Just make a day of it lol.. get in the queue and go for gold
I wish I could! I can't even do that, because the system just hangs up on me if I don't type in a 'valid' phone number. It's mind boggling that the immigration hotline can't accept international phone numbers.

I'm trying to make an expedite request on my wife's I-130 application. We currently live in South Korea. Last week, I called the USCIS international phone number (212-620-3418). The person I talked to said he would transfer me to a tier two officer. I got put on hold with a message saying the wait time was 360 minutes and to type in my phone number. I typed in my phone number, but I got a message saying it was invalid. I'm guessing this is because my korean phone number has too many digits. I decided to try again today, and this time the person I talked to said that the expedite request was already made. I'm not sure if that means that my request is being processed or if it just shows on my file that I previously called to make an expedite request. When I asked her, she said had to transfer me to a tier two officer. I told her about what happened before and asked for the information to be sent to me by email instead.
Would an expedite request show up on my online account? I don't see anything different there.
Is there another way to request an expedite other than by phone? Has anyone had success calling USCIS internationally? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am an American citizen married to a Korean citizen. We have two children who are dual citizens.
Last fall, I completed a master's degree program in education from an American university. This university's masters program allows for students to obtain teaching certification after completing a teaching practicum course on-site at the university. I completed the I-130 application last fall with the plan of enrolling in the course whenever my wife obtained her green card. The application is currently pending in the Nebraska field office, so that most likely means early 2021 according to the timelines on this site.
I just received word from the university that starting in 2021, the practicum course will go from one semester to a full year. Therefore, I need to enroll in the class this fall.
Is there any way for my wife to move with me in the fall? Since I won't be able to work full time while I'm enrolled in the class, we are planning on staying at my parents house during that time. We can't really afford for my wife to rent an apartment in Korea while I live in America, or for my wife to visit and fly back to Korea. Does that qualify as 'severe financial loss" to expedite the I-130 visa? Or, should we try to apply for the K3 visa? Do we have any other options?

I tried to pay for my I-130 form with a credit card, I just got an email from my credit card company saying that it was declined. I fixed the issue with my credit card, now do I have to wait for my application to be declined, or is there someway I can contact someone to have the payment processed again?

Thank you for the help.
If I begin the spousal visa process now, can she still travel without a visa in January?

That's what I was afraid of.
In that case, I would like to complete my course and then return to Korea. Is there anyway my wife and kids can visit me during that time?

Hello,
I am an American citizen currently living in South Korea. My wife is Korean; we've been married for six years and we have two children who are both American citizens.
I am planning on going back to America to enroll in a university class that will last 15 weeks. After I'm finished with the class, I'm not sure if I will stay in the US or go back to Korea.
I was planning on bringing my wife with me either on an tourist visa, and then if we decided to stay in America to apply for an immigrant visa.
However, I have been researching the visa process and I'm not sure if this is the correct option. Will my wife have difficulties obtaining a tourist visa in this situation? If she does get a tourist visa, will we have difficulties getting a green card in America? Is there another visa option? I don't think it makes sense to apply for an immigration visa now, since I don't have a permanent residence in the US (I'll be staying with my parents), I won't have an income while I'm there, and I'm not sure if I will be staying there long-term or not.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Restarting the visa process after one year

My wife is a Korean citizen, we currently live in Korea and are hoping to move the US next year.
We originally applied for my wife's green card in November 2019. The I-130 was approved in May of 2020. Due the pandemic, we were unable to move to the US. The Korean embassy's website stated that the i-130 expired after two years, and various threads on this forum said that the i-130 didn't expire. In May of this year, I received a letter from the National Visa Center that said my case would be terminated in one year (May 2022) if I didn't pursue the visa application.
Now, I'd like to re-open my case. However, when I tried to do so, I received a message that said fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted, and that I should contact the NVC to pursue my immigrant visa application. I've sent an online inquiry with the National Visa Center, and now I'm waiting for their reply. Does anyone know what will happen with my case? Will I have to start the whole process again from the beginning?
