  1. Just to let you all know I've recieved my passport with visa this morning. It took 11 working days.

I spoke to the courier people & they said the norm for this time of year is between 10 to 15 working days.

Good luck to you all...I fly out late afternoon as luckily had a flexible ticket (£469) with BA so have been rolling it over each day.

    Cheers,

    Sasha

  2. From what you say I'd imagine it's to process your visa. I guess if you allow a couple of days for it to get there & for them to open it etc... then you're probably on about the same sort of timescale as me...whatever that is?! I'll put a posting up as soon as I get my visa or any further news about it - hopefully within the next few days! Could you do the same as well?

    Cheers & good luck!

    Sasha

  3. Thanks, everything at the interview went very smoothly so guess I was just a bit suprised to have the extra wait. Wondering if a few staff are away on annual leave as around 4th July but wish they'd give best & worst case scenario which is what I thought the 3 to 5 days was.

I think it's a case of so near yet so far till I have that visa in my hand! Anyway thanks for the support!

  4. Just wondered if anyone had an idea of current processing times for returning passports? I had my visa approved at interview on the 5th July and was told 3 to 5 working days however 6 days have now passed & I just spoke to SMS who said they haven't recieved it yet. We had all the correct paperwork & no questions so thought it would be fairly straightforward. Am I being to impatient?

    Thanks for any feedback,

    Sasha

  5. Hi Rahul,

I've just sent off the form to say that I have all my documents for the spouse visa & have already arranged my medical for the end of the month as was asked to do this as soon as possible by the embassy (should add that whole process to date has been through US Embassy in London).

Once you'd sent off your form saying that you had all doc's how long did it take till you had your interview?

Thanks for any help you or others might be able to provide.

    Hello all

I have followed the forums for a while and read about people who share the same frustrations as I over the Visa process, so I thought I would post a few lines about my experience with the K3 interview in London I had today.

My interview was scheduled for 9am and I turned up nice and early at 8.15am and was directed into the appropriate queue by a nice lady! Note if you have anything in your pockets (wallet, coins etc) you will be given a clear plastic bag to put them in, also if you bring phones etc then you will have to leave them at the security gate as they are not allowed inside. Once in the right queue there then followed a wait of about 45 mins before someone looked at my form and passport and I joined another queue for entry into the embassy, this queue was about 15 mins long as they take everyone through airport style security (you will have to take off belts and watches and have them scanned).

Then I was inside the embassy, you follow the signs round the outside of the building for "VISAS" and then when you actually enter the building another nice lady at reception awaits you. She looks at your letter and passport, gives you a number and instructs you to go up the stairs into the main room and wait for your number to be called. The main room is nice and spacious, not to full and has plasma TVs around the place which have the numbers of people waiting to be called, which desk you should go to etc. There is also a loud speaker which calls out your number and tells you which desk to goto.....don't dally if you are called as they will skip you and then you have to wait longer! (Toilets are on the right as you enter the room!)

I waited about 5 mins before my number was called and then had to goto Desk no 1 where a lady (nice bu not friendly) asked me to do the following

    1. Give her my passport

    2. Give her photos

    3. Had to have my fingerprints taken

    4. Had to provide original and copy of Marriage Cert, Birth Cert, Police Cert

    5. Had to give her the Finacial Affidavit information from my wife.

I had all my papers in individual plastic sheets to be organised...she wasn't happy at this and told me to take them out of the sheets before giving them to her! Oh before I forget after giving her my photos she then told me to go round the corner to give my $100 processing fee which I did. In total I was with her about 10/15 mins.

As we finished she gave me a courier form which I had to fill my name and address out on so that when I was given the Visa they could courier the passport back to me. She then told me to sit and wait tobe called for interview.....I literally sat down for 30 secs and my number was called again!!!

So now for the interview...again very straight forward....questions were

    1. Where is your wife now (answer - in America)

    2. Raise your right and hand and promise to tell the truth (asnwer - ok then)

    3. Sign these two forms here and here

and then....ok you are done...you passed...please goto the courier desk, pay your fee and you will get your Visa in 3-5 days.

Less than 30 mins and I was done....pretty stright forward and everyone was nice.

So for those that still have to go through this....don't worry too much just make sure you have the right docs and you will be fine!

    Any questions let me know

    cheers
