  1. My  fiancé and I are at the interview stage of our k-1 Visa journey.  We just need to complete our ds-160 application and then we can set up our interview date in Montreal Canada .

With that being said here is my dilemma.

I recently lost my job last month and so I went to Canada to spend the rest of our k-1 visa time over there until he gets his visa. We did not submit our packet 3 information and ds-160 application yet because we just found out that I am pregnant. Now my fiancé and I are thinking it’s best financially to withdraw our application and for him to remain in Canada to work and I will go back to the USA to find a job and have the baby there.    If he continues on with the K1- Visa and comes to the US he won’t work until his status is adjusted and gets the work permit and I feel like that will be hard on both of us once the baby comes.

So my question is, if we withdraw our application at the final interview stage will it affect our  later applications? Will the USCIS ask for reasoning as to why we never went through with the K1-Visa when we apply for the spousal visa in the future?we are planning to wait until he gets a visitor Visa to come to the USA then get married. This way he can visit me in the USA on that visitor visa the first year. Then we will apply for a spousal visa for him to come to the USA. That way by the time he is approved for it we would have been married for 2 years and he can get his “permanent “green card instead of a “2 year conditional” green card.

I’m looking for any advice on this situation. Is withdrawing too risky?

  2. My fiancé visa got approved and has been sent to the Canadian embassy. We are currently waiting for P3 so we can apply for  DS-160 application. Just my luck today I got fired at my current job. Now I’m wondering how to go about financial support for my fiancé.

so last year I worked only 4 months and o filed my 2018 taxes but i didn’t make enough. Now this year I have been working for 7months till I lost my job today. If my fiancé’s brother agrees to sponsor him and meets the income requirements  would I only need to provide his 2018 income tax papers and not mine at the interview? Or would I have to provide mine as well. Could our visa be denied if they find out I got fired and won’t have a job to support my fiancé anymore although his brother is our co-sponsor?

at the interview , if they ask my fiancé why I stopped working should he honest and just say “she got fired” or should he Say “she decided to change careers as explore other opportunities.. something along those lines. I’m wondering if they contact employers ?

  3. I am a US citizen living in the US and I have an approved K1Visa for my fiancé who lives in Montreal Canada.  Our case has been sent to the embassy in Montreal and we got this email attached.

What are my next steps? When will I get to complete my D-160 application? Should I be expecting a letter or an email next?

    Also,

Last year I worked for 4 months and filed taxes but it wasn’t a lot of money and won’t meet the requirements. I got a new job and I have been working there for 8 months now and my salary will meet the requirements when I file taxes for this year.  So I’m wondering if the embassy asks for financial documents to be submitted online with the DS-160 or will they ask for the financial documents only at the time of the interview? I want to know if I should start looking for a co-sponsor now or don’t  get one because by the time of my interview I would have filed my taxes for this year.

Also if we need a sponsor I was thinking of having my fiancé’s brother who also lives in the USA to be our co-sponsor. My fiancé’s brother is also listed as the co-sponsor for my fiancé on another application he has pending. Will that be an issue? We didn’t withdraw his other case because if the K1 doesn’t work atleast he has another chance with that one?

  4. Hey guys. Just wondering about the financial aspect of the K1 visa. I am wondering what I will need to provide to prove my income since I did not work a lot the previous year and so my income on my tax returns were very low. However , I currently have a new job where I have been working for 7 months and my income meets the requirements based off my rate of pay. What would I provide if asked for my income since I haven’t filed my income tax for this year yet.
