  1. Hello friends,

So we are in the process of our CR-1 spousal visa (please transfer me to correct forum if I am not in).

Our petition has been approved and we are on the NVC processing step. For my husband's birth certificate, we had to hire a lawyer last year to fix it because when he was born he lived with his grandparents, so his grandparents were listed as his parents. We paid the lawyer, everything was legal on that end to change the birth certificate. I am wondering, when we go to submit his long birth certifictae, they will see that it was changed last year. Do you think an explanation of why it was changed, from the lawyer obviously would be good to submit or do you think they would or would not ask about it? Thanks for your help!

  2. Hi friends,

My I130 petition was approved and right now we are in the process of getting together the AOS paperwork and my husband's civil documents. Long story short, he moved away from Honduras when he was 18 so I do know that he will need a police record from there. We have one from Belize for him, where he is a national and lives full time since 18 (now 29). My question is.. we got a police record for him in October, it expired in April (2 months ago). Due to COVID, it is pretty bad in Honduras, my husband is not able to get another one because everywhere is closed, all the offices. I am wondering, do you think if I type up a letter stating that due to COVID we cannot get an updated one and include copies of the stamps in his passport that show he has not left Belize or even been back to Honduras in years, that they will take that in these cirumstances? It is so hard to know what to do especially right now. Would appreciate any advice, thanks.

  3. Hello. I am getting ready to send in my petition for the CR-1 visa for my husband. I have read as much as I can and am pretty confident with everything but just want to double check here. In regards to my husband information (birth certificate, passport, nationality, etc), I do not need copies of any of his information as of yet? I do not need to include any of that in packet for the first stop of sending in my petition? I know of course I will need this stuff later on, just wondering about this first step. Thank you in advance!

  4. Hello friends,

My husband and I are finally getting ready to submit out petition for his CR-1 Visa application, ahhh!!! In regards to a bona fide marriage, we have our marriage certificate, daughters birth certificate  letters from individuals in our lives giving their words on our relationship together, we have letters from our landlords stating that we have lived together, etc. We have a document full of pictures and I created a timeline, the only thing I cannot get is previous conversations throughout the duration of our relationship. I can get them from now and a few months ago but not in the beginning, anyone know if we do not submit conversations, is that going to be okay?

  5. Hi friends,

Husband and I are getting everything around to apply for Cr-1 Visa. Our daughter just turned 1, we would have sooner but he was originally born in Honduras and his birth certificate had mistakes on it (parents wrongly listed and gender mistaken) Which I have sense found out, is not all that uncommon in Central America. We hired and paid for a lawyer to fix it, got a DNA test between him and his mother and now have his new one that states on it the day it was revised. How do we go about this situation in regards to the Cr-1 visa. It states that an original is needed so they will obviously know that we had to get the original fixed. Thanks for your help!
