  1. Hi there,

My fiancee and I have started the visa process at the very beginning of the year, but like many people on this forum, the Coronavirus situation has thrown everything off balance and has made things much harder and uncertain for us.
Faced with issues both familial and financial, we have started to reconsider our options, including getting married in the US through the K1 as intended but then issuing a spouse visa for her back in my own country, and live there together for a few years.
We assumed we would have to file spouse visa if we want to come back to US, which is fine.

Now, as the title states, the K1 is technically non immigrant but is needed to marry with intent to immigrate.
Besides, we may have to prove connection to my country without intent to immigrate which would be hard since.... we filed K1. 😄
Lots of research on our end, but we must admit we are pretty confused at that point, and basically worried about how it could affect our future eligibility for U.S. immigration benefits.

Does anyone know of instances where people do K1 but decide to go to a different country instead of filing AOS, and what the consequences would be (other than needing to go through the visa process again to the US later).

    Thank you !

  2. Overall it sounds about right, we'll double check things to be sure as you said, but when in doubt, it's probably better to write more things than omit then.
As for the move-in dates, I guess we will maybe precise as a side note in the section 8 that we don't have the exact date

Wondering if maybe someone could confirm, just to be sure, but still, thank you for your quick answer and encouragements !

  3. Hi everyone !
Quick summary to get an idea of our journey so far ; we've met on the internet in around June/July 2017 and have been in a relationship for 2 years now chatting/skype/etc... basically every day.
I went to visit 3 times, the latest trip lasted 3 months and allowed me to finally meet her family. Now that I am done with my obligations in France, we've decided to get to work and file an I-129F form for a foreign fiance.

We have extensive proof of our relationship (be it online chat, friends, families, photos, you name it), but we're still extremely stressed about it, as you can imagine, and very worried about getting denied because we did something wrong while filling out the document.
There are some very specific sections that leave us very confused as to how we should answer, and wondered if anyone could help us figure things out.

    1) Address history ; as part of my studies, I went to the UK 3 years ago, for a 4 and a half months long internship, and had to rent an accommodation during this period.
Considering that this place was a rent (through AirBnB to be precise), does that count as a physical address that should be provided in this form ?

    2) Address move-in date ; in the same section, is required the date from/to we've stayed at a specific address.
Considering that neither me nor my family have any clue as to what the specific day we moved in our current house is (no documents stating that, family basically decided to move in on a whim), the question is as follows ; how do I fill in this section when the only information we have is the month and year.

    3) Internship = Work ? ; related to our first question, are internships considered employment, and hence need to be on the form ?

    4) Maiden and Spouse name ; when filling in the information on my parents, I stumbled upon the simplest doubt. When asked for my mother's Family Name (last name), should I provide her maiden name, or her spouse name ?

    5) N/A "complications" ;  Do we leave blank any areas that don't let you fill in N/A due to character restrictions on the form ? Sounds to us like an automatic red flag to leave a section empty, so we're not sure what we should do.

We sincerely appreciate anybody that would take the time to read this and could helps us out.
