  1. From what I have read so far, everyone's experience has varied. I recommend trying to visit your office during a time it is not busy, and asking politely if you can do an early bio. I am not sure calling will be fruitful, as I didn't read that anyone has has a good response calling them.

Do a search for "early bio" to see some more threads on this.

thanks a lot for this info i should really do that before i go cos i really worry about this too.God bless you..thanks again,,myra

Do you already have tickets for your flight? Make an infopass before you leave and they will take you. They are required to ask the reason why you can't wait for your assigned date so with tickets in hand, I don't see how anyone will say no when you clearly can't make it. I did an early walk-in bio last week 5-20 instead of waiting till 6-10 which was my date. I told them I will be in Texas for training and they said o.k. Be prepared to wait for hours if they are busy. They will be doing you a favor so just relax.

yes i do have already my ticket...thanks for the reply.myra

We send a request to reschedule it.Anybody who had experienced could please tell me how long it takes to get another schedule after the request?or is it possible to just walk in and do it earlier before my travel?meanwhile i got another one schedule which said the date is on june 7.2010, two schedule in a row which is confusing. We send the 1st request on the 1st schedule they sent us,do we have to send another request for the second one to reschedule?please somebody could share some information about this, will truly appreciated, thank you.

  3. Hey I lived in a socialist country for 7 years. We were very poor there. Socialism is a complete failure where it is tried.

It is much much better to be poor in the US, I know from personal experience.

The problem with the left is that they know so much that is not. Government elites will dictate and run your life. America is special because of opportunity not trying to be socailist like the rest of the world. For the Obama lovers there are other socialist countries to move to and see the failure.

There is nothing new with Obama. In four years we will all be crying, just remember Jimmy Carter.

  4. Last year I visited Butuan city, with my 8yr old son. My wife, back then fiance is from there, barangay ong yiu. The best place to stay is Almont Inland resort, $65 a night which is very close to the mall (do not be confused with the Almont Motel which is in the City). The Almont has nice accomadations, a great swimming pool, ac, cable television, free breakfast.

The city is safe but like any city I would stay in at night. Staying with the family is a good idea. (Karaga is seedy, there are GRO there... my fiance forbid me to stay there. Dotties place is also nice but a bit far out of the City.

Take Cebu Pacific, they have a flight from Manila to Butuan every day. PAL has a flight also but is more expensive.

I think it is best to go to her hometown. Spend time with her family. Do the "Pamamanhikan".

In general there is not much to do in Butan... there are a few beaches near by.

I think the worst thing is the flooding, Butuan is under the sea level and is a floating city. Be prepared to wade through water.

Butuan has the oldest known archelogical finds in the Philippines. There is a near by museum, which is nice to visit.

let me know if you have other questions.

  5. hey, dont worry so much. We had our interview on August 13. We were one of the last to be interviewed close to 11:30. I would say that most got approved. Out of the many we saw only 2 seemed upset. Most were giving thumbs up and were smiling when they came out of the interview.

Anyhow our interview was very quick about 3 minutes. If your paperwork is in order, I think you are ok.

    Hang in there...

  6. My fiance is coming on Saturday. She wants to setup her phone for roaming, so she can text message her family. She will only bring the sim card.

Does she need to maintain a load every month? Will her SIM card work in the US?

    I have cingular.

  7. :dancing::dancing::dancing:We were Approved!!! :dancing::dancing::dancing:

We saw Vilma in line for fingerpint scanning...

Only two curveball questions from the CO:

    "What is his favorite food?"

"What kind of sports does he like?"

The CO did not ask me any questions and neither did the pre screener.

Novelyn aced ALL the questions!

Also, while we were there we met a very nice couple who is also on VJ.. Tom and Myra!

They saw the same CO right after we did...

Thanks Novelyn & Gragg, we were aproved also. I think most got approved today. I saw only one lady who was upset... everyone else we met today came out smiling. Our experience went smoothly. Thanks to VJ we got compliments for the paper work and organization.

  8. You have to be "documentry qualified". It has to leave the NVC before it is scheduled. I was able to call the DOS (phone number in Sheriff Ulings guide) a few days after it left the NVC. They will give you the medical and interview date.

  9. In the packet 4 instructions about the police cert it states "Applicants aged 16 years and older must also

present police certificates from other countries where they have lived for six (6) months or more

after reaching the age of 16."

How do they measure the 6 months?

Is it total accumulated time? or is it the actual span in months?

My fiance entered and exited a country but the total time spent in the country is less then the 6 months.

  10. I have looked for this on the forum but no luck...

As you all know, , Filipinos usually have nicknames. My fiance has one and has used it on all her emails.

For the police certificate it does say to get one for all names and nicknames. When she applied for the NBI clearance she also listed her nickname but it does not show up on the NBI clearance. Does she need a separate NBI clearance for her nickname?

  11. I was at the airport in June of 2007. So this will fit between steps 9 and 10, and applies to all international flights. About an hour before the flight they will clear out the waiting area and rope it off. All passengers have to go through security again. Rescan of hand luggage, empty pockets, take off shoes, etc...They have a booth and will re check you passport. Also randomly they will hand check carry on baggage. In total there are 3 security checks.

  12. I have a few questions but I will explain the situation.

My fiancee worked in Malaysia for 13 months. Her company could not get a work visa so they would enter with a tourist visa. Every month they would exit the country through Thailand or Singapore... and then enter again with a tourist visa. To get a Police Certificate of Good Conduct you need a Malaysian Identification Card, which she did not receive since she entered with a tourist visa. How can she receive a police certificate? Or how can I email the State Department? Or the embassy in Manila?

    Thanks :help:
