Any Curramberos out there that recently interviewed? I'm trying to time Brianys' flight to the U.S. along with the arrival of the visa from DOMESA. We will be interviewing on the 15th, which is a Tuesday so I assume she will be receiving the visa in Barranquilla by Friday the 25th, which is 8 business days, so hopefully she should be able to fly out by the 26th.
Also, I'm searching for the link to the Colombia Club that's in Spanish. Anyone have the link?

Call the USCIS to see what they say. They might be in a good mood today and send you a new one for free, if not, you'll have to pay to get it.
I also had to call them to get my NOA1 since I never received it and they said "We'll send you ANOTHER one in 30 days". I told them that it was not another one since I never received the "first one" in the first place. Then when I finally received it 60 days after I called, it said "Replacement copy of Notice of Action". They still said it was a replacement no matter what I told them.
Diana
Thanks for the info Diana! I'll give them a call today.

What if the NOA2 was never received?
You will need this form to file for AOS. If you lost it or never recieved it, you will have to file form I-824 and pay $340 to get a replacement.
Diana
Wow! I never received it in the mail. I didn't even receive my NOA1 from way back. Is there anything I can do to avoid that hefty fee, since I never received anything?

[quote The only thing you will need from your previous paperwork is the approval notice ( NOA2 ). You will english translations of the birth certificates, which I don't think is a problem for you.

I heard that the process for issuing the visa and wait time has changed. I've been told that the new wait time for issuing the visa is 8 days and that they mail it to you instead of issuing it in Bogota. Is there any truth to this?

Hi All...
I'm hoping someone with experience can help me with this question. I just filed a K-1 fiance visa for my fiance, Elias. When I go to visit in January, I'd like to bring some money with me (between 5 and 10 thousand dollars) to help with some debt that he has, so that it will be paid off before he comes here. Does anyone have any experience about the best way to do this. I'm not hugely excited about bringing that kind of cash with me, but I would be willing to if it was the only option. Also, are there laws/taxes that I need to be concerned about. Any advice would be wonderfully appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Traci
Hi Traci,
I usually use Xoom ( www.xoom.com ) when sending money to my girl in Colombia. It's safe, secure and fast. The have different methods of payment (i.e., Credit Card, PayPal, etc.). I'm not sure about the amount you're referring to but maybe you can send it in small amounts.

Dude, that sucks! What a beeoootch! Just out of curiosity, what city is she from? The reason I'm asking is because I've noticed that the girls in certain cities are a bit shady so you have to be careful.

The lab, the bank and the dr. office all ask to see the letter from the embassy.
If the bank is not happy with your DS-156 they will just give you a new one to fill out...no big deal...no worries buddy you will do just fine!!!!
And yes there is a bank location in B'quilla to pay for the visa...the bank locations should be listed in pkt 4...they will stamp the DS-156 with a number and that will go with you to the embassy
Hey Scott,
Regarding DS-156, was Yenifer's form expired? The form that my girl (Brianys) received is expired. I'm not sure if it's a big deal to them or not but I was just curious. Also, I know the form can also be filled out online and printed( https://evisaforms.state.gov/DS156_Spanish.asp ) but I don't anyone who has done it that way. Any thoughts?

¡Saludos a todos!
Regarding PCKT 3, form DS-156 is in Spanish and DS-156k is in English. Brianys is supposed to give the form DS-156 to the bank when she pays the $100. Even though the form is in Spanish I heard that the answers should be in English. I would like to get other opinions and/or advice. Thanks!

I am sure you all have seen this but just in case there are some new people out there in need of a consolidated info packet. This was very helpful to me and it has the Sept 2007 revised OF-169 included.
(Looks like Packet 3 for K1 & K2 - Bogota)

Quick note. That packet 4 link is not for K1 visas. The dead give a way is the $380 fee, k1 fee is $100.
This is the K1 packet 4 link

Gracias Diana por tu respuesta.

Hola Indira,

Diana
Hola Diana,
Gracias por tu respuesta. ¿Donde esta la lista?

Does anyone know how to access the Colombia Club? I keep reading posts about the Colombia Club, but I don't see how to access it.

Right now I can only assume this will cause delays in the short term, which sucks cause I feel like my NOA2 should be right around the corner
That sucks! I just sent off my I-129F at the end of May. So now this will probably double the waiting time.
-
Me alegra mucho de verdad.
-
Regarding the passport-style photo which is to be sent with the I-129F, the instructions specify the following:
"The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view."
What exactly do they mean by a 3/4 frontal view? The instructions specify a passport-style photo. To me, the "3/4 front view" sounds different than a normal passport-style photo.
-
In the I-129F instructions it states that if you send a copy of the birth certificate they want a copy of the front and back. Why would they ask for a copy of the back? What's supposed to be on the back?

Thanks a bunch!!!

I have a question regarding buying airline tickets when the passport and green card are in different names.
I'm trying to buy airline tickets to Colombia. Brianys has her green card, but her passport is still in her maiden name. Avianca requires that the passport and the ticket are in the same name. This is not a problem, however, on the return trip back to the U.S., she will have show her passport which has no valid visa because it's expired, but she now has her green card. I'm not sure if Avianca or Emmigration requires that the passport has a valid visa before being permitted to leave. Will there be a problem passing through Emmigration? Even though her passport and green card show different names, I would think that as long as she showed her passport, marriage certificate and green card to Avianca and to Emmigration then she should be able to pass through and be permitted to leave Colombia. Have any of you experienced this?
