  1. Thanks for the reply. I decided a while ago the relationship was dead. It would have been nice if he had told me though. I had to find through his Facebook page that he was single. To be honest I am glad because I know if I contacted him now it would mean threats and abuse and I can't handle any more from him. I am happier now without all of that and am getting on with my life and he would only make me depressed and take me to a place I don't want to go.

  2. Last March I went to see an immigration lawyer in America with my then fiance to see how I went about moving to America on a Fiancee Visa. I was told that because my dad was ill with Cancer I could get married while I was there and invite my Fiance's friends to prove we were married but not tell Immigration. I decided not to go that route as I felt it wasn't right for me.

I came back to England and my dad deteriorated and sadly died last September. I was too caught up in my Dad dying and didn't think to tell the lawyer. Anyway I thought he was going through with the immigration papers and thought he would contact me since he had my email address.

In October my fiance told me he was having his internet and phone disconnected and that is the last I heard from him.

A few weeks ago I received an email from the lawyer saying he had been in contact with my fiance and got the impression I didn't want to move to America. I replied to it saying that my dad had died and because of that and not hearing from my fiance since October I couldn't move. I still haven't got a reply to that and now think I never will.

I just wondered if it was common for a lawyer not to contact you for a year after filing immigration papers with them and for them to contact one person but not the other one. Also is it common for people to get married but not tell immigration.

  3. will you love move to england to be with you if you give up on the k-1? does your SO keep in touch with the laywer as well so they could help find out what it is that may be needed? talk to your SO and see what other options the 2 of you can come up with. best of luck :star:

My SO is the reason I don't want the visa anymore. He has made it virtually impossible for me to marry him, which is why I don't want the visa.

  4. How do I tell the American immigration lawyer we were using that I no longer need a visa. There are just too many problems and I feel I can't move to America. I don't know how far along the K1 visa is because I have had no contact with the lawyer for weeks. I did email him but last I heard was that he was away for a few days and needed some more things for the visa. However he hasn't got back to me on what they are and I don't know what to do. What do people suggest? Also how hard is it to say you don't want a visa anymore.

  5. I meant to say I live in England and we have now split up. For lots of reasons but I wanted to end it because of how badly he treated me.

He had asked me to ask a friend of his who is a lawyer about getting an immigration lawyer. We didn't sign anything for the immigration lawyer except the forms for the K1 visa. The lawyer did say that we could get married but not tell immigration. I am glad I didn't go down that route.

I never put my name to anything except to email people but the forms were all signed by him. I never put my name to the house and we certainly never had a prenup saying I would give him the money.

He did tell me he would sue me for breach of promise and now says he wants all the money he paid even though there was nothing to say I would do that. He claims he is suing me becasue Heather Mills sued Paul McCartney and we went onto a website and had a virtual wedding and now he thinks that it is legal even though it isn't.

I am just scared he can sue me and I know if he could he would. I know is isn't the first time he has threatened me with the police and the law but this terrifies me. I know now he doesn't love me and while I always guessed it this has just proved it.

  6. I was just wondering when forms Form DS-156, Form DS-156K, Form DS-157, Form DS-158, Form DS-230, FC-029 are used. Are they sent with the application or are they only used at the interview. Also what address do you put at the top of the Fiance Letter of Intent. Is it the address of the person who is the American citizen or their Fiance.

  7. I am engaged and have been for a while. My Fiance lives in Chicago and we were wondering which visa is easier to get the Spouse visa or the Fiance visa. Can anyone help and give advice as to what to expect when we apply since neither of us have applied before.

  8. I am wanting to send in forms for a fiancee visa but I don;t think i have the originals. I have just got back from America this time and have the ticket for this time but found it while I was aay my mum threw away the other things when she decided to tidy my room and throw things away. I needed them and she knew it but still threw them away. I have scanned copies but I dont know if that will be enough. My Fiance has copies of tickets when he came over here so would that be enough or do I need more. I have the stamps in my passport to show I visited and the itinerary from the online site. We also have some pictures of the two of us together. Please Help I have no idea what to do.

  9. I have to include an extra sheet of paper with my job details on it. I just wondered what i put on the application form to let them know there are additions and what do I write on the top of the additional sheet of paper.

  10. You need to help us here. :help: US :help: YOU

Your profile and timeline lacks data that can help understand where you are in your visa process. Details like filed for, and country helps, timeline is crucial to know if you are talking about forms filled out bu US citizen for filing the petition or forms filled out by benificiary for the consulate.

You are not filing for N/A, and your country is not N/A

    :time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=34647

Are you the US Citizen or benificiary?

    What form are we talking about? (I-134, DS-230, DS-169, G-325A, I-129F.....

I am the fiancee of an American Citizen and we have only just started filling out the forms.

  11. I have found out where I worked and for how long so I can put it on the forms. The only problem is one of the places I worked has changed owners and is now known under a different name. Do they contact the places to see if I worked there or is it just for them to see I have the money. I am only asking because if they asked them they wouldn't know who I was.

  12. Also can I use the baggage labels as I can't find the boarding passes for when I went in February. I have my passport stamped but it wasn't for Chicago in September as I went via Atlanta so would that be OK.

Baggage labels might not work...if you're referring to the long sticky thing they place around the handle. It does have the flight number, but it may not have the destination and/or date. Don't you have stamps in your passport to show you were in your fiancé's country?

I do but I just thought it would be something extra. I looked on them and it has the dates and the destination just not the year.

  13. I don't think you are allowed to choose your consulate. There are example forms in the Guides section that will show you how to fill out the forms. Read through those, it will help immensely. :)

When filling out the forms for jobs can i do it from September 2002 or do i have to do it from January that year.

  14. I went through London last year and it took me around 7 months in total. London is one of the better consulates to go through and, as a rule, they tend to be one of the quicker ones.

There are exceptions, of course, but generally they're pretty good.

Can you chose which Consulate to go through or do they chose for you. Also can anyone give us advice about filling in the forms because both of us are really confused by them.

  15. I live in England and have just got engaged and my fiance wants to file the forms. I just wondered how long it will take for the whole process to be over. Also are there any other forms apart from the I-129F and the G-325a forms that need to be signed. Also is it an easy process or can there be any problems with it.

  16. I have met someone online in October who is from Chicago and he wants to marry me. We talk online every night and I went over there to meet him and his family in February and he met mine when he came over here to England in February. I just wondered how long people knew the people they got married to and how long it took them before they decided to get married.

  17. I am in England and met someone online. I went over to meet him and his family in February and he has just gone home after coming over to meet my family. We are talking of getting engaged in September when I am going over to see him again. I hope people know the answers to some questions because I don't know where to start.

Should we start the immigration process when I am in America (I am going over on the visa waver programme) or should we wait till I get back.

Does the two year rule mean we have to wait two years to apply or can we apply after one year.

He wants to get an expedited visa What does that mean also how does he go about getting one.

Does he have to apply for the visa or can I do it.

How many pictures are needed of the two of us.

What sort of other things do they need to see that isn't stated on the forms.

I hope someone can help because we have no idea where to start.
