It all happened VERY FAST. When they say expedite they mean it. On October 16th our case got to the consulate and on October 21st we got the appointment letter with an appointment date of November 3rd. So 5 days, but two of those days were the weekend. That was for an IR1 but I’m sure the timeframe is similar. We did not get to pick the date and they told us in the letter that if you can’t go to the appointment to expect a significant delay for the next one. When you go online to register for the courier you can pick the biometrics appointment but there were not that many options. We called the medical clinic directly to make an appointment. My husband had to spend 6 days in Juarez because his biometrics was on a Friday and his appointment was on a Tuesday.

Did you have any problem registering your appointment on the website and scheduling the Biometrics?  I try to go through the process of picking the courier and all.  When i get to the payment page it says no appointments are available to try again later.  We received our appointment letter today for Nov 23.  Wont let me pay the fee or schedule the Biometrics.  It seems like the online portal is not picking up the fact that we already have a appointment scheduled.  Any advise would be helpful. :)

My husband just had his interview (emergency) in Juarez on Nov 3rd. He went to La Fronterra and did it on Nov 2nd at 7am. He was in and out within an hour. He went back later for the results around 2:00pm but they send them to the consulate through email now because of covid. He did have to pick up his X-ray CD though. He brought his vaccination records but they still made him get 3 vaccines. Total cost was $417 USD 🤢

Thanks for the reply. How soon after your file arrived at the embassy from the NVC did they schedule your interview? Did you get to pick the date or they just gave it to you?

What exactly are the requirements for an emergency appointment?

I guess you can try for an emergency for anything you seem to feel is an emergency. Doesn’t mean they will see it how you do of course but if you truly feel you have a real emergency then I would try.  Email them. State your emergency. Provide proof and see what they say.

Our case is a medical emergency for my fiancé in Mexico. Turn around time from request to approval was about 8 days. Was notified yesterday the embassy accepted our emergency request. Checked today and file is already showing in transit from the NVC. Hoping the file arrives by next week. Will keep the thread updated on any news about an appointment.

The issue is you requested an expidite at the NVC, and you got it, so they ship it to the embassy right away. That's the end of the expidite, in order to speed it up at the embassy, you will need to get a expidite approved there also. Contact the embassy after they received your petition and see if you can get a expidite interview. But reading the letter it looks like it might get expidited at the embassy, but you still have to contact them separately from NVC.

The email says the embassy accepted the case for expedited processing.  Sounds to me like the embassy already approved the expedite request or else they would have denied it and told the NVC not to send the file.  In prior emails, the NVC told me they can't expedite a case.  That is up to the embassy to request the file from them.  Am I missing something?  Thanks for the advise and help.

I believe both clinics are open.  Male an appointment for right after doing the bio.

We used International Medical Center and was in and out in about 90 minutes.   We had to come back that afternoon to pay and get the packet.

Perfect!  Thank you so much for the reply.

  6. Hello Everyone.

Just wanted to ask if anyone on here knew if the medical facilities were open around the Juarez embassy?  We are going to have our appointment coming up here soon for our K1 and wanted to know what the scheduling was like for the medical.  I assume you can't just walk in and need a appointment?  Thanks all!

  7. Hello Everyone.

So we sent a request to the NVC a few weeks ago to expedite our case.  They got in touch with the embassy in Juarez for us.  We provided our proof and they accepted our request today.  My question is has anyone else on the board been through this process recently with the embassy in Juarez Mexico and can provide any info?  They said they are sending our file immediately.  Any insight into possible turn around times once the file is received for them to schedule the interview?  Could it be as quick as a few days?  Thanks all!!
