I came across your post about the copy of your folio being rejected. May ask which document you submitted? We obtained the copy of my husband's book of birth's folio from NRP in Tegucigalpa and I am hoping it was the correct document.

I had submitted the literal, followed by the book of birth's folio. Now i only submitted the folio, let see what happens!

  2. Hi Guys

I'm new to the forum,  so here goes  i'm from Honduras and my mother is resident the USA, and she's applying for my paper  so far am at the process of uploading the documents to CEAC. All have been accepted except one which is my birth certificate.  The first feedback i received from the document, when they label it as invalid was : This document is not in the right-side up position. Please replace this with a scan which displays the words horizontally on the screen.( Resubmit the inscripción de nacimiento). So i corrected the mistake and resubmitted it.

50 days later, i received an update, the document was reject with the following feedback:

Please replace these with an acceptable birth certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at htpps://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines

So am kind of confused of what's actually the problem? Seeing the guideline it said to submit a copy of the folio, which is what i did, followed by an literal. Now i know the literal, was not necessary but even so i still had the right one also. I'll appreciated it if anyone can give me you input if you've pass through similar cases? Just wany to make sure i know what's wrong so i can get it right these time.

This is just a heads up to people applying for visas in Honduras the accepted birth and marriage certificates have changed. The Expediente de Vida is no longer accepted. No forma literal is accepted. Just the Inscription de Nacimiento and the Inscription de Matrimonio. Confirmed with the supervisor. This changed a month ago while we were being reviewed, right after we submitted. Which is just the worst. The supervisor was actually really sorry, because we sent the right documents and still have to resend and we will lose 5 weeks for nothing, but maybe somebody else is compiling their IV packets with forma literals.

Note the website still says forma literal even though inscriptions are not forma literal.

Thanks for the info, however i did sumbitted my copy of folio , followed with the literal an it was rejected.( Not i know, the literal is not accepted) But i also had the correct one there.

    I received these message:

Please replace this with an acceptable birth certificate from a correct issuing authority. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines.

Has anyone experience a similar problem?

What was the reason NVC gave for the rejection?

There´s no other issuing authority than the RNP in Honduras.

I Got the same issue. They rejected it  an i received the same feedback as your, I'm completed confuse as you're. Did you submitted the copy of the folio as the one i attached with the proper translation?
