you can call uscis and ask for your case number, usually it takes 4 days for them to receive the docs from DoS.
If anybody is struggling with getting fav recommendation from DoS, it could make it faster if you email them and come up with some excuse for expedition.
Thank you for your quick reply. I received the hard of DOS favorable recommendation on October 25 and found they sent the fav recommendation to USCIS vermont service center on October 21. Can you tell me what will be the best number to reach vermont service center. Thank you so much.

Yay finally got my approval from uscis on 13th of septermber, it was updated on website but i have not received anything yet (nor receipt notice).
my timeline:
Nos sent to Dos: 21st august
Nos received at DoS: 22nd august
DoS fav recommendatoin: 28 august
uscis accepted my case: 4th sept
uscis approved my case: 13th sept
good luck everyone!
If you didn't get the receipt notice from USCIS, how did you check your status and how did you confirmed that USCIS accepted and approved your case? DOS sent the favorable recommendation to USCIS for me on October 21, since then didn't receive any receipt notice from USCIS.

That also confirms my initial comment. When I sent my application in August. It arrived in Missouri on the 6th, DoS cashed the check on the 7th. Embassy sent NOC electronically on August 7th. The first update came on August 27th without my NOC despite being sent on August 7th. I believe before they update your NOC, they will update your application 1st.
My NOC was updated on August 28 a day after.
Give a week more before you panic.
Thank you. Will update here.

DoS advice you should wait at least a month before checking. I guess a month from Sept 6 is still a couple of days away.

Thats not the concern. DOS reply back my email and said they didn't received the NOC from my embassy yet, thats why they are not updating the case. Although embassy sent it on Sept. 6. So my question is can my embassy fax the NOC to DOS?

Hi I confirmed that DOS received my documents for J1 waiver on Sept. 6 from the fedex tracking. I called emabassy and they confirmed they sent NOC to DOS at Sept. 6. I received my copy of NOC after Sept. 20 from the embassy. However the DOS was not updating their website, so I email them 10 days ago and today they replied they didn't receive NOC yet. I contacted embassy and they said they will fax it again. My question is that ok if embassy fax it to DOS or they need to mail it using a tracking system? Any suggestions would be helpful. TIA.

Hi, Sorry to hear about your situation. I actually get my final waiver from USCIS on Nov first week. Its better to email the DOS, don't call them , they asked not to call them in the instruction. Actually they reply 2 weeks after you email them. Also if your embassy didn't send the NOS to DOS, DOS will not start working. It took around 2 months for me to get the final waiver. Thanks.
