I had my wife and 2 month old son with me at my biometric appointment. My ASC was not busy at all, and I was almost 2 hours early for my appointment (baby slept peacefully the whole 2 hour drive...was expecting to have to stop and feed). We were in and out in 10 minutes, and I would not expect the people there would be upset at all, if you had a little one in a car seat next to you while they photograph and finger print you. Hopefully he would be happy, and you can always feed him just before to try and encourage the happiness.

Yeah, I mailed it in July, and I thought it would get that before August came along, because the post office said it would get there in like 3 days...but it took 5 business days, and the weekend of course. So, they received it in August, so I became an August filer. Hopefully, we will see more of the early filers soon.

I got an e-mail today that they ordered production of my card and I should expect to receive it in 30 days. I think that means that I'm approved, although I never got an e-mail saying "Congratulations, you are approved." Horray, if that does indeed mean I'm the first August filer to be approved. So, approval date of September 9, if that is what that e-mail means.

@Supermanback: How long did it take until they cashed you check and you received your NOA?

It said they received it on August 2nd, I received the NOA in my mail August 9th. So a week. And then another week and a bit til I got the biometric appointment.

Just realized that the application # from the first NOA and the Appointment notice are different... not to mention that none of them are recognized when trying to check the online status... ...what is that all about?

I haven't gotten my bio appointment letter yet, but I did call the USCIS about the case # not being recognized on the website, and they said that often after the bio appointment you will be given a different case # than the one on your initial letters, and that case # will be able to be tracked on-line. Relatively standard procedure to not put the case # on-line until after the bio appointment.

If you are leaving right away, you could have a friend mail it for you, or a relative. Of course, if you mail it on August 12th, but just send it via the USPS, it will take 2 or 3 business days at least to get there, which would likely put you in the 90 day window also. As a fellow Illinois resident, an example of my application which I sent certified mail, was mailed on July 26, but was not received in California until August 2.

I just printed off my skype logs for the past 3 months the other day and I found he basic print screen to be pretty good. U just go into the "Calls and SMS" section. U go to the bottom of the month u want to print off and tell it to show all items instead of the default 20, that way it will print off the entire month. U can edit ur print settings to get more entries on a page...but don't go so small they can't read it of course. That way the most times u'd have to hit print screen would be 12 times for a year...not too hard IMO(in my opinion). Much easier than exporting files if u don't know what u are doing.

APPROVED!!! Wooohooo!!! :D Sitting here doign the happy chair dance. Told my fiance and she is of course quite excited too.

Checked this morning, and I'm touched again. I'm hoping approval comes soon. Kits, I know it's tough and it's heartbreaking and the time apart is heart-wrenching and it feels like u can't do anything at all to make the other person feel better. I am guessing we have all been there at at least 1 point during this process and may be there again before it's over. Take faith in that u are taking the steps to say to your partner I am willing to go through this horribly, long, extended, stressful process for u and only u. I love u more than words can say, and I'm willing to go to whatever lengths to spend the rest of my life with you, because u are my soulmate, without whom my life would be incomplete, and I won't be whole until we are married and living together forever. It does look like there is a lot of action at the CSC these last couple of weeks, so take heart and keep courage. It's a long process, and ur screen name is appropriate, cause we all gotta have faith in God and his plans for us. He will lead us through the tunnel and through to the other side.
