How can I join the 601 support group?

    My background

Lived for 22 years in the US , married to a US citizen, came to US on C1/D visa. went back to US Embassy in Manila for an approved 601A  waiver but denied during my interview on July 2019. My lawyer filed for 601 waiver, extreme hardship due to my husband age and health status. He is 78 years old. I am a professional in medical field and have built my career in the US over the past 22 years. I am devastated but I feel for my husband. His health is now being aggravated by our separation. Any other tips that other folks have done to expedite their cases will be helpful. Thank you .

It will take a while. I am going through it now, I am done with waiver. Waiver approval will take between 7-9 months without expedite. At embassy, it seems for people like us, who have loooonngg overstay in the US they are doing background checks by default (another 2-3 months) but they do not start it until they do not have your approved waiver, sit tight.

After interview my visa was refuse for unlawful presence. now Eligible for a waiver

ok, you dont need to start over.. CEAC will say Refused until you have filed and gotten your waiver approved. Until such time, the processing of your visa application is suspended. They proceed only if you are able to get your waiver approved by the USCIS. It takes about 7-9 months for waiver processing and approval.

A lawyer just told me that.i would have to start the visa process all over again by doing i130 and everything's else once my waiver been approve. Is that true. Omg I hope not. 😣😣😭😭😭😭😭. My visa was refused  now doing the 601waiver. Please if anyone know it that true or false let me know. I'm stressssss. Started this processs since December 8 2017. 130 was approved Aug 3 2018. Visa refuse Sep 18.

Wait... you are all over the place 🤔 Do I understand it correctly: its a spousal visa that required you to file 601 waiver? you got the waiver approved? even with waiver approval your visa was refused? what was the refusal for?

  4. Window 70 is an intake window for all special services. I came in for the FPU interview. They did not ask anything that is not already known to me. At the end, I was informed that it is decision time for the CO. No more docs needed, no more interview. FPU will prepare their report and the CO will decide. When asked how long, they cannot give timelines.

I did not even pay attention to the FPM in the email you posted  .. .yes for sure they will interview you again.

A waiver does nothing more than "allow" you to apply, has little to do with the actual approval.

Remember to look them in the eyes when speaking, smile and answer only the questions asks .. then be quiet.     And .. relax.

I will have to learn to be quite for once. I promise to try to smile even if I will be a nervous wreck, I am so anxious, don't know what to expect, where to start.. but almost there

Window 70 is for lack of a better term, "special services".  My wife went to Window 70 to "check in" before her second interview

For some reason it got me so anxious. I have been waiting a full cycle of 2 months since my waiver approval on 8/8, I am constantly on edge.. Was interview on another window?

Visa Category: F1 (Unmarried daughter of the U.S Citizen)

My first interview was last month July 09, 2018 in U.S Embassy Manila after the interview the lady gave me a 221(g) form but they kept my passport. July 12, 2018 I submitted all the additional documents.

07 August 2018 received an email from the U.S Embassy Manila requesting me to return to U.S Embassy Manila and proceed to window 70. I just want to know if it is a good sign or a bad sign? I’m really nervous right now anyone can give me an advice regarding this issue. They don’t say anything only to return and proceed to window 70 😢

what takes place at window 70? did you get your visa? i'm asked to do the same and it is driving me anxious.

    Dear Ms. Sarreal,

Please be informed that you have an interview schedule at the Embassy on Wednesday, May 24 at 830am

When at the Embassy, please proceed to Window 70 for your interview.  Please don’t forget to bring a valid ID for entrance access at the Embassy.

Your post was from 2 years ago but I have been looking for answer on what happens at window 70. would you mind sharing your experience?

    So not true

How could it be no true? He barely met the income requirement as it is, being on disability will reduce it further. Although, I've got his Affidavit of Support marked as approved already by the CO during my initial interview. My husband is so paranoid with this visa application that he did not want to do anything that may possibly affect it even more. He could had gone for disability back in April but because of a pending i601 he did not and now this a pending AP. His condition was the exact reason my i601 was expedited but now the AP at embassy is delaying everything. It is very worrisome

Disability is not a Means Tested Benefits.

Social Security disability benefits are not means tested, although beneficiaries may lose eligibility if they engage in substantial gainful activity. Benefits are funded by a dedicated payroll tax paid by a worker and the worker's employer and by taxes paid by a self-employed person.

But this could jeopardize us not meeting the income requirement. :(

  11. Sadly, I think it is safe to conclude that my case is sent for SAO. An email received by my husband states "The Department of State is continuously working to refine our visa application, assessment, and security screening procedures.  Please note that every prospective traveler to the United States undergoes extensive security screening.  This screening draws on information from the full range of U.S. government agencies.  No visa can be issued unless all concerns raised through the screening process are fully resolved." OMG I had to brace myself for a lengthy wait time. My poor husband cannot even file for disability benefits he needed because it will affect my immigration case.

Have you heard anything about your case status?

I called today to ask for clarification on what they meant by their email. I was told that they mean my file is with the IV Unit and they are reviewing whatever information they have on me and once they are done with the review they will give the file back to the Consular Officer for final decision. I asked, if they can tell me if they are still waiting for anything else, answer is I will be told if there is anything else they need from me. I asked, will they let me know when they send my file to an outside agency like DHS or FBI, answer is Yes, they will notify.

I have received any other notification from USEM since the AP letter sent to me via 2Go on Sep 10. I guess I am waiting some more. 😔
