  1. In April, apparently I was fortunate to receive very short approval for 129F (~3wks). In fact, after investigation last week, it actually was approved sooner than the transfer notification was able to be sent through the system.

Now the tough part - confirmed with the NVC last week as part of the troubleshooting that they have not received the paperwork. We are going on 55 days. I was informed that it "can" take 90days. However, it does not appear that others are experiencing this same time lag.

What are others thoughts and suggestions?

It is also frustrating that the I130 is quickly approaching the 4month time frame.

    Appreciate the feedback.

I am also curious why the wait time from CSC to NVC. My I-129F was approved 3 weeks ago and NVC still hasnt received mine. I thought the petition was simply being mailed from CSC to NVC. I know the US post service can be slow, but this is absurd. When I send correspondence via mail it rarely takes more than a week. If anyone can shed some insight on the process (how its sent, how its received, etc.) please enlighten us.

  2. I have a question for the forum. I am getting conflicting information from what my lawyer is telling me versus what the NVC representative is telling me. I received an email from CSC saying that my I-129F was sent to the NVC on the 23rd of May. From what I read on the FAQ and K3 guide in VJ, once the NVC receives the petition it is assigned a case number and then forwarded directly to the embassy. My lawyer is telling me that is not true. She said once the NVC assigns a case number, it is sent back to us with a packet that we have to complete (AOS) and send back to the NVC and then they forward to the embassy.

My situation has another twist. I have also filed for the I-130 and the NVC sent us the bar coded packet with the DS-230 and I-864 on 5/22 (we still havent received it).

My primary goal is to bring my wife here as quickly as possible since she is 5 months pregnant.

In my opinion, the K3 will be received in Venezuela before the I-130, but my lawyer thinks otherwise. If the information in the FAQ is correct that the NVC directly forward to the emabssy, the I-129 petition can be there as early as next week. Since we still havent received the I-130 packet yet, I am predicting it can take up to anotjer 4-6 weeks before the I-130 gets to Venezuela.

Can somebody help clarify? What would you guys do if you were in my situation?

I dont have the specific dates, but my timeline is approximately the following:

    12/11/06 Filed for I-130

    2/28/07 Filed for I-129F

    3/8/07 I-129F sent to CSC

    5/2/07 I-130 approved

    5/18/07 NVC receives AOS Bill

5/22/07 NVC sends bar coded instructions with I-864 and DS 230 package

5/23/07 I-129F approved and sent from CSC to NVC

    6/1/07 (estimated) NVC receives I-129F ????

6/1/07 (estimated) Receive bar coded packet from NVC for I-130

  3. Your attorney gives you information contrary to the understanding of this board. You filed a I-129F, right? NVC has the approved I-129F, right? It will go on to the embassy and your spouse will be interviewed for a K3. When the I-130 is approved, it will be retained. Your attorney, if he/she is worth an ounce of salt, should know this ....

NVC got my petition Tuesday and by Tuesday night they'd assigned it a MOS number.

edit: gorockogo1, as I re-read your post, I'm not so sure I'm right. You haven't filled in a timeline, so it is hard to understand your situation, but it seems you have both an approved I-130 and an approved I-129F. And, contrary to most recent experience, it seems you've gotten some requests for NVC for paperwork pursuant to the I-130. It would help if you gave us more information and filled in your timeline. Perhaps your attorney has found a way to keep both petitions in play, even though USCIS says their practice is to send the I-129F on to State for processing and retain the I-130...

  6. Just found out that my case has left to the consulate (chennai, India). Thank God!!!!!!!

  7. After you logged in, the first page you see is the page. It's also known as your PORTFOLIO page. On the left side of the table gives a link to your case that my click to see what is being done. And, to the right of it is the date of last updated.

Oh no!!! It likes like they havent even started working on it!?!?!?! According to the information, it was last updated on 3/12/07. How can that be, when it was sent to the CSS on the 8th of March? I was expecting that they would have touched it sometime in April

I feel that this is terrible news:(

  8. LOL

Don't mistake the server uptime versus the date that has been posted for underneath the updated column before you click on your case number. The time at the bottom indicates the server time, not the time your file is being reviewed. I hope this will help your conscious.

