  1. Hello,

My wife is American (born in France from American mother) and I'm French. We lived together in the US for 3,5 years and our son is born there. Since, we returned in France and had our daughter (1 year old).

We don't plan to go back in the US for the moment but we would like to have the dual citizenship status for our daughter.

Is it possible through the N600 even if we lived less than 5 years? Is there another way?

    Thank you for your feedback

    Emmanuel

  2. Thanks guys.

Yes I'm still married to my french/American wife.

But if I'm not mistaken now if we want to be a US citizen you cannot be American and French for example...you need to abandon your homecountry citizenship when you live in the US....I don't want that.

Plus citizenship is a long process and I m about to have job offers abroad.

For sure I will not come back within a year even 2 years...and I think it could be difficult to demonstrate that I always wanted to go back in the US ( required for SB1).

So even if it's maybe weird for some of you ( and I understand why) my best options will be to abandonned it.

    Thanks

    Manu

  3. Ok. Thanks for your replies.

    Scenario 2:

I may want to come back one day but I don't know when

I can apply for a reentry permit (max 2 years) and after for a Visa Sb-1.

In the I-131, the reentry permit refers to the "lenght of trip":...is it also for people who want to work abroad?

Also what kind of support documentation is needed for the SB1?

    Thanks

    Manu

  4. Did you move recently? Just curious why the 2 AR-11's...

We moved from France in Sept 2007 and move again in November 2007 on a second US adress.

    Thanks

and you reported then about your moves, right? and you are including copies of the receipts? it's a bit confusing from your post.

other than that, your application looks awesome!

Yes copies of AR11(receipt0 and attach lsit of adresses.

  6. Hi,

I'm preparing my I751 and I have a question for the financial records part as I'm a little concerned:

    I will have only :

    - joint tax return 2008 ( in 2007 my wife filled alone as I didn't have any incomes)

    - health insurance 2007,2008,2009 showing both names and me as a dependent.

    - my wife life insurance showing me as a benificiary

    - car insurance for our two cars with both names 2007,2008,2009

    - my wife 401K showing me as a benificairy

I don't have joint utility bills as she is paying water and I'm paying cable, electricity...should I add this as it showing the same adress ?

We don't have any joint bank account...?

What do you recommend to add?

Is it an issue to not have joint bank accounts?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Emmanuel

My file will have : joint lease contracts, pictures, driver licenses, airline confirmation trips, cellphone bills ( showing we call each other everyday :) ) , affidavits

  7. Hi,

I have a few questions regarding the I751:

    - the I751 should be received by the USCIS at least 3 months before the end of the temporary status or within the 3 months?

    - Will I receive the new status ( 10 years ) before the end of temporary residency or after?

    - For the 10 years of the green card , the 2 years of temporary status are included? that means 2y + 8y total or 2y + 10y?

    - If I decide to move back definetely to France , let's say during my third year in the US I will keep my permanent residence status? What happen if I want to come back just as a tourist to visit family?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

  8. hi everybody,

I just arrived in the US with my visa CR1.

As we have changed our adress I should fill a AR11 form even if it's a temporary adress. ( the officer at the airport told me not to do it : only with my new permanent adress!)

Nevertheless I have a question on this form : what is the A number and where should I find this information, I have nothing on my visa for this. Is it a mandatory information when you fill the AR11?

    Thanks for your information.

    Regards

    Emmanuel
