out the NVC didnt mail it out until Dec 23 and that the one week they talk about in the letter is just a made up approximate time. Now i have to wait since it was sent out via DHL and with the holidays who knows how long it will take for it to reach Bogota . I thought this was supposed to be the faster part. Oh well more and more waiting...

I received a letter from the NVC saying that they would send the approved pettion to the consulate in Bogota within week, this was NOV 10, and that my fiance would soon get a packet with further instructions from the consular and how to apply the k1 visa at that post and what documents will be required. It is now Dec 21 and she hasnt received it yet. Is this usual? Is there anyway we can check out what is going on? Looking at other timelines it looks like the fiance usually receives the packet within a week or 2 or 3, maybe I just worry over nothing...

I just got home from work and checked my email and checked the status of my NOA2 and it said it was approved and sent, so it should be in the mail later today or tomorrow I hope. It only took 4 short months The best thing is that today is my birthday and my fiances birthday was on the 5th so this is a great birthday present for us both!!! Hopefully the rest of the process will go fast now and we can be together soon. I hope all other June filers have gotten theirs too

Has anyone heard anything who has filed in June? I filed for my fiance on June 12 and received the NOA1 June 24. Now I am waiting for the NOA2. Hope it comes soon, this waiting period sucks the life out of me.