Oh no. Now I am confused. I might be reading the wrong page. Where is the updated column? On the left side of the page I have "Change of Address, 'Services while youwait", etc. and then the body of the page "Receipt Number, Application Type" etc.??

  9. Your wife may get the medical exam. However, they may restrict the exam to just exempt from vaccinations and x-rays. The embassy will provide you with information of what must be done. This will not deny her chance of a VISA approval. Some embassy will simply say, once you give birth just mail the x-ray to them. Or, when you file for AOS, then provide them with the x-rays.

Consolemaster- Maybe it's just imagination, but it seems like my application has been touched numerous times today. Each time I refresh the Case Status page I have a different time. It almost seems to be that that date and time is the last time that their server is refreshed (in other words information as of that time).

Maybe I am not reading the correct touch date and time?

  10. What sucks is that my wife is 4 months pregant and if we dont get the approval soon she wont be able to travel (I believe airlines wont let pregnant women travel after their 6th month of pregancy.

Most will let pregnant women fly right up until the last weeks, for US based airlines, here's a good chart:

    http://www.babycenter.com/general/6976.html

I hope things work out for you, we were also hoping my wife would get here before the baby was born, but it looks like we we won't make it so I'm heading over in about two weeks to be there for the birth in Uganda.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS that you all are having a baby. It must be very exciting for you, but I imagine, a little anti-climatic since you are unable to be with your wife (at least that is how I feel, I wish I could be at her side to feel the baby kick, talk to the baby, massage her belly, etc.).

I was recently told that there is a possibility that even if my wife gets her K-3 visa approved before her delivery date, she may not be able to take the medical exams because they require x-rays? Have you heard anything like that? That would be a bummer...waiting all this time, getting the visa approved and not being able to travel due to a technicality.

  11. The estimates is from reading this board. It's from members within the past who've waited for their approval. I know, the apprehension is very hard to deal with. You are also at the CSC which is known to be longer than VSC. But, many who filed at CSC have also been known to be approved within the same processing times as VSC. I know for sure that you will not need to wait longer than 90 days, since most cases from CSC are approved within that period.

If the data and time on the bottom of the case status is the "touch" time, my case has been "touched" 4 times today. As you said earlier, it might not mean anything, but at least it gives me some hope.

    This is driving me crazy!!!

Thanks for your support. I needed to communicate with someone about this. It feels therapuetic

  12. My estimates is if not this week, early next week. Check with the airline at what point will they permit a pregnant woman to board. Some will allow, and some will not. Also, after your wife receive her K-3 visa, it also allows for renewal if in the case that the pregnancy will forbid her to board planes. GOOD LUCK!

    Thanks consolemaster for your advise.

Is your estimate a gut feeling or is it based off patterns that you are seeing/hearing on this board? I wish I had the same optimism as you. I guess I dont want to have immediate expectations or else I might set myself up for dissapointment and might have a depressing week.

  13. gotockogo1,

Yes. That is a touch. It can be a status change, or nothing at all. But, it does mean that the barcode on your folder at the service center was scanned.

    consolemaster-

It looks like we have approximately the same application dates. My I-797C (Notice of Action) was dated Feb 26,2007. On March 8th, the I-129F was sent to CSC. I am getting close to the 60 day mark. What sucks is that my wife is 4 months pregant and if we dont get the approval soon she wont be able to travel (I believe airlines wont let pregnant women travel after their 6th month of pregancy. I am sweating bullets and this anticipation (or lack of action) is drivng me crazy. It is so hard to keep my focus and concentration at work!!!

I didnt realize how inefficient our government was until going through this process

When are you estimating that you will get yours approved?

  14. This is nuts! Now I'm checking USCIS every 30 minutes.

I think I am going crazy. I check USCIS every 10 minutes. I can't focus on anything else. I am getting very depressed. No touches for me at all :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

I am not sure if I clearly understand. When I check the status online I get the following information:

Is the above date and time the touch information you are referring to? This seems to be just just the time I checkd the status?

  15. I just registered. This is my first post. It's probably a silly question, but what do you guys mean by being touched? I have a pending I-129F application that was transferred to the CSC on March 8th and I havent heard anything since. When I call the customer service center, they dont disclose any information other than the information that I already know (that the application was sent to CSC on the 8th). Is there another way of getting more specifics on the application status?
