  1. for anyone who's going through Juarez, my packet left the NVC on the 8th. I emailed this morning and got a response saying that Juarez had ALREADY SENT OUT MY PACKET!! Which means they're averaging a little under a week. I'm gonig to rush home after work and see if it's there. Yipee!!!!

Wooo!! That's great news. NVC sent mine to Juarez on Monday, so maybe they'll have it on it's way to me by the end of the week! Keep in touch. It looks like we might be making our trips to Juarez soon!!

  2. When I called NVC and they told me they had sent out the packet, I asked if they could see what address was on record for me (I put in a change of address some weeks ago on USCIS online) and they still had the old one.

I tried to call the consulate in Juarez, but I couldn't get access to a phone that would allow me to make a call to a 900 # yesterday, so instead I used the email on the immigrant visa section of the Juarez consulate. I sent it kind of late yesterday and by 10 AM today, they wrote back and said they put my new address in their computer system and would send the letter as soon as possible!

    Let's hope it's true!

So, if you're unsure about where the embassy/consulate will send your packet, call or email them. It might help.

  3. So, I just got my NOA2, not expecting to make it to NVC for a few weeks. But since we all LOVE the numbers, I thought maybe we could keep tabs on January filers who've made it to the NVC and how long it took to get there? And keep track as more of us get there after last week's CSC funrun on NOA2s?

Any takers? I know I've seen some Jan NOA2s get there already . . .

Would it make more sense to resort the data and say May NOA2 receivers instead of Jan NOA1 receivers?

I'm totally in. I bet all of us that got NOA2 will get to NVC together, so we might as well help each other watch!

  4. Just getting started on the checking with NVC thing :) I can't believe how much better I feel after NOA2 even if there's still quite a wait!

In case anyone is interested, here's the website with all the contact info for NVC:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html

I called the automated line and it said they had no record of my case, so it hasn't been received (no surprise).

I'm assuming this is as good a way as any to check if they've received it? No benefit to talking to someone in person or waiting for a response by email, right?

Let's hope we all get there in less than 3 weeks!

  5. Hi all,

I just joined yesterday and was soooo happy to find you all. Our case was touched at CSC last Wed and Thurs and not since.

How do you get through all the way to the CSC to find out if you have been approved? I've only gotten through to the customer service center where they have the same info that's online.

    Thanks!!

    Kate
