  1. Hello All!

Long short story, I have two pending I-485 applications (I mailed the second application because I thought USPS lost my first package). I ended up receiving two receipt notices for I-485. After I realized that my first package was actually delivered to USCIS Chicago Lockbox I immediately called the Bank and requested a stop payment on my 2nd check in hope that they just reject the 2nd package and send it back to me. However, USCIS managed somehow to process the 2nd I-485 application and mailed me A receipt notice. I called a tier 2 USCIS agent and he advised me to withdraw the 2nd I-485 application but I honestly don’t trust USCIS to get the withdrawal done right. What do you guys think I should do?

I filled in form G-1450 -Authorization for Credit Cards Transactions.  Put in my cc#, and mailed it with AOS forms.  Word of caution though.  My first credit card company rejected the charge as fraudulent.  I had to resubmit, used another credit card and called them to warn them about the charge and all was well.  Bit it cost me 2 weeks processing time.

Hey! Did USCIS mailed the whole package back to you when they rejected the payment? Or did they keep the package and waited for you to update them with a new credit card info?

  3. So I mailed I-485 application with USPS on October 11 but there was issues with tracking the package and eventually USPS told me that the package is probably lost. So I prepared another I-485 application (this time I included I-765 and I-131) and mailed it on October 29 to USCIS using UPS mailing services. On October 31 I got a message from USCIS that says they received my green card application on October 30. However, on the Receipt of notice (I-797) it shows that the priority date is October 15... which means that they probably received the first package that I mailed with USPS. I’m worried now that there will be confusion with the second I-485 application package they receive. What do you guys think I should do? Will they realize it? I’m worried I’ll get charged twice

  4. I’ve just filed my I-485 package (concurrently with the EAD and Advance parole applications) to the Chicago office. I’m adjusting my status based on my k-1 visa. I just checked the case status at USCIS and it shows this: “On October 30, 2019, we received your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number IOE#######, and mailed you a receipt notice. It is being processed at our Integrated Operating Env location. The notice describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.” This is a little confusing since we filed the application on papers and mailed them via UPS. Did anyone else receive the same I-797 receipt of notice?
