We had a combined interview, marriage based N400 application. I am the immigrant. I provided a document explaining why I didn't file taxes with my N400 application.
My husband and I filed taxes in 2018 (and provided documents) but not before that because I was unemployed and he didn't make enough to be able to file.
IO asked if we had documents from the IRS for the years we didn't file which we didn't because we didn't file taxes. He then said that you need to file taxes for 3 years before applying for citizenship and told us a decision can't be made yet because he needs to look into it.
Can anyone give me some information on the situation?
